Baby Born Dead At 5 Months, 8 Minutes Later Doctors Are Shocked By Miracle
Bex and her husband Martin couldn’t be more excited about the birth of their daughter. During the course of the pregnancy, everything seemed to be going well.
And like many other parents to be, the couple had prepared everything in their house for the arrival of their baby.
But everything would take an unexpected turn - in an incident that would leave thousands shocked.
Bex and her husband Martin were thrilled when they were told they were going to have a baby. Like many parents to be, they had high expectations and couldn’t wait to hold their baby in their arms.
At first it seemed like everything was normal and Bex and Martin planned everything perfectly in time for the arrival of their baby.
But one day, when they went to see their doctor for a checkup, they found out that the baby had heart problems.
At five months, they were forced to have an emergency cesarean and just as the baby left the mother’s belly - her heart stopped beating.
    The baby was born dead.
When the mom couldn’t hear any cries or screams coming from her newborn daughter, she knew something was wrong.
Bex started screamed desperately when she realized that her daughter was in fact dead.
    A miracle
Bex couldn’t stop crying, but eight minutes later a real miracle would occur.
The doctors were trying their best to make the impossible happen and somehow - they managed.
With the help of electro-shock treatment, they managed to revive the baby, who’d been named Willow. The little girl was then taken to intensive care where doctors performed something that could very well have been taken from a science fiction movie.
In a procedure called ‘brain hypothermia’, also known as ‘cooling therapy’, they placed the girl in an incubator and lowered her body temperature to 91,4 °F. The reason is to make sure that there is no permanent damage to the brain due to lack of oxygen during those long minutes.
Willow remained in that treatment for four days. During this time, her parents were not even able to touch her hands.
Bex and Martin were by Willow’s side the whole time, hoping that Wilow would get stronger by the day.
“She didn’t cry for four weeks. Because she had so many tubes and they hurt her throat, she didn’t know how to cry,” Bex told The Mirror. “It’s strange, but all we wanted was to hear our baby cry.”
After four days inside of the incubator, the little girl’s temperature was stabilized and luckily she was left with no brain damage. This will allow her to lead a normal life.
    The Recovery
It’s been almost a year and a half since Willow was born and she seems to be fine.
“She has just been amazing in her recovery. We have been told there is still a risk that she could suffer developmental issues, but so far she is perfectly fine,” dad Martin told The Mirror. “Now she’s just a perfectly healthy baby.”
The advancements made in medical treatments are just mind-blowing. Thank goodness everything went well and Willow will be able to live a life full of love together with her parents.
I wish her all the luck in the world and I hope she has a very happy life!
A big thanks to these doctors and nurses for saving little Willow’s life. The work done by medical staff is priceless - what would we do without them? They are true heroes!

We had twins. They were born 7 weeks premature and our son was fine. Our daughter, who was fine and moving moments earlier, was born dead. No heartbeat and not breathing. She was intubated and taken to NICU with her brother. They’re about to turn 30 and she’s perfectly fine. A US Army Combat Veteran and now a college student, she’s one of the brightest and kindest people I know. She told me once that she wasn’t afraid to die because she’d already done it once. I hope their daughter turns out to be as beautiful, smart and sweet as ours has! Many blessings for you all!

Totally agree and blessings to your daughter, family and you. From personal experience it's not an easy road. I get angry reading some here though that tout preemies don't or can't survive, blah, blah but know nothing but what they chose to think or pull from thin air. I'd prefer those who don't know, never experienced it, walked the floors, spent sleepless nights hunched over at a bedside, would ask instead of assuming followed with false bs. Tough road, glad you all made it through.

someonewhoknows1000 my cousin was born in 1964, at 28 weeks, and weighed only 2 pounds 2 ounces. She was in the hospital for over a year, but she survived. She’s now 53. She had some developmental delays early on, but went on to earn her BSN and become an orthopedic RN. She was the first “micro-preemie” born in Dallas, Texas, to survive. Most babies born under those circumstances back then, didn’t make it because the technology needed to support them hadn’t been invented yet. You just can’t discount the basic human will to live!

so sad, everyone pt is different. and back then it would have helped delivering in a pioneering NICU. Medicine and science have come so far. but with each baby under 34 weeks the risks get higher. God bless you I hope Jackie is happy, when I started in 1979 it used to be the norm that we couldn't save under 28 weeks then it kept getting higher. we improved because of all thr research and clinical trials at the bigger hospitals.

