The 6 speed transmission has about the same range as the 5 speed i.e(imagine the 5 speed transmission with a 6th gear squeezed in between the 5 existing gears). I had thought that initially with the 6 speed, the final gear would be a taller gear than the 5 speed, allowing for 'overdrive/hwy drive/low-rev high speed driving'. It is not the case.
