The amount of times I've had 10 stacks built up and some random 2bit pos mob randomly puts a debuff on JY completely skipping LL's turn is quite stupid. This mechanic is especially stupid since we know LL in lore can move on it's own like we saw in Phantylia fight.

Idk about this question, but when I just got in the HSR fandom, there were people bullying someone for using Jing Yuan. I told them to stop it, then I got bullied for "defending Jing Yuan." Very early on I realized that this fandom is a bunch of kids. I don't really blame Jing Yuan mains for "overreacting" cause they always get sh*t on for fun.
edit: That being said, it is absolutely fine to acknowledge a character's weakness. But to straight up mock others for using a unit you dislike is just disgusting.
The thing is tho the Jing yuan mains keep denying the weakness of his weaknesses and instead attack other units to put him above them

Bro I love Argenti andI love Blade in game but I despise Jing Yuan I do not enjoy the gameplay, the moment he released it was a landslide but when you get so many cards that are insane and easier to play , why would you bother, it's so unfun and I'm gonna pull for Sam and prolly quit again for a while, guess what will inevitabely happen (the same thing, but I hope not because they have experience now)

I feel like 0-cycles, while fun to look at as a benchmark, is not necessarily indicative of a unit's general performance. Most people aren't going to push that limit, it's probably better to compare clears with a sustain in 2-3 cycles rather than 0-cycle, since that's probably what a majority of the playerbase is doing.
That being said it's tragic that LL can only act once per cycle ever and everyone else has ways to push their damage forward, even DoT has ways to push its damage forward with Kafka :/

Dude, only 5% of the accounts that get made for this game ever reach MoC in the first place and most of that subset are struggling to clear that shit in 10 cycles because they're running Def% orb on their Yanqing. Maybe back when bosses didn't have >1mil HP and you had 20 cycles, maybe then it would be realistic, but even then, a 2-cycle clear for them would be as unrelatable as Pokke's 175 Spd Sparkle setup is to a lot of us -- and I say this as a player with 2 Crit Dmg chests with 9 spd each, my Sparkle is still barely 163 Spd.
Seriously, just go over to the main HSR subreddit every time they release a new Penacony boss and watch the noobs bitch about them like it's the next Balteus or Radahn until it gets nerfed to the ground like 1.0 Tartaglia was. Do you honestly think these chucklefucks can clear MoC 12 at all, let alone do it in less than 5 cycles, if the story mode bosses are kicking their asses? Like sure, Sam was a bit of a matchup check and fucked over a lot of Bailu/Natasha users not prepared to deal with his bullshit. But Aven was just a regular fight with a nuke every few turns, nothing we haven't seen before, and this dude still became The Great Filter for a week.
there's no point reaching for a moral high ground here, you could run it with 2 sustainers and it would still be unrelatable for the majority of players because your artifacts aren't hot trash and you know what teambuilding and speed tuning are. Face the facts, you and the people you interact with are a lot better at this game than you give yourselves credit for, and you'll never know just how bad the average player has it because the average players aren't asking for build advice in the Mains subs since the average players don't know those subs exist. True relatability is something you will never achieve, you became unrelatable the first time you rolled crit Dmg on a crit rate chest.
aside from that I agree, Our General has gotten buffs every patch and he's still on life support somehow. Not controlling when your nuke detonates makes it a major pain in the ass to get full value from it, from overkill into the wrong target to mooks acting as meat shields for the elite. It's like Acheron getting walled by the stoplight droids and their shields, sucks when it happens but at least that enemy is rare nowadays.
It's true that most aren't going to push that limit. Hell, so long as I can get 3 stars and my jades that's enough for me. I got no interest in all this 0 cycle stuff. Majority of players won't either. This is, at the end of the day, a gacha game with limited resources per day (unless you fork out money) and people will treat it as such.

