My first ever miniature was a truly bad attempt at a Loyalist War Hound, but thanks to you and channels like you I’m now up to 35 Marines, 15 Scouts, Five Terminators, a Rhino and three Dreadnoughts. It’s been a joy to join a fandom as both welcoming and hilariously entertaining as the good side of this fandom has been. Keep up the good work! :D
You were at my side 3 years ago with my first attempt on a mini figure. A Geey Knight dude. Hats of to you, sir and congratulations for the well deserved 100k.
That's a massive improvement over your first model. My first 40k model was a Necron Warrior. I have improved a little bit over the years, but you can't tell when my first model is mixed in with the rest in my army. So, I'm still pretty bad.
My first mini was an Ultramarine... however I painted it pink and gunmetal! I really think I should recreate it with everything I have picked up these past few months from you!!!
Congratulations Lloyd! Well-deserved and thank you for all the great content. I couldn't have gone as far in my painting journey without your tutorials, thank you. Side Note: If you ever do RUclips memberships I'll be there.
Hard to imagine you painted the original thats like something i would do 😂😂😂 But good colour choice change on the green Armour, that just brought it all together ❤
Raptors Kill Team. I've gotten a lot of compliments, and not a few "there's no way that's your first mini" statements, but I'm a *very* methodical planner when it comes to painting. Unlike my good friend who subscribes to the YOLO-school of painting, I have a playlist of HOURS of tutorials that I went through in detail, folders of saved clips on my HDD for specific ideas, a note pad with several lines of colors/techniques, with LOTS of lines scratched out, and I did this *looong* before I ever nipped the first piece off the sprue. I keep the Kill Team on my cabinet at work, but the Sergeant stays on my desk my keyboard. 😁
I am the same. All because I sat down and learned it all and actually applied what I learned to the models. I went straight to edge highlighting and quickly in volumetric stuff ( it helps I have an art background in pencil so my hand is very steady already and I have an understanding of colour theory and other art stuff ) and I think I have surpassed the average painter overall. Im still learning and still trying to improve further and further though.
Originally a 3rd ed. Home-brew space marine sgt from the starter box, hobby didn't last long... Recently started again, with a Raptors sgt from the Phobos kill team 💪🏻
First mini? Either a Dark Eldar or a Space Marine from the 3rd edition 40k boxed set. My first conversion came from that box too, where I took the leftover heavy bolter from the Landspeeder and put it on my Space Marine captain ^_^ At least your scout wasn't an absolutely terrible attempt at doing white on black shoulder pads! :P
Plastic Tactical Marine from the 2nd Edition boxset, still standing in my showcase. Did a lot of repainting old miniatures, but he will always stay the same.
First warhammer miniature i painted wasnt actually from any warhammer game, it was Citadels metal Judge Dredd on Bike (Lawmaster), i bought it from Athena in Kings Lynn, not too far from me, IDKW but i liked the look of him and really wanted to get him painted up. Althought, i could be entirely wrong about this and it could have been the inconvenienced dwarf, also from citadel, this would have been way back in the very mid 1980s!
My first model was Abaddon the Despoiler. Honestly I'm good with him as is but I would love to paint a new one to compare like you did. But I do think I'll paint as I would now and not a reproduction.

Sounds wicked - and thanks!
Excellent work mate! Great to have you on board with the challenge and congratulations on 100k!
Thank you!
Great painting 💕💕

Awesome - and thanks!
My first model was my ork. I am 100% going to try this.
😍
My first mini was a space marine, from the 9th edition paint kit. Ultramarine 100% 😊
Congrats on the 100k
Thanks
A dark angel squatty from the early 90’s starter box.

Go for it mate

Cheers Niko - coming soon I hope!
Hi Niko - I have been thinking about YT memberships - could I ask - what kind of perks would you expect or like for your membership?
Hard to imagine you painted the original thats like something i would do 😂😂😂

The tactical squad out of the 3rd ed starter set.
Nice!
Your style is your style 😉

As I started in the pandemic, it was the easy to build assault intercessors as blood angels
Was the good ol black and brown ink in a screw on lid pot back in those days, the dark ages of shading hahaha
That's right!
Congrats brother! Happy to be here, and the content is top. Many thanks for the guidance -sincerely, a noob
Thanks!
For me it was a space marine land raider in the colors of the ultramarines back in the early 90s so 3rd edition
Cracking model!
I painted my first mini using one of your guides. Silver Templar Intercessor. Nice Guy 😁
Awesome :)
Great video, as always! Congrats on your subs, and good luck on making this your full-time job! You can do it! Live the dream!
Thanks!

Nice - good plan - always nice to see how far you have come!
The imperial pilot from the battle for Macarage
Cracking little mini
First models were the Space Marine Flamer units from the starter pack. All 3 of them are stained with Agrax Earthshade and only 1 still has both arms
Oh nice! Is that the most recent one?
Planning to do something for this challenge myself. Still haven’t picked what I’ll end up doing.
Look forward to seeing it

Awesome!
I can’t remember if it was the 1990s Dark Angel captain with the massive feathered helmet, or it was a high elf spearman. One of the two.
I remember that captain!
@@ThePaintingCoach I wish I could get my hands on one to paint him now
The glow-up here is ace. Could I ask what brush you used in the vid?
Cheers - it's a Rosemary and Co S33, size 1
A set of 3 Ultramarines
My first model was Abaddon the Despoiler. Honestly I'm good with him as is but I would love to paint a new one to compare like you did. But I do think I'll paint as I would now and not a reproduction.
Sweet
An imperial fist infiltrator
First model I ever painted: Plastic Defiler. It was a disaster 🤣
Brave!
It's absolutely trashed now and in various shards unfortunately. But at least I got another a few years later.
Warhammer fantasy Lizardmen Saurus circa ‘96….
U didnt cam cream up his face lol 😅
Probably for the best based on my first attempt 🤣