At 24 years old, Mom told me after I came home from Nam the story of how i'd been still born, all black and blue, due to delayed delivery. The doctor had set me aside and was working on her. The Nurse noticed something and started to jump start me. That Nurse got to name me.Mom was a bit emotional from me coming home from the service and tearfully told about my birth. Am now 66 years old and still smile at every Nurse I see.

    • @someonewhoknows1000

      Sheila Tagg
Good, it should be a moving video because it's very true. I just posted above and gave details to rlyndieb who felt and thought the same. I gave medical tags for those who want to know or learn. Mothers would all agree that their children are the most important and when trouble comes, they'd give their life in place of them. So I gave tags to medical facts because many might already have their children born but knowledge is power and we never know when it might rear an ugly head with future grandchildren or someone else we love that is close to us. People need support, not doubters or naysayers. Compassion goes a long way to people healing. Father's also care deeply and hurt for their children. Can you imagine if you were them posting this story or video and then read these comments below here? Shameful with so many but at least asked more in a question form, not an affirmed tone it's not possible.

Maybe but maybe not. It all depends on the cause of the actual findings for the emergency delivery by C-Section. An example only, but if the Meconium was released before birth it could cause the need for an emergency C-section. Knowing what I do, I say that is an example. You can Google facts which I find medicine very fascinating, ever changing, and evolving with medical breakthroughs. I'll leave tags below. Since Meconium is the "1st stool" from the rectum that is not supposed to be expelled until after birth, I highly doubt that was the case but without info, it's possible. In medicine, anything is possible. I doubt heart surgery will be needed anytime in this infants future because any defect, such as congenital heart defects that can range from mild to very severe would be know soon after birth, but definitely before a month plus passes. However, some heart defects resolve on their own soon after birth. The fact the video reports everything is great, I'm sure it will always remain a happy healthy future.

Really? Wow, I'll call my 2 nephews then and let them know that you apparently know more. They might be totally surprised since they are much older now, professional's with degrees. One a mega company owner, and the other chose a military career. I guess you're so smart I'll let the doctors know the FDA was wrong for approving those trials in the "pulmonary surfactant clinical trials". The years prior for scientist to develop a theory for the 1st phase in mid to late 1997-99 research. I'll believe you that my nephews aren't living today because you're right. They weren't given the surfactant in the 1980's release of the 1st babies to be saved at under 20 plus weeks gestation. We will believe you instead and believe that those babies received the trial study placebo instead of surfactant, never did die because of course they too could be born at under or at 20 weeks gestation and up per your say-so and educated knowledge. So, we will ignore those who went before, were involved, lived and this isn't of course why preemies today aren't surviving today as this technology went into effect? I'll also notify their parents and tell them to sue the hospitals for bilking them hundreds of thousands of dollars for no medical treatments since no preemies can survive that young, inpatient care for close to a year after birth and the costs over the next 10 plus years they had to report for the gov study follow-up needed by the FDA so clinical trials can be ongoing, and further developed! A double blind study means it doesn't end when the baby finally goes home. It means that child has to be followed so they know the health, learning disabilities, and life expectancy on a years basis for numerous years. I'm sure insurance companies would want to know too that according to you, they are chumps and paid for nothing, right? Never happened, couldn't happen?
Don't talk bs you don't know. Learn instead to ask open questions instead to get truthful answers and directed to truth, not pulled from someones arse. You weren't there to see the parents praying their preemie wasn't getting a placebo and hoped for surfactant from a calf's lungs. Those who were the very 1st preemies were 20 weeks gestation because ventilator efficiency wasn't able to save babies missing surfactant but even adults can't survive on a lung ventilator from bacterial or viral infections but they have SURFACTANT!
My nephews didn't get the synthetic, they had calf surfactant before synthetic was produced and perfected. Not in Buffalo, it was Houston but many trials were tested around the USA and internationally. I suggest if you're not in medicine or a specialized professional doctor or pulmonologist, don't say what you know nothing about.

There has never been a baby born at 20 weeks who lived. There have been some born at 22 weeks. There is actually another way to count gestational age that is not very common. It put the gestational age at 2 weeks behind the normal way of counting it. So if a baby was born at 22 weeks you could say it was born at 20 weeks, but that would be misleading.

Sarah Rotar if you think about it it was about 22 weeks because there may only be 4 weeks in a month but that's only 28 days so the 2 or 3 extra days times five adds up to about 1 or 2 weeks