That's not even a good thing for him, he wants his follow up to take a while to land so he can take care of adds first, otherwise it deals no damage. I've seen low hp elites tank a his follow up by spawning adds.
Like a ‘action advance’ or speed boost for bonus characters like numby and LL would be goated
LL should automatically trigger when reach 10 stack, it will fix his problem

Think about it, you can just use characters like HuoHuo Sparkles and Tingyun to get as many ultimates as possible and get multiple LightningLord rotations off. JY 3 turns is 6 stacks and let's assume 3 ults is 9 stacks so 15 total. His technique adds that to 21 I think so it's 2 LL. Bronya could make him go 4 times but that makes 0 difference.
And acherons ult deals like 3-4 times LL dmg and she can do that twice in the first cycle which tbf is useless since everything is dead.

jing yuan is my favourite character and i absolutely love him, but even then i still acknowledge his flaws. just a pity that he will keep getting outshined by other characters.

Man, I pulled for Blade as my first DPS before I even had Bronya. Just having him on the team was a massive boost to my ability to get through content. Speed tuning him with E1 Bronya made him a beast back in the day. Nowadays he's just... I mean, c'mon. Unless you've got a fully speed tuned unlimited-blade-works team, the man is just putting out depressing damage. Juan has nothing to be ashamed of.
well blade is actually a great beginner dps. He just comfy to play, simple play style with decent aoe and single, he also sustain himself make the game easier too. I will always grateful for my blade even though i probably never use him again.
let's hope that with Sam's release we get either a better relic set, a hp sacrifice support harmony/nihility or both to finally let him shine. Currently i am only using him in my Jingliu team only because my Bronya has a dogwater build and i can't be bothered to speed tune her.
if there's any character I would pull just because I think they could be fun and I think they're cool reguardless of performance it would be Blade 100%
i agree so much. when i pulled Blade it made the game feel a lot easier but now he simply can’t hang with the other DPS.
I will say one thing about blade. He is the perfect comfy casual dps. I consider box2 to be pretty much what a lot of casual players are like. For people like him blade is a god send because he cant seem make most normal dps characters work lmao
All we can do is hope and cope for a follow-up attacker to activate other follow-up attacks that can allow him two LL in one cycle and even then he'll just be on par with other top tier dps and not broken or anything.
It's because there are other 5 star limited lightning dps, kafka and acheron, that's why he always gets mentioned. Only blade is the only 5 star wind dps, argenti is our only 5 star hypercarry physical and Seele is also our only quantum 5 star dps.
There's also Black Swan. Dont underestimate her dps potential.

Bruh at least people who had no Seele has Qingque who can gamble her way up to Seele tier damage and AoE, and now there is also a very decent Acheron-lite that is Xueyi as well for Quantum too.

Jingyuan is simply not designed for 0-cycle. That's like asking for DoT teams to frontload their damage without Kafka.

they make it so fucking easy, people stopped shitting on Seele a long time ago because their mains aren't as quick to respond to getting poked. They've always had this thing of "So what if Qingque or Jingliu gets better results on most accounts? I don't want to main her because Seele's more fun" that JY mains can't fathom for some reason. Same reason Argenti mains don't catch flak over Clowndwen ranking Herta above him, they really just don't give a fuck.

Argenti's been one of the highest value pulls I've done tbh. Even before pure fiction, bro was a calyx destroying machine. I also just kinda like him as a character, might grab his LC on rerun.
Same tbh. I have had JY since release and the whole game has been a struggle with him as my dps.
He's not so bad now because of all the buffs he's gotten over time but Argenti feels better to use to me.
I have him and his LC as well. My go-to character for brute-forcing. I am considering getting him an e1 even. But most importantly, I love his character.

