Make sure to set bed ownership for everyone in your household it doesn't guarantee that they wouldn't but it makes the odds significantly less that they sleep in other beds

The Sims 4 feels more like a "Doll House Simulator" than it does a Life Sim game. In the Sims 2 and 3, Sims would play out their own stories with autonomy and the player following their wants. In the Sims 4, the player has to dictate everything in their head like playing dolls

See that’s why I download every pack illegally without shame, if EA still wants to overcharge their customers for literally NOTHING new while most of those features should have already been in the base game but for some reason they’re not, than honestly fuck them. One pack in the sims can cost 180 zlotych here in Poland. 180PLN FOR WHAT?!!

Last time I checked the game (maybe June or August in 2022) the game costed 21000 pesos mexicanos, I can buy 2 Nintendos switch with that money, I'm not paying a peso for that game ._.

I didn't play Island Living but it looks like waiting simulator to me. Sim working as a life guard - you wait, sim swimming - you wait, sim scuba diving - you wait, sim laying on the lounge chair - you wait, sim sunbathing - you wait. Pretty much all new "activities" coming with that pack is waiting
I’m such an Island Living Hater. After Island Paradise from the Sims 3, complete and utter disappointment and nobody talks about it enough. Sims 3 Island Paradise included houseboats (functional), resort management, mermaids, scuba diving (you could actually see, and go under the water to explore the underwater world), and so much more. I feel like sims doesn’t realize what we’re asking for when we ask for things. “We want mermaids back!!” We don’t just want you to put mermaids in the game, they need to genuinely have a purpose. They don’t. If your sim is a mermaid it’s just inconvenient for you, can’t see your sim explore underwater, can’t really do any mermaid things than talk to dolphins. It’s so lame.
The Sims 3 Island Living is the expansion pack hurt the most by a lack of open world Island Paradise in Sims 3 ignoring the optimization issues was a really really good pack BECAUSE of the open world you can go diving and see your Sim under the water and the water vehicles were actually useful because of the hidden islands and the large bodies of water you had to cross to get back home for example or to go to a dive spot which when you dive in The Sims 3 YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE YOUR SIM UNDER THE WATER

@@ple8379 Yeah I would be honest despite the optimization issues I somehow got Island Paradise on The Sims 3 to be more then playable aside from the occasional freeze which only lasts a few seconds

I'd love to make this world perform better, but I honestly don't want to remove the houseboats. I don't really play with them too often, but I just like having them in the game, especially with this world, I don't want to remove any features... But I might have to :/.
I wish I saw this before picking up High School Years on sale. Not only is there next to nothing to do at high school, but on my sim's very first day she was late to class because she needed to use the bathroom and was given a detention by the principal. So of course I went the evil sims player route and invited the Principal to my sim's home, where they 'tragically' drowned in a swimming pool.

regarding the sims 4, you need to have a strong imagination in order to be able to enjoy the game. as someone who writes a lot of original characters, i'd also like to visualize what my sims are doing, not just... play pretend. sims 4 is kind of like "tell, don't show", meanwhile the previous sims games, especially the sims 1 and the sims 2 are mostly "show, don't tell".

Agreed 👍. Granted it's a double edge sword because I constantly have to pause and the sims are dumb without controlling them and are like little children that need to be supervised, but the benefits are I have more control over them. In Sims 4 you have more control. And with more control you have more responsibility.

The problem with the sims 4 community is that we still expect ea to do good stuff when they clearly don't care for it. What frustrates me the most with ts4 tho, is not even the lack of stuff in the packs, it's the way the game barely works anymore. Because they keep adding broken shit on top of broken shit.... I miss sims 2, when everything was simpler

Yea, omg. In a normal gameplay the biggest offender are infants imo.
Infants are so broken that you literally cannot play normally if you have even just one in your household, because your sims will always be putting the kid on the ground and moving it around from floor to floor instead of doing what you ask them for no apparent reason
why? remember when there where stories in the sims 3? that there are new characters in the sims 4 that, what do they do actually? no stories, nothing, and the characters from the previous games that don't have already exciting relationships like Katrina and Don, in the bio they are in a romantic relationship, yet they aren't and even the original sims don't have any relationships, like the Vatore siblings, they are supposed to be enemies with Vlad, yet they don't know him at all, or hell the Siblings are cousins to the werewolf Lily, YET! NO FAMILY RELATIONS TO HER!? the same with Agnes and Mortimer, they are family yet in the game, they don't have that, so a question, why should anyone care if the devs don't care? where are the story possibilities? like the previous games?
@@auroraragazzoni4533THIS. I have so many mods in my game to try and fix the notorious infant pick up cycle, and none of them work. I absolutely should not have to tell my sim to do something 5 times before she actually decides to pick her infant up from off the floor and do it.

