That is such a sad story! I am so glad you were kind enough to listen to him and let him share the story with you. I am sure that meant a lot to him. I am so sorry it won’t run now. …That really stinks!!!
I love that 900. I've owned an '80 Cb 750 since 1988. It's a great bike but I always wanted that 900 too. They're getting harder & harder to find these days, but not impossible. Hopefully one day I can pick one up. Good luck with yours!!
I'm not sure that it is all the way gone - but alot of it was resolved by making sure the air pressure in the shocks was correct. The rear shock was way low - getting that back into the acceptable range improved this a ton.
That's a beaut Mike! Great story too! Would you consider a bagger build man? It would be a complete rip down, but you and the kido would be able to tour in style on it.
What a lovely video, I'm taking care of a CB1300f (or maybe it looks after me 😊) so I guess the great great grandchild of the CB900. What a beautiful bike, its not just a bike it's a part of biking history. Great share. Stay blessed and safe on two wheels, your biker brother Traveller MIA 🇬🇧 subscribed to offer my support, fellow motovlogger 👍
Thank you for the kind words and for the subscription - I'll have to check out your work as well and dont be surprised if I reach our for some assistance - haha! CB1300f - I bet that is a blast to ride :)
@@ACECafeBikes the cb's just make me feel home as I learnt on a CB and feel a nostalgia over cb's like no other bike, its irrational but I can live with that rational ☺️😉
at last we could see the whole bike. superb! 👍👍 it would be an awesome project to have for sure, for whatever it will become. another cafe racer perhaps or maybe a brat one?
Exactly, looking forward to starting another project, but at the same time need to continue with what we already have going on. Will be coming back to this one from time to time, but it'll be a slow start for sure.
Very nice! 1980 is a popular year for cb900's 😉 I always thought cb900's just beg to be turned into bobbers but that was never really my style, plus it kills the cruiser aspect I think unless you can get really creative. The stories you hear when buying old motorbikes, thanks for sharing this one.
Thanks Doc, getting lots of great ideas, lots to think about, we'll see where it goes. Thanks for watching and adding your thoughts. I'm looking forward to seeing this one come together.
Awe man! Just restore it and keep it as is….that would be an awesome “shop truck”…pick up parts, run errands…etc…love it!
That was the plan at first, but I think that is going to change. I'm still on the hunt for an old Goldwing - that I would leave alone (I think) ;)

Yeah, that guy's kid SUCKS - however, we'll get the bike running and it'll be good for us :)

Thanks so much!
You may have already solved the wobble, but maybe the steering stem bearings are out of adjustment. 🤔

That does sound like a good build to do some day!! Not sure what we're going to do just yet. What do you have your eye on for your next one?
I agree! ❤️
Cb900 are awesome machines. This bike can look good in any form! I think cafe would be sweet or a bagger like it is now. Anyways, congratulations! 🤘💀
Thanks Steve. Honestly, probably leaning towards cafe, but anything is possible. Thanks for watching.

How about a drag inspired conversion??
Whoa, that would be cool, but probably way over my skill level 👍😀🤙
Maybe a cafe racer but with Honda race color scheme?

I have 1980 cb 900, 30,000 miles on it. My concern is high rpm at 65 or 70.
Do you think you have it in low range? I always rode mine in high.
Keep it all orginal
That is an option - not sure that will be the case, but there again Chase really likes it like this