The thing is, Mr. Pokke is not the problem. It's that people are directing the hate at the wrong entity. If you feel like JingYuan needs change submit a feed back to Hoyoverse. Fighting among communities and such are absolutely stupid. There are people who hate Acheron, Argenti, Kafka, and even Jing Yuan, so they will not pull on them. Like I pulled every characters but DOT characters because I hate the DOT style. If I was f2p, then yeah I would care about tier units and such, but for money spenders it really doesn't matter. I also play Genshin and I have seen people who C6R5(basically E6S5) characters like Yoimiya or Eula, whom are lower in the tierlist, and that is fine. Even for me, character Neuvillette is so broken that he can solo Spiral Abyss (basically MOC) for one side at E0-E1, but I prefer using Ayato at times too. optimal doesn't always equate to fun for some. I do wish toxicity from both Jing Yuan mains and the rest of the communities would stop though. Obviously, not everyone is like this but there are people whom act like kids. At the end of the day, its just a game.
Holy based take. Also worth pointing out is that the biggest "objective" of the game for most players is just to clear MoC, not to 0-cycle MoC. I think a lot of CCs put way too much emphasis on the competitive aspects of the game, and forget that the game isn't that serious or try hard for like 99% of players.
Agreed. There is also no pvp. I have played actual hard games like dark souls, and sekiro and those actually take skills. Also if people have played actual hard turn based rpgs like, persona 3 fes: the answer, then people will know those actually take skill. Heck, I played fire emblem three houses dlc lately, and that is way harder than this. All I am saying is, this game is easy, so why bother fighting over things when every limited banner units can clear everything. We should just be thankful that 4 stars are actually useful unlike many other gacha games. I have played gacha game called, Fire Emblem Heroes, and in that game new 5 star unit completely destroys all other units. This happens like every few months. Also 4 stars are all useless. Coming from playing other gacha games, Jing Yuan or the other units are honestly not that bad. But I do feel like older units will definitely need direct buffs when their next rerun hits so the new players will have more options for pulling characters. I find it extremely boring when everyone uses the same units and same builds.
Reminder that their reddit avoided posting the current Pure Fiction data (something they always do) just because it made Jing Yuan look bad. No one should be taking them seriously.
They also have multiple "TCs" ran the "test" with the most scuffed Acheron team possible to make her deal 16% less than JY best team lmfao. Even I saw through this biased test immediately.

I’ve always said Jing Yuan is not that good in Pure fiction. He has a tight threshold you need to meet and if you mess up a bit, you will waste LL rotation on trash mobs and the run is ruined. Also his E1 makes it way better in pure fiction. That said, I used him and he was able to get the job done for me even E0 so I have no reason to complain.

@@taesshi Apart from Acheron who speedruns the SU farm and world farm, I don't think any DPS has pull value, it's more use whoever you want.
Hoyoverse will sell you the solution and make a character that can either advance forward summoned units like LL or Numby or force your summoned unit/follow up attack to trigger.
That said Jing Yuan is the one unit I regret pulling for.
for real, it was the very beginning of the game and I just wanted any shiny new 5-stars. I try not to be too hard on myself for pulling for him, but I do get annoyed every time I see him on my account and think about all the other excellent units I missed out on because of that.
i agree, same, early at the game back then, i dont understand the game mechanics that much and cannot read into the future what LL would be so i dont know that LL will be so bad and u cannot AV LL like numby is. that is the root of problem but now i understand the game much better i would not get trap again for the same mistake
Yeah I do love his aesthetics but I haven’t used him since I got Kafka and now I have Kafka and Acheron who are both busted. (I’ve gotten very lucky and only lost 2 50-50’s)
That would be insane but I feel it's maybe a 3.0 thing at the earliest, we don't have nearly enough summons type units for it to be a specific mechanic. But yea I'll admit I'm a jingyuan doomposter (cuz it's too fun to troll them lol) but a unit that's essentially kafka but triggers lightning lord would actually be broken

Like in genshin, any character can clear all endgame content, just depends how committed you are to getting amazing relics. Some players just don't want to commit all their time into one character, so they feel that jingyuan just isn't worth the months of grinding. Characters like Blade, Kafka, Jingliu etc. can perform as well with less investment, which for more casual players like me, is much more valuable than hitting lower dmg with a character that you have invested months into, even bought their LC and eidolons

MrPokke, I have a question for your mod who mains JY - why he(or she) used lightning DMG sphere instead of Atk% one when he(or she) has Ruan Mei and Rendezvous Tingyun in this team?
from my experience, he is good but easily outshined by other DPS. His pro is also his biggest weakness which is LL. As long as that thing doesnt drop immediately at 10 stacks, he will always be lower tier in my eyes. JY mains have been like "oh look he's S tier now accept it loser", im like sure he got all those buffs just to get him to S tier but if any other character get the same thing they will go beyond that

