@@avajules I think something good would be to put a painting/poster and a fake plant next to the new shelf and have the fake plant covering a little bit of the painting or poster.
A bar cart would look SO GOOD by the bookshelf. You can get a bunch of artsy glasses and stuff for your drinks and mixing glasses, etc. Or if you’re not *that* into drinking 😂 a little coffee cart could be cute too. Or even like a record player or something!! Also, definitely have the tv mounted! It looks so much better with a console that pretty - and then you can do some minimal decor pieces !
Yes! a tray with coasters and the candle. the books are either spread out of stacked! For book case maybe have a hanging plant that droops down and some art
For the coffee table: a vase with flowers/faux greenery, a stack of books and a large candle. For the bookcase: Some faux greenery (will not damage the wood), books, vases, pretty much anything that brings you joy but maybe stick to 3-5 colors so it doesn't look like too much. Colors like off whites, creams, browns, amber like oranges, sage green, etc. Neutral solid colors are the best because they go with each other and you wont get tired of them easily. Wall Art: Prints in wood frames or textured neutral art would look great. Sense your walls are white, you can venture out and get prints with color but again, try to stick to only a few colors per print so it doesn't look like too much. These are some of the tips I use myself but overall, do what makes you happy ❤ The furniture pieces you got look great!

I'm so in love with the Japanese / Asian zen home style elicited from the light wood furniture it's so calming and minimalistic and it makes the living space so peaceful while also making it so bright. i'm rlly glad u chose that style and it definitely makes me wanna decorate my room that way!
If I lived in Hawaii I would slowly start collecting art by Hawaiian Artists. That would be really special and something that reminds you of home if you ever move away. The furniture is BEAUTIFUL by the way! Great choices and a vibe that is timeless.
for the coffee table!!! a circle tray, coffee table books, a candle and coasters. maybe a vase if u still have a lot of space. it’s coming along beautifully
My suggestion for next to the bookshelf would be a tall plant (like a tree or monstera plant or something!) and a big colorful print hanging above it in a wooden frame that matches the shelf :)) Love your apartment so far!!
Seeing you add more to your apartment and it progressively feel more homie to you makes me so happy for you. It’s crazy to think how long I’ve been subscribed to you and how much has happened in your life. I love you Ava ❤️❤️

Definitely decorate with plants, you have such amazing light coming through that plants will love that. Your coffee table is big enough where you could probably put 2 stacks of books and a few other things like a plant and candle etc. don’t be afraid of adding pops of colour, it’s a fun way to add visual interest and reflect your personality. A good way to do that is with art/prints and special decor pieces. The wood tones you chose are beautiful and add warmth and a Scandi feel! I think next to the bookshelf a bar cart in bronze or gold could be cool, or a floating shelf where you could put essential items like keys, masks, glasses etc.
Just some ideas lol: - Move the mirror next to the bookshelf and then put a tall plant where the mirror currently is - Put a big tray in the center of the coffee table with a vase of flowers and the books stacked horizontally and a luxurious looking candle

For the coffee table: a tray with coasters, plants, candles, and books, aesthetic camera Wall space: record wall, paintings, pictures, clock, calendar, decorative organic shaped mirrors, tapestry, lamps Shelf space: salt lamp, clock, plants, display jewelry/accessories, record player
Love it! I would put the book shelf in the middle of the wall (where it is) and maybe some art or pictures on the sides of it. Or if you want it where it is you can get a small side table next to it with a lamp 👍🏼and if you look up on Pinterest how to decorate bookshelf you will find so many cute ideas!
If you move the bookshelf to be more centered on the wall, it will seem more separated from the kitchen and less empty. Also, cute coasters for the coffee table and something big in the middle (could be multiple candles, multiple stacks of books, a big bouquet, etc.)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! wow u go girl!! decoration wise a taler plant and a smaller plant with a picture frame above it would look great next to the bookshelve!! aaaand what I think would look nice since you’re going with the whole neutral theme is a macramee wall decor piece!!
I've seen coffee table decor where they lay out rows of books and it looks SO cute. Like two or three rows of three or four books. There's one pic I'm thinking of and it's on Paige Wassel's pinterest under her "Homes I Like" board (she's an awesome prop stylist)!
Okay, Ava you need to listen to this. My mom is an interior decorator sooo. Next to the bookshelf, if we’re going off of what I think your style is, I would move it a little closer to the fridge, and then put a plant next to it and leave it at that. And then for the coffee table you could do a cute tray or a tray that’s a mirror and then candles the books Etc. In the mirror I would just leave super simple. But you could use a plant next to it. Oh my gosh it all looks so good 😊 also you could use a little flavor because I personally feel like it’s all kind of the same material in a way but it still looks amazing. Love you!! 😉
Okay, but filling your apartment with plants is going to make is sooo much better!! Like it looks stunning already but imagine the pops of green with all the plants !! Oh my god yes! But so far, I am loving seeing the whole apartment progress and turn more homey!!! So hyped for you!
