Nice work, but you said your sponsors name wrong and got it wrong in the description too 😅 They're called "High Performance Academy", not "Horsepower Academy".
1:48 for decades manufacturing for body kits were expensive and alwaaaaaaaaaaays needed LOTS of work to fit properly…now that scanners and 3D print machines are so readily available, I can’t wait to see more and more of these amazing projects. Also…with zero interest in a lot of any sort, I do hope that the technology will make accessories like this more accessible.
3:40 for future projects that don't involve carbon fiber, I recommend not using superglue. It does not hold up to UV or heat and will fail before the ASA. I recommend plastic weld staples. They're not pretty but they hold a lot better than you'd expect, and you can always just sand and bondo the melted portions.
Thank you for documenting this process. I am working on designing and 3D printing a tail section for my motorcycle. This gave me intuitive know-how and step-by-step insight on how to complete that goal. Thanks!
Good work, they came out looking great! Inspired to try covering my plastic over-fenders, but have also gained little appreciation for the joys of doing bodywork lol.
I really like this oem plus look suits the car perfectly. I have only one suggestion. I know it's your first time, but for the next fenders you can try blocks sand the details before the last wet sand. This will remove that waves that are visible on the final shots.
What a great diy project. Sweet little beat too. You've inspired me to do some rear spats for my 97 Corolla G6 (6 gear "sporty" special edition, pictured in profile pic)
I would recommend using blender for making body kits. It’s what I use and with a few easy shortcuts you can resolve quite a few of the mentioned issues you have with your modelling software❤️💪
Legit work mate, thanks friend. I have been looking at 3d printing for miniatures but I think this just sealed the deal. How much was the bambulab model you went for?
@@IMEEMADE Remove the filament at least at the edge... If you want a more durable part, you can remove all the PLA inside, just keep the outside carbon fiber, and reinforce the inside with some layer of fiberglass/carbon fiber
Could you explain how you use the point cloud from the 3D scan as a guide to "fit" the new fender design on them. In the video you only show the frontal view, which is intuitive but i don't see how the point cloud data get part fo your design so that the new fender fit snug against the car body. Would love to try something like that.
Yes I made a quick video on my instagram. You can use the “pull” command in Fusion to get each point on the fender model to attach to the 3D scanned mesh.
I think you could of gone a full filler bog stage before applying the carbon coating. Get it real smooth beforehand. Defiantly can make gloss look smooth.
@ honestly if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t of been able to design kits for cars. I’m doing a whole bumper that is wider to fit front widebody fenders. The front bumper is definitely the most difficult iv had to do
First attempt: you cover your 3D part.... Second attempt: your 3D part is the mold... It's a little bit tricky to make a female mold for few complicated parts, not for wing... 3 or 4 layers of fiber glass are always better/stronger/lighter:more durable than a PLA/PETG core cover of fiberglass....
Im sorry, but I think your t-spline method is really limiting you in actually getting the shapes you want. Once everything is out in the sun you can really see the inorganic warp caused by your drafting method.
Nice work, but you said your sponsors name wrong and got it wrong in the description too 😅

Ahhhhhh!!! I’m the worst 😅 thanks for pointing it out mate!
how??? 😂
"I'm better than I was yesterday, and i think that's pretty cool." ...words to live by buddy. Your BEAT looks awesome.
As a car fan and
3D printer fan and
Classical music fan,
your BGM is so satisfying.
Thank you!
Coming from someone who has worked on carbon fiber and fiberglass on aircraft for 20+years, you did a great job! Keep it up!
Thank you very much!
Man you made this look so easy! Great work!!!
Thank you so much man!
Learned a lot from this, thanks!

Well said!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep that in mind

Thanks for the advice man! Definitely will do that next timd
yo that was sick! thanks for the inspiration :)
Thanks! Glad I could help
We love how this turned out! Great job!
Thank you!! It’s all holding together thanks to you 🙂
Great job! Looks way better than most of aftermarket products!
Thank you! I'm really happy with how they came out.
Bro, just one word: INCREDIBLE!
Greets and love from Germany
Thank you so much!

Awesome! That Corolla looks so dope!
@@IMEEMADE thx man, that's kind of you to say. now go make me some more videos to enjoy! ;)
Great video. Fenders look cool. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the support as always!
Wow! Very great job and video.
Thank you very much!
Please tell me what wing you have on the beat, it looks so good. Also for the carbon you did really well, maybe I should do that as well🤔
Thanks man! It’s a 326 Power wing
Cool beat! Love the number plates in your garage
Thank you!
Cool project! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
thats amazing man! Def need to see the rest
Thanks man! More updates are coming soon!
That is so damn cool. This process will be perfect for my 80 C10 project!
Thanks! C10s are fun projects
Nice job dude. This gives me the confidence to tackle my fenders!
Right on man! You can do it!
they do not look 3D printed at all, well done!
Thank you! I’m really happy with how they came out

I went for the X1C with the AMS cost like $1400 USD all in. They’re having a Black Friday sale right now!
Very cool man! So they are basically made out of the filament and covered with a sheet of carbon fiber? How do you plan on bolting them on
?
Yup! They’ll be double sided taped on for now and in the future likely panel bonded if I ever commit to a design lol
@@IMEEMADE Cool! But if it were for you to do bolt holes, how would you design them?
@@kizoyumeOne idea might be to use heat-set threaded inserts. They are basically a thread you melt in with a soldering iron
@@IMEEMADE Remove the filament at least at the edge...

Awesome result. Looking forward to seeing this progress!
Any plans to share or sell the scan of your beat?
Thank you! Yes definitely. It’ll be in our website for free download soon!
Great work
Well done. And great job getting a tool everyone should have for free that cost too much

did you got itchy when working with carbon fiber?
Yes but wearing long sleeves help
I would definitely recommend blender for a project like this but it came out REALLY good!
Thank you! Yes definitely need to take a crash course on blender soon
Looks like a ford escort from uk from the side that’s mad haha cool project
Brilliant 👍
Thank you
2:13 i saw him model an he forgot one N-gon, a face with more than 4 vertice, and that makes me crazy 🤣
😂😆🤣 I got it eventually haha
Great job it looks great
Thanks!

🫣😁🙂
인생을 즐겁게 사시는 모습이 너무 멋있습니다. 화이팅!
감사합니다 ☺️
Nice.
nice! i wonder how stable it is with 3d print + 1 layer of carbon fiber. might actually hold up in comparison to the original thin steel panel.
It’s pretty sturdy! Though I’d say the weakest link are the seams which need some extra reinforcement

Wow soooooo wide…..lol
Wider than it was before 🤷
