You can't violate HIPAA laws without HIPAA training. The onus is on those trained in HIPAA to keep any confidential info private. None of these people seem to know that, which leads me to believe that they might not even be trained themselves.
Excellent job! Also, THINK, even if they DID hold up private patient information, even directly in front of your camera, YOU would not be violating anything. I'm fairly sure HIPPA doesn't apply to members of the public, it only applies to the company/employees who are gathering the information.
You see what the police officers think about people taking video not only at one of these dispensaries but also at the police station. They presume you’re trying to get them to assault you so you can sue them. This is a result of poor training. They expose themselves to people who watch these videos every day. They are not accustomed to body cameras and videos by private individuals keeping an eye on them, in the past you could’ve been arrested and assaulted and there would be nothing you could do about it, times have changed they didn’t.
You are not just holding police accountable. You are also teaching people. Schools do not teach kids that they have these rights. That is why this is so important.

As someone who has worked in the medical field for 13 years, I have conducted internal HIPAA audits within the company I worked for. It is beyond comprehension that so many people don't even understand HIPAA. The responsibility lies completely on the medical facility and not Joe Q. Public. That being said, HIPAA violations are TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY, punishable by hefty fines that could easily put the medical facility out of business! The next time someone tells you about a "HIPAA violation", tell them to call the Office of Civil Rights and report the "HIPAA violation". They will be opening a can of worms for themselves that will NOT go away easily or anytime soon. They will have to jump through all kinds of hoops just to even prove that they are HIPAA compliant.

As someone who's watch thousands of hours of CRAs, it never fails to amaze me how dispensaries always flip out as hard as they do, 100% of the time. You can't violate HIPAA laws without HIPAA training. The onus is on those trained in HIPAA to keep any confidential info private.
None of these people seem to know that, which leads me to believe that they might not even be trained themselves.
Ignorance is this.
Their ignorance of HIPAA is apparent.
Excellent job! Also, THINK, even if they DID hold up private patient information, even directly in front of your camera, YOU would not be violating anything. I'm fairly sure HIPPA doesn't apply to members of the public, it only applies to the company/employees who are gathering the information.
Only people trained in hippa can violate hippa i think
the amount of cars in the States is crazy !
“Make sure you get that on your camera!”
“Sorry ma’am. I didn’t bring my wide angle lens.”
Gotta love the 'unfortunately' part 😡
@@toolegittoquit_001 Just once I'd like to see a cop mention freedom in a positive way.
I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve! Gimme gimme gimme 😂
🥉.
Even if they held up info to the window, it's still impossible for you to violate HIPAA, if you aren't in professional control of the info.
I love the flow of events from the public interactions to body cam footage. Great work
You are My Hero !!! Kult News Rocks the 🏠 ❤ Keep Flexing OUR Rights
Great job Mike. Love the videos. Keep em coming.
You are not just holding police accountable. You are also teaching people. Schools do not teach kids that they have these rights. That is why this is so important.
You are very correct. My schools didn’t teach me about my rights.
I'm 61 and never would even think to ask a perfect stranger what or why they're recording! Who gave birth to all these busybody snobs who think its normal to act like this? And I live in So.California! I don't see ppl act like this.
Really I see alot of videos out of California with people acting like this an worse.
@lynnsavoy1694 me too.
It comes from loosing the war on terrorism. Now all the Karens and Darrens of our nation think they are Rambo trying to stop the Taliban on US soil. Lol
I like how the one lady was like we don’t allow recording devices on our premises…as the employee is recording.😂😂😂
K & D detector ? 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Never heard this one. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
You are awesome with the mic& camera, stay true and keep them videos coming, ❤️📸❤️📸❤️📸
Right? The idea that the general public needs to be concerned with a HIPAA violation is absolute insanity.
Let’s face it, they’re not the best and brightest in society. They sell weed. Soon it will be recreational in Ohio. They talk like they’re brain surgeons or something.
“This is a medical facility!”
Okay, if you say so. 🙄

