A tip for the golden eggs is to also keep the one from Chicken Island, and use it at the beginning of the fight when he stays still running his mouth for you. That way you can hit him directly, and not that Plaga around him. Learned the hard way that hitting the Plaga is not effective. For anyone trying to S+ Professional.
In case you used all your eggs for healing, that throne room where the painting of Salazar is (it’s the same room that U-3 throws Leon into the pit where he fights Verdugo) also has chickens that can drop eggs, although you prolly shouldn’t devote too much time on waiting for a chicken to drop an egg if going for an S or S+ rank.

@@mphillimore2 My comment wasn’t about doing the Merchant requests, it was about getting an egg to throw at Salazar for a significantly easier boss fight, especially on Professional. The chickens where you can get an egg (and a Golden egg) just happens to be in the same room as the Merchant request, which I was using to help identify the room. And before Capcom threw the Exclusive Perk Ticket microtransactions up, people were absolutely completing Merchant requests for Professional S+ runs, just not this late in the game. Now, getting spinels is largely pointless cuz you can just throw some cash at Capcom and get an unlimited-ammo weapon at the beginning of the Professional (or any difficulty) playthrough.

You absolutely can get S+ using a Chicago Sweeper, the Handcannon, or the Primal Knife. That’s how I got my Cat Ears. And for the Handcannon, it’s no Bonus weapons, not no deluxe weapons. Deluxe weapons (Sentinel Nine, Skull Shaker) are totally fine. You’re spreading around misinformation, my guy.
How about the Easter Egg with the merchant. He can be heard humming the soundtrack from the original RE4 only to break off into coughing after a bit. There's also the burning enemy from Chapter 13 making a return from the original game.
Leon sitting in Salazar's throne is also the same as when he sits in Saddler's in the original. He even has the same "pensive" pose and says "There's no time for resting."
Salazar can be downed with regular and brown eggs as well. They don’t do the same huge amount of damage, but it is useful to get him into a vulnerable state where you can pop a few magnum rounds in him if you have it

Andy must really like this game considering that he mentioned the bell in the last video as well. With the most recent update adding the Mercenaries mode, if you get all characters unlocked, you also get the Hand Cannon unlock, a throwback to RE4 2005 Merc mode after getting an S on all stages with all characters.
You just need to S rank all 3 stages, no need to unlock characters. I did it right away with Leon and went back later to clear with other characters for fun
To be fair to Leon, this was supposed to be an investigation not a war. He came armed and with two local cops. In most situations that would have been enough to have a conversation. He wasn't expecting a fight, let alone to be trapped in the village from hell. This isn't really a common situation, or wasn't at that point.
To not be fair to Leon, anyone with the resources to kidnap the President of The United States daughter, and secure her in a remote village in Spain, probably requires more resources than one special operative and a couple of cops.
Obviously because of writing, but Leon was pretty much having a marathon of "Being in the wrong place at the wrong time." His first day as an official cop in Racoon City the night a zombie outbreak hits and nuked the whole city down, to having military training as compensation for being a sole survivor there. Just for fate to put him into another mutated man-made hell. This time instead of a Bubonic plague, it's a cult worshiping roach infestation.
If a daughter of the PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES has gone missing, you can bet that he's not gonna send someone with just a piece of handgun with 10 rounds. It is NOT a common situation right from the beginning.
One small detail that I noticed on my second playthrough is that if you stop by the door where the first El Gigante boss fight happens you can here him snoring behind the door.

