This is a teardown of the newest Apple watch series 5. The new watch comes apart in a similar fashion to the series 4. One of the Trickiest parts of the repair is simply removing the screen without damaging the screen, frame, and force touch. This Video shows the process I use that may help viewers open the watch if the dare to.

Jaffar Almousa you actually don’t need to remove a single screw. When starting it’s a good idea to remove stuff just to make sure the machine is dialed in. Once things work without having to make adjustments it as simple as placing the phone and starting the machine. If you are going to be doing it on a regular basis then it’s worth it.

It will work, but it’s possible that things like Apple Pay won’t work till it’s updated after install

I needed to re-case the internals to another case due to a bought watch that the owner said he had a bike crash that smashed the screen and scraped the aluminium case deep of the corner. It was all going SO SO well here on my UK Kitchen table this morning!! The arrival of my eagerly awaited magnetic board meant I could start the teardown following this excellently detailed video 😎 WELL, until the last part!! The bottom sensor came off and the tiny springs for the strap release push in buttons went off some where never to be seen again 😂 Now for plan B 🤣 And I shall be taping the back to the body before I strip another one. Great video as usual. Thank you.

When I was replacing my battery, I inadvertently pried up the display flex cable on the motherboard on the left side. How do I reconnect this? Do I solder it back on? Any tips?

Y000 will work. the same for most iPhone internal screws.
If force touch cable rips how is that fixed ?
Question, can I remove a working OEM display from a iCloud locked series 5 to replaced a damaged display in my very own series 5?
Yes, but you may experience issues with some features like Apple Pay etc. if the update of the screen doesn’t match the watch your putting it on. Once the watch has a chance to update though this should clear up.
great job i have a 5 series and took it to have it repaired as i dropped it and cracked the bottom right hand corner .he replaced it with a new original touch screen and glass complete .after fixing everything works great and up dated it to ios9 .but i have a problem that the side button when i press to my apple pay the cards on my phone work but in the app it says removing and can't add the cards .
i have reset the watch and signed out of icloud and reset my cards on my phone but still not adding them to my watch .????
any suggestion on how to fix!!!!.

It’s could be a couple of things. First if the replaced the whole screen this can cause the issue you are talking about. If the image and touch of your watch was fine then they should have just replaced the glass and you wouldn’t have experienced this issue. Most shops won’t do glass only though due to how different it is. The other thing is that the something might not be connected properly on the inside or the software the screen has when installed didn’t match the update the watch had. This can typically be fixed though with an update when they come out. If they replaced your whole screen they should have made you aware of this potential issue.

Hi there, can I replace the motherboard of A2094 model with the A2092?
One is cellular which means the back glass wouldn’t match the model anymore. But otherwise there should be no issue

How do you know if the screen connector cable (3 of them) are working or not?
I recently replaced the screen but screen remains black, however, watch is on. I guess watch remains on, even, the screen may or may not be working. Could this be the cable. I see current in them testing with O-Meter. Any answer will be highly appreciated! Thank you
Damn, if Apple remove that haptic engine like they did remove 3D touch in iPhones for more space for bigger battery, the batterylife will be so much better. Hope graphene batteries become available soon.

Does lcd screen series 4 work fit in to the apple watch 5 series?
Is there a way to make the watch waterproof again, maybe put in a vacuum chamber and get some apple grade adhesive? I’ve done three apple watch lcd refurbishment using your tutorials but always concern if they get wet while hand washing.
Alan Liu Alan Liu I have a vacuum chamber and have tried dozens of adhesives, the only issue is what test can you preform to confirm it’s water resistance? Apple never claims “waterproof “ and it’s based off of statistics. They don’t test every watch that goes out. I have tons of people contact me about fixing new water damaged watches, which Apple doesn’t cover under warranty.