@@KULTNEWSa lot of people need this legitimately for medical needs though myself being one of them.
@@gyme6077Mike doesn't need any, he's always on grass.
@@Zodiacalesotericmatrix honestly Mike seems like he has blazed a few doinks in his day. I just hope my local dispensary who actually has very nice people don't get caught up.
Love your work, now that you guys decided to do audits full time, hope we get to see you more often!!
Ah?... The Electric Company, I really miss watching, great show
I am right now in the center of a dispute with a local county Veterans Affairs office and the county corporation counsel. They also think Hipaa applies to me. So funny. Can't wait for the outcome.
Only the medical staff in charge of records can violate by allowing the records to seen by unauthorized public..😂👍
Miss Shake-Her-Booty wants to call the police for Mike recording. Meanwhile, she committed a traffic violation in the state of Ohio by using her phone while driving. There is a zero tolerance rule in the state.
I was always told that marijuana is supposed to make people relaxed. The people you record at these stores are anything but. Paranoia would be the symptom I see.
@@user-tf6lb8ls2z I'm better off staying off the dope, period.
Its not about the weed, nothing can help those people. They would be somewhere else buying anti depressants.
@@selokin3974 You don't know that. You're just eager to defend your drug of choice.
This video shows a lot of 'relaxed' pants. You might think physically sales people might increase sales.

K&D detector!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 my man you come up with the best head scratchers.
I called my buddy from the police academy! Wow, you are well connected.
Why do so many police officers go around with the attitude that having and exercising rights is somehow devious and essentially unlawful but for that damned Constitution?
And They Would Of Got Away With It, If It Wasn't For Them Pesky Kids...
Said By All Scooby Doo Villains.
Cuz they want to hurt people
Invasion of privacy?
What about those "security" cameras mounted on the side of the building?

Thank you
"He's also taking pictures of these kids and I'm pretty sure they're minors." Damn, she's really trying hard to escalate. 👀
Pretty sure kids are majors, major pains lol.
So they told the Police they were letting minors in their facility.
So they reported themselves?
@@Lucky13RavensThey didn’t tell the cops that they were letting minors in their facility.

Ive watched all of the audits on your channel. They are so entertaining! Keep em coming!
Whomever tried to train these clowns on HIPAA regulations FAILED!
"K&D Detector"...I Love It !😀
Always entertaining and educational. Thanks KULT !! 😂
They must think every dash cam driving by is breaking the law, everyone pulling into their parking lot with a dashcam is suuuper breaking the law. The adjacent businesses with security cams, breaking the law all day every day. It's amazing they even sell phones with cameras since you can't point them at anyone or anything without breaking the law! /s There's no critical thinking in this world.
And Google Earth too!
How do Americans not understand that you can film anything from the public sidewalk? I’m dumbfounded.
Our Govern-mental entities like ignorant sheepeople.
This is a reminder that these are retailers, not medical facility and these are just workers not health professionals. No different than a Smoke shop or Candy Store.
There sure is a lot of sidewalk lawyers in this country!
Ask for a copy of their Notice of Privacy Practices if they cite HIPAA. They have to provide it upon request to anyone that asks for it.
I used to live in Dayton and I occasionally had to use this one, but as far as customer service, it ranks well down on the list.
It can be difficult to order online which is the only way you can order. If you have problems there's nobody to call because they won't answer the phone.
I go to the one in Monroe there all really nice ,all seem to be smokers haha
That's all of Ohio still. Lol
As someone who's watch thousands of hours of CRAs, it never fails to amaze me how dispensaries always flip out as hard as they do, 100% of the time.
If there's a dispensary operating out in the open like that, one would assume that weed is legal where they are, so what are they so paranoid about? It definitely feels like all these places are hiding something.
Because they are targets of black market criminals, how are you fruaditors so stupid.
Three hours or so. Nice plenty of time to rewatch other kult news again!
Grew up in Trenton, I'd like to see how they pan out.
Wow you should of tossed a dollar at her. 🤣🤣
This cop actually did know about HIPPA and 1st amendment press freedom, so that was good. But characterizing KULT as "trying to get us to fight him" seems a little crazy.
Yeah, this cop describes what Mike is doing as "a waste of time". I wonder why. Is it a waste of time to expose tyrants?
Thank you for doing this for us all! 💜
Cop told the lady of the Marijuana dispensery that Auditors try to "rile cops up, to get cops to fight them so they can file a lawsuit." That's such a dumb thing to say.
@@twiggyramieriez5382 Nope. Try again.
Shows what the cop really thinks and how wrong he is.
Nicely done.
More great work Mike & Stacy!
It makes me sick when cops suggest to uneducated reporting parties who are wasting public resources that it’s ‘unfortunate’ that people have rights.
"He's on grass, so it's not your property, so .."

You should have told him “let me take a picture of your license plate because impersonating a police officer IS a crime”.
How'd you get Officer Dave Chapelle in the Bonus Footage!? Amazing work, Mike. The Force IS with you.
Even if THEY held patient info up to the window and you captured it they would still be the ones violating it not you.😂
Only the caregiver can violate HIPPA laws.
