I know there have been complains but I'm not gonna judge the series before watching. Overall, I'm hyped for this tv show and I hope they make a good story line.
I think we are meant to think that is Sauron. I think it is a priestess of Morgoth. That is a female actor playing that role. I think the meteor man is one of the blue wizards from the same order that Gandalf is a member of. Sauron won't be revealed until the end of this season or possibly the second season.
@@Peridolin it's been confirmed it's not Sauron. And Sauron always appeared male. Just as Gandalf did. Don't come at me with the androgynous argument. Tolkien wrote that each Valar or Maia took onto themselves either male or female forms. There are many stories where beings come across androgynous in fantasy, horror and Sci fi. This isn't one of them.
It's cheap, awful fan fiction portrayed by cosplayers. So much has been disregarded. And all these reactions are not adding anything - I know it's your channel and I am more than certain that you are a very pleasant chap. But this was just a quick watch of the trailer. What about thoughts, guesses, deep dives? A bit of research?
I appreciate the comment buddy. I wanted to deep dive but may do this on release instead. This reaction was mainly for my community on here and elsewhere to “watch it with me”. Overall, I’ll definitely watch it as it’s my form of escapism. Tolkien’s fantasy world is one of the best worlds to escape to.

I know thd argument is to watch it znd then make up your mind. I totally get your escapism reason. That's what stories have always been about, from the very earliest days of humanity. As a decades long Tolkien fan, none of the material released apart from some of the aesthetics give me confidence that this is remotely the Middle Earth that Tolkien wrote about. A lot so far is just plain wrong. Ho hum.
Elves have Long hair not short, Dwarven women should have beards not be clean shaven. They spent a Billion dollars on this and it looks like a cheap rip off of a RUclips Fan film. They went against everything Tolken explicitly said not to. They did not follow any of the lore, they just made this crap up as they went. You can watch it but I won't defile my TV with such blatant disregard for the lore and the cheapness of this woke film.

That’s a very good outlook for it. There are many complaints for the aesthetics but that doesn’t affect story in any way.
Really looking forward to seeing the Dwarves at the height of their power.

It's not Sauron but a female cult leader, or Mrs Slim Shady. It's a female actress.

Tolkien never once says that all Elves have long hair. Tolkien discarded the idea of dwarf women having beards after 1951.
