Thank you for your informative video as always! I have an 11=year old greyhound, and he is lovely,, but active and so polite. I adopted him 9 months ago. He also raced for 4 years I want him to have his best life❤️❤️❤️From Jean
Awww, we never know how long we have them for, whatever their age when they arrive. So lovely to hear you are able to offer him his best life in his twilight years :-)
Love this video. We adopted a senior dog during COVID. She was nine years old and as she had skin cancer we expected her to last at most six months or so. Three and a half years later, and she's still going strong. The only thing we do is regular physiotherapy to help with her arthritis and to keep her back legs strong.
It's a real pain for me to see aging dogs, since the process is so fast. My 2 first Greys died at the age of 15, sorrounded by love and affection till their very last moments! Now I have 2 other greys, aged nearly 7 and 9.
Thank You for the time you take to to promote help and support for these special houndd. Your kindness patience and calm approach is what they respond to so well in there rehabilitation of coping with there retirement.
Yes I agree. I am the honoured human to have my fifth adopted retiree. Truly is correct that once you share your life with a greyhound you are smitten for life. They are much more than just an athlete. Such big warm hearted souls.
Thank you very much for creating well-organized, easy-to-understand, informative content! Your channel is a gem for people with greyhounds. I've babysat a wonderful grey for two years, and I saw her getting older (she was 8 yo when I left). You're so right, her sniffer was very strong! Used to, she would jump when I would come home, but as she got older, she started greeting me by sticking her nose in my shoes and my bag. Then, she would do a little jump :) I've noticed that she also had accidents with her anal glands happening more often as she got older. Sleep startle also became more pronounced. In general, she became more cuddly and docile as she got older!
Bless her, what a sweet girl. the oldies can be so very endearing :-) increased sleep startle can be because their hearing is diminished, just as ours tend to go with age.
What's your thoughts on Naturo and lily's kitchen dog food? It really is a mine field. I want to feed them the best food without having to make it myself.
I would go with something your dog enjoys, with a good balance of nutrients. There are various brands with a senior version and you can always supplements if you're concerned. Mine tend to have a variety of things depending on what I can get at a good price

Letting them go is never easy, but sadly it is nature's way. I hope your hounds live to a ripe old age :-)