People need to stop running him on SPD boot and accept he needs a support that supplies him speed. Asta and Tingyun did it for patches WAY before Sparkles even got released. Ruan Mei was the point when he actually became "competitive" with some other DPS(not like he can beat Jingliu and the other S+ tier dps) but he's never been "garbage"
Its not as if all the buffs jy receive, cant be benefit by other dps. Im sure tons of other dps also benefit from huohuo, sparkle, fuxuan.
@@supmofos6986 Jingyuan has Yoimiya syndrome, where his number is fine, and he eventually became pretty decent with post-release support, but there's just a core mechanical issue that has you scratching your head on why didn't they think about this when they were designing him. Its worse for Yoimiya because Diluc C6 already existed in game and Itto came out like 2 patches after with the very same mechanic baked into his base kit, but Topaz coming out shows they were somewhat aware of JY's LL static speed issue and made Numby dynamic instead with ADV forward. Plus Yoimiya was released during the time period where a lot of characters kit came out half baked and needed another CBT cycle of development, whereas JY was a launch patch char with plenty of dev time.

If Jing Yuan's lightning lord stack worked like himeko's and the follow up goes the moment you reach the limit he would be S across the board.
Its kinda sad that Jing Yuan didn't turn out like how Zhong Li did in Genshin Impact as Jing Yuan is literally the General of Luofu and appeared so much right before Penacony released.

Zhongli is the god of the Chinese representative region, its not even close. Jing Yuan is closer to an Adepti, he's only a general of A ship in a fleet of ships, there's 6 others of his rank.
What I actually meant was he should be buffed like how Zhong Li was, not by lorewise or anything, even if you state lorewise he ain't as strong as ZhongLi whatever, he did involve himself in the Xianzhou arc pretty consistently alongside Imbibitor Lunae lol. He definitely looks like he's the only one character that was nerfed by his LL per one turn issue. While other newer character seems to have fix 'His' issue instead of actually truly fixing Jing Yuan's kit.
@@AzariusR Zhongli got buffed because the god of china being weak pissed off the CN community and they basically harassed Mihoyo into buffing him (fax bomb, threatening to report them for tax evasion, etc...). Jing Yuan is nothing in comparison, hence no backlash, hence no buff

I've been a jy main ever since jy release in 1.0 and i love the playstyle even to this day my jy is still one of my best unit(having a 3k atk with 130 spd and 75/180 crit) despite me having jl and acheron i still remember how much investment i give him and reinvestment when duke set release until i get acheron bcause if imma be real acheron and jy have the same stacking mechanics before unleashing there dmg only difference is acheron have freedom and more control on her dmg compare to jy 1 turn LL which only not slow but also have a random targeting making zero cycle more RNG jy will only be really good as 1 cycle unit zero cycling with him and ur putting urself in pain either way i will still use him maybe bcause of the comfort and experience i have with him but acheron being very similar is giving me the same feeling so yeah guess jl will be the one permanently bench

How to fix Jing Yuan? Release a supp that immideatly advances "summons" like LL or Topaz rat?
Hear me out, what if we get a support that buffs the AV of both the user and the summoned unit but the summon gets a bigger AV? That way JY, Topaz or any other character with an additional unit mechanic can benefit from the buff and it would still synergize with their kits. But keep it in line so that the
to fix JY's LL, they has to release a support character that can action forward+increases stack for other character's summoned unit. as for now we only had LL and Numby being summoned unit. so imo it not gonna happen until we had more summoner-type characters so that niche support can sell on banner.

I think Jing Yuan is still a decent pick, if you like him. You might not be able to 0 cycle with ease, but you'll clear MoC and PF with him.
He isn't exceptional in Moc or PF, but he's good enough in both, so you're killing two birds with one stone, unlike Jingliu who is unstoppable in MoC, but falls off in PF.
He's also decent enough in single target and AoE, because of how his LL works. Sort of the Jack of all trades, master of none.
If you like him pull for him, but if you want meta, respectfully, you will brick your account lol. Comparing to kafka and acheron ofc.

