“And to think I hesitated...” I’ve always wanted to hear and see an orchestra perform these compositions. The choir gave me goosebumps. What a privilege this must’ve been for the audience.
Hellraiser Hellbound quotes "Trick us again child, and your suffering will be legendary... Even in Hell." "It is not hands that call us, it is desire" "What is your pleasure, sir?"
Back in the day within the first few bars, you could always tell the horror movie score.... Critters, Aliens, -- so many had such wonderful unique sounds... NOw everyone just copies them :P
A powerful film score, given the full operatic treatment ! This theme is underrated and in my opinion has never been given the full recognition that is so richly deserved and merited:
"Hellraiser" is a great score, Christopher Young out did himself with the score to "Hellbound: Hellraiser II". Love blaring this score in my car. Love film music!
My brother is on a drugs and alcohol recovery team, and they just built an epic haunted house this year, I sent this performance to him as an opener for their haunted house. Happy Halloween.
I agree with you about that. I read the special anniversary edition of "Hellbound Heart" and this score fits the tone perfectly. Sutter, got a strange question to ask...in your minds eye, as you read the story, could you see the film in your mind?
@@suttercane8150 I read the story after seeing the movie and for some reason, I couldn't see the film images in my mind. I saw what I read and the images I saw were MORE frightening than what I saw in the film. Off topic but I like and get your screen name. Did you see, "The Mouth of Madness?"

One of the most epic horror movie scores ever composed. Wonder if they could even get anything close to this level of brilliance for the announced reboot!
I love how Gothic and epic the themes sound. I think Hellraiser is one of the themes that sparked my interest in movie soundtracks. I love it sooooo much
Just got the biggest shivers down my spine watching the orchestra play Hell's theme music. What if they're secretly unlocking an invisible Lament Configuration through sound?
In Issue 3 of Image Comics graphic novel Hellraiser there’s a story called “songs of metal and flesh”, about a blind musician prodigy who creates a piece of diabolical music which is a form of Lament Cinfiguration, and he ends up in Hell, his body grotesquely turned into several musical instruments in one mish- mash for Cenobites to play with…. And he loves it!
How fun it must be for these performers to play this magnificent piece of music. It’s one thing to hear this when you’re watching the film. It’s a totally different experience to be a part of the orchestra bringing it to life. I can’t imagine the high I would feel.
Realmente es emocionante hasta erza los vellos esas campanas, coros y su orquesta es increible maestro Christopher Young pa esta obra Hellraiser en las Puertas del Infierno.
Thank you so much for uploading this, what a treat for the week of Halloween & Samhain!! I've been obsessed with Hellraiser & Hellbound since watching them as a child (they didn't scare me, quite contrary I was enthralled and in awe of Pinhead, the Cenobites)!!Happy Samhain everyone, honor ur ancestors!! 🙇♀️🧘♀️🥰⛓️🪝
An absolutely amazing piece of music...not recorded very well though...Lovely to see it performed live all the same. One of the all time great horror scores, beautiful and terrifying. Huge, memorable melodies that modern film composer's seem to be afraid of.
I specifically signed into my gmail account to leave a message of "THANK YOU" for this video. It's an incredible video, an incredible symphony and really, really overwhelming. The sounds are so powerful, the instruments in live action to see their every stroke, or breath, or drum... incredible. Christopher Young did an excellent job with this theme, and I don't think there has been a more powerful and signature theme for any horror move. Sure you have the Nightmare on Elm Street synth, or the weird Friday the 13th, which don't get me wrong are all amazing. But something with real instruments, an orchestra cannot be beaten.
Loved it. Just a brilliant masterpiece and has to be the best score in horror film history. It's a vivid charge of goosebumps for the climatic brass section and percussion crew. Beautifully crafted.
This is absolutely fantastic the music off Hell Raiser I had chills down my spine and my head was tringleing just listening to this wonderful and fantastic music and I'm a huge fan of Hell Raiser I wish that I would of been in the crowd listening to this wonderful orchestra it's brilliant.
Quite frankly the most epic score for a horror film.
of any kind of film actually
doctor channard aproves.
until Age of Ultron; truly a horror-ible film.
IDK, Nightbreed is epic too.
Indeed, my friend.

My favourite quote from the second movie!! Classic.... Angels to some, Demons to others :D --- come to daddy
"Time to play!"
Pinhead "This orchestra shall be legendary. Even in Hell!"

do not forget. The suffering the sweet suffering.
It is your flesh we want to experience, not your skills at bargaining.
this score turned an already special "horror" movie into something truly operatic and Shakespearian.
And Clive Barker is a genius. Have you read "The Great and Secret Show"?

"Jesus Wept"
Christpher Youngs best score
What a privilege to have been there. Quite a few people must have solved the box to earn a place in the audience
The melody is a beauty... Tragedy and wonder. True horror. Putting human emotion at its full vertigo

If anybody read the original novel "hellhound heart", this is how It felt.

His score sure elevated the movie
For those 2 who dislike this they are so eager to ear, so reluctant to admit it

“Hellbound” is such an incredible piece. So unusual to hear in a horror film, yet so grandiose.

Yes they would
Clive Barker is still alive.

No, they didn't. I saw the reboot and the filmmakers played a portion of the original soundtrack in the film.
One of the truly greatest film scores of all time, haunting and beautiful, transcendent and powerful.
By Leviathan, that was intense! Incredible score. Pinhead himself would be proud.
Indeed!
Pinhead: you have created a worthy masterpiece. You are all worthy to be converted into Cenobites, and become the chorus of the labyrinth.
A symphony of suffering indeed
Hellraiser and hellraiser II . Both AMAZING soundtracks. Music very well done by young
My pleasure. I hope more people like it and share it just because it is such a beautiful piece of music and now people can see just how it's done. :-)