Ava, I’ve appreciated these vlogs so much. The other night I decided it’s best for my mental and emotional health to move out and get space between my parents and I. I cried on and off for what felt like forever. Seeing you flourish and stand tall even though it must be scary or difficult really is inspiring me. I haven’t been here long but I already feel like we’re best friends❤️
COFFEE TABLE!!: put a white runner down the middle with a matching wicker tray with candles and books and a plant....next to the bookshelf: polaroid walls spaced out....the shelves: plants and seashells and books and cameras
My boyfriend and I have been talking about possibly moving to Hawaii in the future (he’s Hawaiian) and your videos are literally so adorable it’s constantly convincing me to move there. But with the table maybe get a throw blanket to kinda hang off the side just to fell the space and it’s multifunctional because if you have friends over they can have a blanket to use!
I am so so happy to watch your transformation from like living with your parents and moving out on your own. I moved out of my parents home on the 14th of January last year so this is kinda a recap for me. You will grow so much, on every single part of your life. It’s amazing. You can literally feel it after a few weeks. You probably will love and hate it (and everything in between) but it’s worth it. Every single day❤️
Can’t wait to see the couch and decor!!! I definitely think keeping the decor neutral w/ pops of color would look great! The color scheme of your previous room was super pretty too!
For the bookshelf or your ladder shelf a sage green instax would be beautiful. You can also use the camera to ass more aesthetic photos throughout the apartment.
I moved into my new home last October and I’m now obsessed with these videos 🥰 the light oak furniture has been all over interior designers channels along with simple shapes and textures to decorate. I love the calm energy, my inspiration always is driven by wanting a cozy yet functional space that I don’t have to spend too much time cleaning daily
Ava this vlog was amazinggg I’m loving the moving series!! We’re the same age and I got my first ever one bedroom apartment last year for school and oh my gosh I loved it, also your furniture pieces are to die for❤️ for decor ideas ive been loving putting like a cute small circular tray with a candle and like incense stick things that’d look perfect beside your books on your coffee table, and I feel like a big plant on the ground would be super cute next to your bookshelf! Love you Ava keep doing what you’re doing:)❤️
i think for the office you should get a small ottoman or some floor pillows in front of the chair since all the furniture is kinda around the perimeter of the room it will give some dimension and make it feel more cozy :)
Okay book shelf, different levels for different books! like chef books on top with cute kitchen related trinkets, variation of fake plants maybe a record player? your white shelf looks fire after you decorated i have no doubts this one will look even better. but next to the shelf, three plants on stands of different heights!! it creates dimension and balance!! for the coffee table like an acrylic tray or white marble tray that you can place your books on stacked by size two candles on the open space not occupied by the books, stack of cute coasters, a distinguishable vase (like the one on your table) with cute flowers to the side without a coaster and i feel like you can add any cute trinkets you’d like!
I JUST moved out and bought all new furniture in my first apartment, so here's a couple suggestions: mixing wood is great! But you want multiple accents of each color throughout the room, so if nothing matches your kitchen table/chairs, maybe get a small piece on your bookshelf that does. It pulls the room together when there are hints of different colors throughout the room. Also, not only mixing wood/colors but textures! I love these rattan ottomans I have from Target, and you can obviously do texture well with blankets, pillows, books, plants, etc. I personally like a minimal design (I don't have plants, knick knacks), so I don't keep stuff on my coffee table or TV stand. You might find that you don't like things on your coffee table bc you might eat off it/put your feet up and not want to shuffle things around. A vase with some flowers would be cute tho :)
OMG i cannot get over how cute your furniture looks. I'm actually in love with it. A small bar cart or small side table would look cute beside the bookshelf. If you go the side table, you could put a vase of flowers with your camera on it. I love the whole moving series
Because of how much wood you now have going on the space, definitely set your sights on some different textures and colors (especially with how little variation there is among the wood tone), otherwise your space will very quickly feel cramped and give off furniture set vibes. You are headed in the right direction, just start focusing more on adding variation; size, scale, color, texture, etc. When everything looks too intentional, one single thing can suddenly throw the entire room off. Don't be afraid to try different things and experiment. Move things around, shift things to another direction, appreciate empty space here and there and don't think too much about it! And don't feel pressured to keep something that doesn't make you happy. Your home is an ever evolving space that should evolve with you and compliment your lifestyle. Rooting for you!!!!!
i would recommend keeping it simple. the simpler it is the 1. easier it is to clean 2. less cluttered you feel and you feel cozier imo. i would also recommend just buying things as you go and not cluttering too much but it’ll look great regardless. for me i find the less i have the better!!
