- www.stvincent.edu | Fred Rogers addresses the graduates of Saint Vincent College at its 2000 Commencement, emphasizing the importance of honoring the dignity of each person. “In loving and appreciating our neighbor, we are participating in something extremely sacred,” he said - a timeless message. Saint Vincent College, which houses the Fred Rogers Archive in its Fred M. Rogers Center, carries on his legacy with the Fred Rogers Scholars and the student-driven research and development lab “Incubator 143” (Fred Rogers’ favorite number, representing the number of letters in the phrase “I love you”), as well as the course “What Would Fred Rogers Do?”

Mr. Rogers gave the commencement speech at my graduation in 2000 also. He told the same story about Jeff. His message is timeless! Thanks for posting. 😊
Thanks for watching!
Yes, he spoke at my Commencement in 2000 for Old Dominion University. I believe this was a similar speech since it was in the same year. I know he has some very wise words - I found it a bit difficult to pay attention due to his monotone voice over the crowd of thousands of graduates. Probably just my ADHD!! 😆
_I was kind of jealous because the class of 1999 had Bill Cosby,_ I just didn't have enough credits to walk! (Funny how life changes - now I'm just proud to say my Commencement was performed by Mr. Rogers and NOT Mr. Cosby!!)
I think it's a accomplishment when my RUclips homepagee shows recommended videos in which about quarter are of Fred Rogers.
❤️