I feel like Jing Yuan mains (just the loud minority ones) need to understand that their unit isn't perfect, just like every other DPS in this game. To truly love a character, you need to be aware of their weak points just as much as what they're good at.
If you love a character enough, you will make them work regardless of what the community thinks. It's just that there are other characters who have an easier time getting to the top, and that's just the reality of a gacha game that continuously powercreeps.
I agree , what I hate is when the gacha powercreep applies to new/unique characters not to goku red blue green yellow base form then every form ever with different typing, it's just Goku, I don't have other Jing Yuans in anime or other games and I like Jing Yuan in tthe story but yeah ig hoyo decides nope , make him unfun to play

I remember in the 2.1 beta the JYmains subreddit was coping so fucking hard that Acheron had similar flaws as him and was worse than him. Hoyo subreddits tend to have a lot of people who think they are way more correct than they are and aren’t afraid to be toxic about it, but that place takes it to a whole new level with even the mods participating in the goddamn sidebar of all places. Now that they have zero chance of being taken seriously when trying to drag down Acheron, they are going for the “soft targets” (or so they think) of Argenti, Blade, and Seele. I can’t decide whether it’s sad or funny.
As for why this keeps happening, I think it’s just a consequence of the initial impetus of the community.
Back in 1.0, there were a lot of sus pre-release takes about skipping Seele for JY being the meta, and naturally there were toxic people trying to make people who rolled Seele feel bad and glaze JY. But when it turned out that he just didn’t measure up to expectations and had a lot of flaws that didn’t show up in the naive on-paper analysis (eternal theme of Hoyo game TC btw), it became clear that the ones who missed out were actually those who skipped Seele for JY.
The initial wave of mockery was just desserts for those toxic people, but the innocent husbando pullers got caught in the crossfire, and the schmucks who got conned by the pre-release glazers and pulled him for meta reasons got burned. The burned schmucks then split into angry JY haters and delusional JY copers, and this fed fuel to the fire creating a vicious cycle where every patch without fail the JYmains community can be found trying to explain why ackshually he is top tier and just got buffed and there’s a double standard where the “really” mid characters aren’t getting their share of hate, making themselves an easy target for more bullying when all that comes crashing down and it becomes apparent that it was grade A copium.
And it all reached a crescendo in the 2.1 beta cycle where JY was rated up on the live servers right before the release of Acheron. You had the direct creep vibe with her being AoE lightning, you had the husbando vs waifu tension that’s become an inevitable toxicity breeder, you had the release of Sparkle to give JYmains overconfidence, and you had the classic Raiden doomposting cycle where even her own mains subreddit does its best to delude itself into thinking she’ll be mid or whalebait or both. It was the perfect storm to bring out unprecedented levels of delusion and cope from JYmains.
And boy has it been entertaining.
Anyway, it’s all a lesson in the dangers of becoming invested in characters for their spot on a tier list. It’s not that JY is shielding other communities from this phenomenon, it’s simply that other communities were not formed around bad performance expectations.

i really wish jing yuan's lightning lord had 100% forward advance upon reaching 10 stacks or his eidolons at least gave him a way to overcap stacks or a buff to his effect res. yes, acheron is arguably a better lightning unit, and units will always have some kind of flaw within their kit in order to require synergy with others (eg. acheron needing 1-2 other nihility characters to perform at maximum output), and jing yuan has had a lot of soft buffs with gear / planar / etc releases and other support units. he isn't a bad unit by any means and is worth building if you have him, but not worth pulling for. i like him as a character and wish he was better balanced with the direction of the game's meta. i don't doubt we'll see buffs or tweaks to his kit in the future in order to maintain his viability but i am also keeping my hopes low. i want jing yuan to be good, but i also don't feel the need to froth at the mouth when people say he isn't a top DPS unit because he isn't. he works well within a niche much like other units are and serves a decent purpose as and when he's required.

Would be interesting to see if current B tier and worse characters could perform at a high level with crazy relics. I would assume an S tier character with mid relics and investment would perform about the same as some E6 4* characters with god roll stats, but most people with god roll relics whale to also get all the best characters. This would be more for science than to be relatable.

Well I did a 0 Cycle with my Seele using this team but with Sparkle in RM's place and without any limited eidolon or LC and my Seele's ult dealt 200k damage to Yanqing, so it's prob the E1 and LC.
(my Seele's stats are 82/187crit with 3108 atk)
I got him during his first banner and he literally appeared in 20 pity, I was just sniping for Sushang and Tingyun eidolon, so I'm not sure if it's lucky or not.. '_'

i have 340% CD from Double Broken Keel + Sparkle + Bronya, I like seeing the big pp dmg from the unnecessarily obese hyper buffs, but the point still stands, LL is not on-demand dmg.
About if 0 cycle is doable or not, i believe theres a "floor" of stat you need to reach, as if you prolong it to another cycle/mob get to hit you more, you will lose a star due to someone dies. Would be great if you address this for people who havent reach that threshold of damage yet.
For anyone who haven't reached the damage threshold, sustains are always there. 0 cycle clears are out of the question for them (which this video is centered around). And at that point, you want to invest and pull for a limited 5 star sustain to clear comfortably.