When you decorate the walls go for art that's bigger just cuz you have so much walls space and it will draw the eye up so the room looks bigger and like the ceilings are higher. The furniture looks sooo good!! I am so here for the mixed woods it's like my favorite thing ❤❤
Decorating ideas: for the coffee table (as some other also have suggested) you should as a tray. I would recommend a circular tray which is either a darker wood tone (like the dining table) or something with silver accents (like some of the kitchen appliances). For the bookshelf you can either add a little like bench type situation or a medium sized plant and some pictures/paintings. For the corner in the office you should add a gallery of pictures and a little plant on the table or some hanging from the ceiling.
for wall decor you should go on a date with connor to like a paint place and do 2 large paintings so you can have 1 for each wall behind the accent chair in your office (like canvases) or you can just find a pretty spot and paint the view (1 spot, 2 interpretations, or 2 diff spots where you work on the painting together in each place)
omg so cute! i love the wood mixing and definitely think that while you're decorating using darker wood frames for whatever you put on the walls would help to integrate the darker wood of the kitchen into the rest of the apartment💛
Ava!! To help make your coffee table look a little smaller and to help your smaller pieces of decor go a long way, Get some sort of placemat/tablerunner to go on top of the coffee table, and then put your decor on top of that. That helps make it look like you're decor is taking up more space on the table, and covers up some of the empty space! 💕🌺
coffee table… besides the books… a large long bowl filled with something like geodes. vining plants every other shelf on the bookcase! looks beaut so far!!!
i think a tall plant would look beautiful next to the bookshelf!! it’ll add some nice color to that wall and flow really nicely! as for the tv console, i think keeping it bare with just the tv is the best option just because it’s such a beautiful and intricate piece of furniture you don’t want to overwhelm it!
Omg a cute decorative ladder with blankets would be so adorable for beside the bookshelf! You can also hang some tote bags/hats/fairy lights or vines off it too!
for art, definitely check out local artists at different markets like Aloha Home Market in Kailua or local art galleries/boutique stores. some of my favorite local artists are Margie Rice, Aloha de Mele, Punky Aloha, and Pegge Hopper!!
also a big abstract painting would look SO good behind the accent chair in the office. i feel like something with green in it would look good with the wood and bring a pop of color.
I’m obsessed with it all!! The coffee table could have cute coasters, a small but wide plant bowl full of succulents and books! Maybe behind your reading chair you could have you fav book or film posters😍 any local Hawaiian art would look amazing too. your apartment coming together so beautifully!
The mirror by the bookshelf! That way you can check the 'fit before heading out, ya know? or a little table for keys, wallet, things to deposit when going in & out
You should totally put a slim table beside the shelves and put little trinket dishes for your keys and whatnot. You could also put another mirror on top of it, maybe one sourced locally (with rattan and wicker). And for the table you could do this symmetrical square thing where you have the books and then beside it a coffee table tray with flowers and candles and napkins etc. Beautiful apartment, really excited to see what you do!
Bookshelf : plants 🪴 Decor: line art for the walls in a little frame, marbled artwork or nature vibes. 🎨. Coffee table: coasters, flowers, books, a little bowl for the remote and keys or random things (a pretty brown or ring holder type thing) 💚
you NEED a circle vase for the coffee table with some cute minimalistic fake/real flowers!!! A pathos plant would also look SO cute on the bookshelf with the vines falling over??!!
so happy for you omg that's the best youtube series i've never followed !! Can't wait to see the couch! As decor suggestion i feel like a sunset lamp would match perfectly to your mood
All of this looks so amazing. If you want more wall space to be taken up and more color, go to some antique stores and try to find paintings. You can also look online on eBay/Facebook marketplace/ etc. for antique paintings, I feel like they’re usually cooler and have more character than most modern art. ALSO a fun idea would be to maybe make one of your smaller walls into a big photo collage? Choose and print out a bunch of your own pictures and maybe go with a color scheme if you want. Another fun idea is to frame old advertisements, you can find them online and print them or look for old magazines either online or at antique stores. Also, of course, local art☺️ always a good choice. Hope this helps! I love your channel Ava💗🌸
i absolutely love table runners! they dont even have to be just for tables, they can go across bookshelves or other things! theyre a great way to add color and a sense of home
For the coffee table I’d put a round tray of some sort maybe neutral colour like a white!? And then decorate it from there with varying heights. For example on the tray put a small stack of book, a larger flower vase and a candle. Maybe get one of the wooden bead things with the tassels on the end to drape it on the book! Itd look so good! And for the tv stand I can rlly see some plants either on there on the corners or in larger pots on the floor with some sanseverias/snake plants! They are great first plants low light and come in all colours! Hope this helps :)
table runners are a cute way to decorate your tables, or coffee tables! you can change them with the holidays too, or season :) plants are also a great way to create a homie, peaceful environment, there are some really great beginner plants as well, that do not require a lot of attention. Throw blankets, and pillows are also perfect!! I love the tones of wood btw! Things that make you feel great and inspired, photos of your loved ones framed too! so many ideas haha!