HONEY MOONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED WITH WEDDING STORIES NO DOUBT ABOUT IT and then can we talk about werewolves? It’s a bunch of rabbit holes and no option to make your own wolf pack to rival the others like what? Plus their temperaments are broken and I feel like they should have the ability to eat like a civil person when they’re not transformed.
Don’t worry! they will prob add a honeymoon game pack with 2 options for honeymoon locations and completely broken! All at the low cost of 385.99, plus your soul! 😊
(Plus I really hate how they did the werewolf’s like why do they have human feet and legs?)

HSY was a gamepack pretending to be an expansion pack. Another expansion pack with no new full time career (seriously, no career as either a teacher, school counselor or principal?), a useless football field with a track that Sims couldn't even run on. There's only 1 high school, so no school rivalries, or the option to create different types of high schools that the Sims could go to like a preparatory high school, delinquent high school, school for the gifted, etc. Where's the school mascot or school colors, no letterman jackets in CAS, no yearbook to sign, no senior trip?
And the classes were the most disappointing. They could have added functional items like a chef station for a home economics class, science table for science class, easels for art class, wood benches for woodshop, instruments for music class, podium for debate class or those items could have been incorporated for after school activities or clubs. The half functional carnival and bobba tea thrift store seemed random and thrown in to fill out the pack. The proms were boring and the career day was glitchy. Also, they could have add a piercing or tattoo chair so teens could either ask permission or sneak to get a tattoo or piercing. And what was the point of the cheerleaders tryouts? Who are they cheering for...the school doesn't have any teams nor plays against anyone. They could have at least had rabbithole events for the high school team sports or cheer competitions for these useless cheerleaders. HSY was definitely a disappointment and after awhile I just sent the teens to school by themselves.

Thank you! There’s so many other examples of game packs with an expansion pack price tag the sims died for me when batuu came out.
The thing is, modern day competative cheerleading is an incredibly demanding, difficult sport. They could’ve had crosspack compatibility with the neighborhood action plans for deciding how intense or casual your school is about sports. Casual sports would fill your characters fun and social needs faster but grow their athletics skill way slower while competitive sports grow your athletics much faster but plummet your energy and hunger need. However, they could have competition events for the competitive sports with special rewards for winning. The neighborhood action plans could also be used to determine a uniform or not uniform school and the generic “we love the arts” or “green thumb” ones could affect what electives you could take.
Speaking of, why can’t we choose any type of classes? We should get to choose at least one skill for our sim specifically to focus on. The sims 4 is primarily an America simulator and one of the few things American high schools have going for them are the elective systems where you get to choose a couple of your classes.
There should have absolutely been careers for teachers, school councilors, principles, and even part time gigs as either a substitute or coach. That could have also have crosspack comparability with a teaching degree from college.
And it’s not like this pack has *no* crosspack comparability. If you have Jungle Adventure, the students will be able to level up their skills for that pack as well. I’d been fine with some electives being added with different packs. Or being able to get an automatic pass on one of your college classes if you have taken that subject in Highschool (I know that’s not how it works but it’s fine for the sims as a gameplay inzentives and they don’t need to add things like AP classes or the SAT tests that’s not fun)
The worst part is, a lot of my favorite furniture in the entire game is in this pack 😭😭😭😭😭 but I can’t justify buying it as it is
@@AverageEggmonEnthusiastthat’s how they manipulate the players, with the build/buy and CAS items (and underwhelming shopping still 🫢). It’s appeal is aesthetics and they skate smooth on that. Also spreading the quality of life features in expansions instead of base game updates. Many modders produce upgrades from these features. That’s who really have developed TS4, without considering modders being unofficial quality control, uncommissioned

Peak British sarcasm right there. I only have growing together and I like it has milestones but only because unlike the previous games they have memories now. Also I wanted a bike because I don’t have the uni pack and unlike the sims team don’t want to wait for my sim to walk across the world when biking is quicker! 😊

This video made me giggle 🤭HSY truly was the biggest disappointment for me and it still annoys me to this day😅I will never not be confused as to why they didn't make afterschool activities act like the organizations from DU. All of the clubs either use BG items or exclusively from the pack. I really wanted my sim to be able to have cheer practice out on the field! The pack just feels really empty. It actually feels like that pack was made by a completely different team who had no prior knowledge of the past EPs, even though I'm sure thats not the case lol.
Totally agree….and the thing I think annoys me the MOST is not being able to really control your sim; for instance, it was exam day, and my Sim was not going to exams, but I couldn’t click on anything to make her go do it. I just had to helplessly sit there while she stayed in the hall, missed her exams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I never follow my teens to school anymore. It’s pointless!
That’s why I’m never buying packs on full price. For whatever tf we got, even half the price was too much, but I bought it for the objects, clothes, and aspirations.
You forgot to mention how the literal PROM and FINAL exams happen at the end of EVERY week in highschool years .. that is a pack I swore to never buy 😅

I want a refund for highschool. It barely works & my graduation had me and my guest as the only ones there. I watched an empty podium giving the valedictorian speech and never finished.

