If I was a Cubs fan, I think I would have been in tears by the middle of the video. You are ruthless but effective - “Gone! Gone! Gone! Absolutely Gone!” Love the tutorials, thank you!
Sustained long term success with your team, generally at least a little bit of profit, and keeping your fan interest at the max is the best way to get it. There is always some chance of getting a loyalty increase after a successful season, but you'll need to be elite for basically 10 years to have a strong shot at one increase.
When you do the cheap prospects team video, could you give an example/show what a good long term extension would be. It's the part that I have struggled at for a while. Not knowing when to extend a prospect, and also for how long and for how much.
Love the videos especially the quantity coming out lately. Also love all ur tips (long time player first time commenter) I totally disagree though about calling up Naylor/the second base guy and extending them. It seems incredibly counterintuitive to literally everything else you were saying to extend anyone on the team with five years of control remaining in the first season of a rebuild. There’s just no need when you can have them for 550 and then trade them for value in their first year of arb, when your team is starting to come good and you’ll have a totally customized farm team by then. Both of those players are solid but definitely not 10 year extension material? Am I missing something here because there are so few players (real or generated) For whom I’d ever consider buying out any of their minimum years/a 5+ year deal
That's totally fine, the way you suggest doing it is an absolutely acceptable way to handle players like this. And no, I wouldn't give them a 10-year superdeal like I do with top players. Generally, I'll give these types of players contracts more in the range of 8 years, $4-5 million AAV. There's essentially nearly no downside, since you'll be able to dump them still if they decline, but if they explode, the cheapness in years that would be arbitration and the extra 2 years of control are a big deal. Even if they don't, having them on this type of contract is still good for improving their value.

Lol, yeah, it works. Thanks, glad to hear it!
Really love the video's! But I hate having to use my grandpa's hearing aids to hear you explain it all.
Sorry, mic has been a bit finicky lately. I'll check it out.
Good stuff Sgt Mushroom. Any idea how to increase Fan Lotalty in ootp 22? Fan interest seems easy to impact but not sure on Loyalty… Thx!

Hey really like your videos but is it just me that the volume is super low. Lol keep on doing great work man👍
Yep that's an issue with the mic. I'll definitely fix it.

Check out his video on Contracts, he goes over extending players at all different stages.