Move the tall shelf to the left (if you’re facing it) and then add a large plant in the right corner. You can also center it and do matching plants on either side!
your house is coming along beautifully! I would mount the TV on the wall for sure and the TV console is beautiful so I would keep it simple with probably a pretty vase on one end and a pretty tray with miscellaneous things (funky shaped candle, maybe a reed diffuser) on the other.
Girl i love the furniture and how everything is coming together!💖 Okay so, for the shelf: just put all your books and some random but cute and special decorations. Then put a bar cart (or whatever its called) next to it (maybe a wicker one) and put all types of alc. bottles and cups /glasses. And for the coffe table: a cool shaped tray (maybe made out of clay and colourful) or a glass one, definetely a vase with flowers, books, a candle, maybe a little frame. And overall, just use a lot of thrifted pieces, things you found at random stores, second hand or passed down, that your friends or you made. Things that are cool/fun and special and that are very you and reflect your personality.
simple prints that bring in pops of colors could be really good for the wall. If you don't know what to put by the bookshelf you could center it more and then put plants next to it or do a funky floor lamp that could be cute. it looks so amazing so far!
for around the bookshelf: maybe a vertical hanging picture and a plant or a small entry table like for keys? for the tv stand you should put the tv but maybe add a picture that you love!!
my favorite way to spice up furniture is i thrift pashminas to drape over the surface of a shelf or table and it adds so much fun detailing and color pops. you could maybe lay one on the coffee table and then put a tray on top with other decor like someone else suggested
also something i have on my coffee table is a lil decorative wooden bowl with seasonal candy in it. at Christmas time i had those sugar cookie hershey kisses and guests ate those things up
That bookshelf is so so gorgeous! Maybe you could center it and add a plant on each side to fully enhance its beauty? Love the pieces you have chosen for your new place!!
i love it all omg!! everything is beautiful! i feel like a small chair next to the bookshelf in the living room would look so good and add extra seating! also fun and pretty coasters make great additions to any coffee table :)
For your bookshelf mix in some pictures with your books and decorative boxes. Whoever your favorite artist or type of art you like for the walls. Mirrors are good on walls they make the space seem bigger.
Organization furniture: personally I will put the TV table where is the book shelf and the book shelf where is the TV table, then turn the coffee table, that will make you feel with more space, but you will definitely need curtains for the sun and city lights to watch the TV Btw love youuu!!!
For the bookshelf I would just center it on the wall and then let the decorations and books within the shelf shine! That way it’s not too much happening on one wall. Plus I would add a plant at the top of the shelf! It would make it so cute and bright and lively and the greenery would look so good against that beautiful wood!

For the bookshelf or your ladder shelf a sage green instax would be beautiful. You can also use the camera to ass more aesthetic photos throughout the apartment.
THIS IS SO EXCITING, i love how it’s all coming together, i’m so happy for you!!!! can’t wait to see how you decorate the bookshelf
I love this series so much and the apartment is coming out so good so happy and proud of you Ava ❤️
Love your videos so much! They’re so entertaining. ❤️ Can’t wait to see when the apartment is finished.
Ava, I love your aestheticity of moving furniture in the apartment and I can’t wait for the finishing touches! ❤️❤️
OMG i cannot get over how cute your furniture looks. I'm actually in love with it. A small bar cart or small side table would look cute beside the bookshelf. If you go the side table, you could put a vase of flowers with your camera on it. I love the whole moving series
I cannot describe how happy Ava makes me each time she posts 🤍
I'M SO EXCITED FOR EVERYTHING COMING TOGETHER!! What I would put next to the book shelve would be a plant.
i would recommend keeping it simple. the simpler it is the 1. easier it is to clean 2. less cluttered you feel and you feel cozier imo. i would also recommend just buying things as you go and not cluttering too much but it’ll look great regardless. for me i find the less i have the better!!