Imagine when Jingyuan's Lightning Lord stacks reaches 10 and it immediately launches the FuA and it focuses on the enemy that has larger HP like if there's 2 elites and 3 mobs then it would be:
3 LL hits elite enemy A
3 LL hits elite enemy B
2 LL hits mob enemy A
1 LL hits mob enemy B
1 LL hits mob enemy C
Also if you have 10 LL stacks and when you use his skill/ultimate again you would store the stacks with a max of 3 stacks like Acheron's crimson knot.

I mean, I pulled Jing Yuan when he first came out because Lightning Lord is a fucking Jojo reference staring me in the face. Like a fully autonomous nigh godly entity that moves according to its wielder's commands with the power of lightning? The only thing stopping it from being an actual reference is Jing Yuan (to my knowledge) has never said "yare yare daze". I enjoy the playstyle and the moments when lightning lord comes down with that spear to do damage is badass every single time. I'm not building him with full dedication, but I am slowly getting there. I'm building a follow up set, I need to find time to farm Erudition pieces and level his lightcone.
But I still build other units. Ratio and Acheron is amazing at farming, I cleared my first difficulty 5 Swarm with Ratio. I cleared my first difficulty 5 conundrum 2 gold and gears with Acheron. I am building a Blade Jingliu team because I want to actually test their synergy out even if CCs have been saying "Jingliu's health steal counts to Blade's stacks so they have synergy- yeahiwanttotestthatmyselfdingdong. Point is, exactly as Mr. Pokke says: Build who you want, play who you want. And as the comments (some that I have read) are saying: JY mains, take a chill pill. the General of the Luofu, Divine Foresight, former member of the legendary Quintet and student of former Sword Champion Jingliu, Jing Yuan, has shortcomings just like every other DPS. You don't have to rag on others just to prove that he's better, you hear?

this 0 cycle thing is getting out of touch, 99.99% of player dont even do 0 cycle. i think the best thing to test unit is to keep it relatable with decent invesment and 2-4 cycle clear per node
I think that this type of thing it's not here in this channel, it's more the Gacha Smack thing. Here you'll see more the tryhard 0 cycle side of the things, especially with someone who does the test saying that it is "relatable" using RM E2S1.

Jing yuan is good but the problem is he can't trigger lightning lord on command life would be dream if lightning lord auto attacked at 10 stacks but I still stick to our general he's very fun to play and deals crazy dmg at e0s1, I dont know if thats the case but seele being able to fully utilise any support still does mid dmg tbh she fell off just build dr ratio tbh

is not hard to accept it, you can keep playing jing yuan, but don't impose the narrative that he isn't powercrept when he 100% is powercrept, powercrept is not the same as useless, as shown in here, ALL dps in both early and late 1.x are still doing great, but you will get A LOT more confort from playing the big 3 DPS and recommending someone a 1.0 unit is not a good thing, no matter how much you love the unit.

Ehh not to say anything about character's power but the fact that MoC have the trotter that receive significantly more damage from basic attacks actually give Seele a bit of an advantage
Not neccessarily, especially with Pela debuffing it before the attack and Tingyun giving her buff as well. The trotter has roughly 60k hp, with TY's buff alone Seele can do 60k with her basic due to Benediction, the pela ult is just overkill for it. In a different team? Maybe, for example if you use SW over Pela as you'd never debuff the trotter and maybe no TY on the team. Other characters can just kill it with their AoE instead, so it doesnt'waste their turn.
@@Audaciter2 no seele still get the advantage because she wants to proc resurgence and the bonus damage the trotter receive from basic attacks definitely helps no matter how you put it. Keep in mind our characters stats are not the norm, majority of players have shit gear and the moc buff definitely give seele an edge.
