Same reaction i had when i put a small turbo on my s2000! Went from 195whp to 290, and it's just unbelievable how amazing the car is. Putting a turbo on any naturally aspirated car is sooo rewarding. Spooling my turbo for the first time was hands down one of the best moments of my life.
The moment you both enjoy the feeling that the car gives you reminds me of a couple of moments from MCM. It is the joy of driving your perfect car. You know you went in the right way when you show that smile

What's the parts cost like for this Turbo build? How much did the whole turbo kit cost, intercooler, new rad, pipes, ECU, turbo ect and how much did the mapping cost?

The true beauty of a Miata is the curb weight. You add enough HP through a turbo and the weight/HP ration shoots through the roof. That's why it feels so drastically different.
I can already feel the exitement. I have an NB 10th Anniversary 1.8. And next month i'm gonna turbocharge it. The exitement i have just by deciding it is amazing. BRAAAAAAA STUtutu.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's back pressure or something putting force on the turbo fin spin thingys. It's bad for the turbo but it sounds dope
Doesn't sound like it's running a bov. What you're hearing is turbo flutter, when the throttle body snaps shut, the air has nowhere to go without a bov so it just surges back out the turbo. Shortens the life of a journal bearing turbo, but a proper ball bearing turbo takes it like a champ.
Alex you should add a dose pipe ( aussie term ) Basicly replace that rubber pipe that connects your air filter with a stainless one, it will make it flutter much louder. keep in mind the more the pipe is bent to a 90 the deeper the flutter will be. Have fun boosting!
This video is cool, looking into getting an NA miata. I think after watching this, I will turbo charge my miata. Would like to see videos with Phil at 200 hp at the wheels!! Keep em coming!!
Alex! Awesome car man! One thing I noted though: You gotta get your lap harnesses lower on your body. In the event of a collision, having the low harness around your gut and not your waist is dangerous. Cheers from 'Murrica.

an I4 and 180hp is just enough (and a turbo.... and a lightweight car....) :D