YES IM SO EXCITED
Something I’ve learned ab Ava with this videos is that she says room like “rum” rather than “rOOm” and I love it
coffee table… besides the books… a large long bowl filled with something like geodes. vining plants every other shelf on the bookcase! looks beaut so far!!!
i think a tall plant would look beautiful next to the bookshelf!! it’ll add some nice color to that wall and flow really nicely! as for the tv console, i think keeping it bare with just the tv is the best option just because it’s such a beautiful and intricate piece of furniture you don’t want to overwhelm it!
Also a floor lamp by your desk would look SO good!🥰
The mirror by the bookshelf!
Different shaped candles, colourful verses, prints / artwork. A giant plant near your book shelf, some plants that hang over the shelf!
Bookshelf : plants 🪴 Decor: line art for the walls in a little frame, marbled artwork or nature vibes. 🎨. Coffee table: coasters, flowers, books, a little bowl for the remote and keys or random things (a pretty brown or ring holder type thing) 💚
avaaaa this video is my fave one from you as of recently. your interior design style is so beautiful, love to watch you decorate and stuff!!
you NEED a circle vase for the coffee table with some cute minimalistic fake/real flowers!!!
I love your channel Ava💗🌸
i absolutely love table runners! they dont even have to be just for tables, they can go across bookshelves or other things! theyre a great way to add color and a sense of home
get a DISCO BALL and move it around your place- with the lighting in your apartment it will look so cool
You can also center it and do matching plants on either side!
your coffee-table books are everything!!!! please keep it that way
your house is coming along beautifully! I would mount the TV on the wall for sure and the TV console is beautiful so I would keep it simple with probably a pretty vase on one end and a pretty tray with miscellaneous things (funky shaped candle, maybe a reed diffuser) on the other.
Girl i love the furniture and how everything is coming together!💖
Okay so, for the shelf: just put all your books and some random but cute and special decorations.
The bookshelf looks so nice! The chair from target is really cute!
simple prints that bring in pops of colors could be really good for the wall. If you don't know what to put by the bookshelf you could center it more and then put plants next to it or do a funky floor lamp that could be cute. it looks so amazing so far!
LOVE all the furniture so far !! such a cute and cozy apartment !!!! so happy for you 🤍
for around the bookshelf: maybe a vertical hanging picture and a plant or a small entry table like for keys? for the tv stand you should put the tv but maybe add a picture that you love!!
my favorite way to spice up furniture is i thrift pashminas to drape over the surface of a shelf or table and it adds so much fun detailing and color pops. you could maybe lay one on the coffee table and then put a tray on top with other decor like someone else suggested
also something i have on my coffee table is a lil decorative wooden bowl with seasonal candy in it. at Christmas time i had those sugar cookie hershey kisses and guests ate those things up
just smiling throughout the video because ava looks so happy 🥰🥰
That bookshelf is so so gorgeous! Maybe you could center it and add a plant on each side to fully enhance its beauty? Love the pieces you have chosen for your new place!!
i love it all omg!! everything is beautiful! i feel like a small chair next to the bookshelf in the living room would look so good and add extra seating! also fun and pretty coasters make great additions to any coffee table :)
For your bookshelf mix in some pictures with your books and decorative boxes. Whoever your favorite artist or type of art you like for the walls. Mirrors are good on walls they make the space seem bigger.
Organization furniture: personally I will put the TV table where is the book shelf and the book shelf where is the TV table, then turn the coffee table, that will make you feel with more space, but you will definitely need curtains for the sun and city lights to watch the TV
Btw love youuu!!!
For the bookshelf I would just center it on the wall and then let the decorations and books within the shelf shine! That way it’s not too much happening on one wall. Plus I would add a plant at the top of the shelf! It would make it so cute and bright and lively and the greenery would look so good against that beautiful wood!
You could do a terrarium bowl filled with succulents in the middle of the coffee table. They would get such good light!!
MA’AM I GET SO EXCITED FOR THESE POSTS!!! YOU ARE LIVING MY DREAM AND ITS SO FUN GETTING TO SEE NEW UPDATES. I am currently 15 and I literally can’t wait to move out, get my own place, and just live my life myself. I wanna feel alive and I wanna be able to be my own person. (I know when I’m an adult I will regret saying that and wish I was a kid again, but it’s fine) ANYWAYS, I am so happy for you and I love getting to see these posts!!!
ouuuu love the furniture! Maybe a runner on the coffee table that is super vibrante? i feel like a pop of color couch would be so bold and iconic! orange? green? blue? I would just decorate as you go. might seem more memorable to you :)
Ava I love it all so much!! I need the links for all this furniture because I’m obsessed 😭🤍 so proud of you!!