Maximum range for a 5.56mm is about 3.6 kilometers, or a bit over 2 miles. That being said, i doubt the projectile has enough momentum to make the bell ring more than once
The village is actually modeled after a real one in Guatemala. I had to go there on a business trip so I decided to check it out. The people in charge of it were happy to have me there and even let me try and shoot the bell. Unfortunately though, it's not possible.
You can get a golden egg on the "chicken island" on the lake. Hold on to it and get the other golden egg from the throne room. Then go into the Salazar fight with two golden eggs. Two golden eggs defeat him. You gotta hit his body inside the mouth, which is easy in the beginning. When he's stunned from that, hit him again with the other golden egg. It's nearly as fast as using a rocket on him.
1 - Leon isn't poorly equipped to rescue the president's daughter. That's not his job. They (Leon and the two Spanish cops) were going up there to check out some eyewitness reports and verify. If Leon learned she was there, then he was supposed to call in support. But things went pear-shaped straight away. 2 - The gun probably wasn't made by Robert Kendo, but his brother Joseph, who was in another city during the destruction of Racoon City. None of these Easter egg videos draws attention to our first meeting with Luis. On my first play through, I came across a writhing sack and freaked out thinking it was that mysterious one you find in the prison on the island.
Another way to avoid most of the village fight if you have the Punisher is to stay near the entrance bottlenecking the villagers and taking out a few at a time. Kill enough and the bell rings. This happens quite quick even missing out Dr Salvador. Helps with a speed run I guess.
The hiker on the altar comes up in Captain Eggcellent video today too. He doesn't make Andy's good point about they could have cleaned up after themselves. It's a wonder how these cults survive with such lazy work ethic.
There was a comment of Salazar during his boss fight which the old Version of him said to Leon in the 2005 Resi4. "Why don't you show me what a first class is like? Through your own actions". Or something like that
I always thought that part when Leon sits and poses on the throne was a reference to Devil May Cry because I think if I remember right Dante does the same pose when he sits in his chair.

This is not exactly an Easter egg, but when Leon passes the giant clock tower in RE 4 the clock strikes 3 o clock. In RE 2, Leon/Claire restarts the Police Station clock tower and the bell strikes 3 o clock when it is restarted.
I would definitely say that, while very well know, "master of unlocking" isn't the most famous example of resi-speak, but rather "Jill sandwich" would be. May just be my opinion, though.

Another way to avoid most of the village fight if you have the Punisher is to stay near the entrance bottlenecking the villagers and taking out a few at a time. Kill enough and the bell rings. This happens quite quick even missing out Dr Salvador. Helps with a speed run I guess.
The hiker on the altar comes up in Captain Eggcellent video today too. He doesn't make Andy's good point about they could have cleaned up after themselves. It's a wonder how these cults survive with such lazy work ethic.

There was a comment of Salazar during his boss fight which the old Version of him said to Leon in the 2005 Resi4. "Why don't you show me what a first class is like? Through your own actions". Or something like that

I always thought that part when Leon sits and poses on the throne was a reference to Devil May Cry because I think if I remember right Dante does the same pose when he sits in his chair.
DMC owes it's existence to Resident Evil. DMC was one of the games that came from the development of RE 4.
In the original game Leon does the same pose and yes, it is a reference to Devil May Cry. It’s in the remake because it was in the original. A reference to a reference.

This is not exactly an Easter egg, but when Leon passes the giant clock tower in RE 4 the clock strikes 3 o clock. In RE 2, Leon/Claire restarts the Police Station clock tower and the bell strikes 3 o clock when it is restarted.

I would definitely say that, while very well know, "master of unlocking" isn't the most famous example of resi-speak, but rather "Jill sandwich" would be. May just be my opinion, though.

Yeah, it has to be with a sniper rifle. I tried with the handgun and couldn't even find the bell through the trees.
Great video! Although the Resident Evil 4 remake is out, I'm still playing a lot of the original on mobile. In fact, on my latest episode of my RE4 series, I just passed through the cabin with Louis and both paths. It was intense! Keep up the great work!

Redoing things in the original aren't really easter eggs. Its a Remake. Its the point. The knife from marvin, Ashleys unlocking quote, etc, Yes.

Why keeping something that is ur weakness instead of getting rid of it? I dont know how. Drown it in the river, buried in an unknown location with no maps or notes to find or give it to a salesman and sell it with no questions asked
You have to shoot the lake at least once. First thing I did when I got there.

Nope, you can do it on your very first playthrough, but of course it's much harder to hit the bell with just the pistol since it doesn't have a scope.
Ok so I haven't played this game on PS5 yet but I'm pretty sure that the interact button has always been square on PS.

In the original, he takes on that pose when he sits in Saddler's throne-like chair. As for it being a Symphony of the Night reference, I really don't know.