For me, HSY was the most dissapointing one. I live in Argentina- where the most interesing thing that happens in Secondary school is someone fighting in recess. So i was hoping that TS4, being clearly american, would have at least what is shown in tv shows and stuff (pretty sure its not realistic, but in the game we got vampires and a COWPLANT) to make it less boring 😭

@@ThisIsMyRodrickIrish secondary schools are so boring, my school had our classes literally 1 minute apart so we had to run straight from one to the other and just make sure we carried all our books. We also couldn’t stay at school during lunch, so nobody ever got a chance to hang around the school. American movies with kids actually chatting at their lockers and stuff made me so jealous lol.

I felt that way about Dine Out. Oh, I wanted my money back so bad 😂, but after a mod was created to fix a lot of it's issues, I'm fine with it.
I remember being SO disappointed with High School Years because with Discover University your sim can get an education degree & become a teacher/principal. So imagine my shock when I bought HSY thinking my newly degree’d sim could go work as a teacher or principal at the high school only for that to not be the case smh
Honestly, Island Living, If you compare it to island living from sims 3 IT IS NOTHING. Sims 3 added: Mermaids, Resorts (that can house multiple people and that you can manage), hidden islands, explorable diving, boats, houseboats and so much more and sims 4 was like: you get half a mermaid and pollution yaaaaay.
Also I HATE that they keep adding those holiday homes in normal neighborhoods! What is the point?? if I wanted to experience the world I would just visit a lot, why would I need to rent a house? It feels like fake immersion

Ah ah so true. HSY was really the worst. I never thought about the ski competitions, classes or job but now that you said it, it is so true OMG. And the fact taht MWS has dozen of events (most that you barely use) but no honeymoon has always killed me.
Here’s how I rank sims 4 packs :
1. Everything needs to be cheaper expansion packs ARE NOT worth 40! (That is literally more then What I payed for the game itself)
2. If it is commonplace irl then it should be free (remember sims 4 is suppose to be a life simulation)
3. If it’s a stuff pack/ kit then it should be base-game (they sersly come w like 3 things 😒)
Example:
Laundry day (WHY THE ACTUAL HELL ARE WE PAYING TO DO LAUNDRY IN A LIFEEE SIMULATION!)
Cats and dogs/ my first pet stuff (if they have to be a pack they should be part of the SAME pack)
City living
Growing together (again, why. The. Hell. Are. We. Paying. For. FAMILY. DYNAMICS. IN. A. LIFE SIMULATION!)
University/ high school (whatever those packs are called. At the very least Should be part of the same pack)
Bust the dust (again why are we paying to do extra cleaning in. A. LIFE. SIMULATION. Also this should of been part of laundry day)
SEASONS. (DO I NEED TO SAY MORE?)
Get to work (again do I need to say more?)
Any y’all think I missed?

But you know what really grinds my gears? I'll tell you more that we are friends: The lack of consistency with swatches... five shades of blue, ten shades of pink, and none of them match, and the only color wheel is in makeup.
I get why, after 85 packs, the refreshes would slow down (after two), but you would think they would put that effort into just fixing the swatches. At the very least, have consistency in the neutral tones.
This was so entertaining, and you are totally right. These packs are advertised as awesome and then you get into the game and it's like, what? That's it?

I HATE THE MIDLIFE CRISIS. My sims are stressed, unable to focus, mean to their family- for 7 DAYS STRAIGHT. Work rivals are quite literally way too much work to WANT to get rid of, If I’m being so honest. I genuinely just want to quit my sim’s job, and get a new one instead. Social Bunny has always bothered me in the sense it doesn’t expand into adulthood. Adults very much use social media, and I wish they implemented more options to post about. Like, oh! Just had a baby, this is a social bunny moment! Not, oh! I just went shopping, let me post this. High school years was a major flop in total, seeming as it came completely broken and unfinished anyway.
This video is a perfect encapsulation of everything that is wrong with the packs, so many missed opportunities!!😒

Totally agree with you. I love this packs, but it's feel like some big parts of it is just missing... lIke something is not enought...
i like that with cheats you can place the default climbing rocks from Mt.Komorabi everywhere it is just hard to make it look good if you are not a pro. so no fitness kid neccesary. i think there is also a mod to make the rocks look better to match other worlds.
For me what really annoyed me about the high school is that ONLY the teen I'm playing with is there. I was planning on doing this "meet cute" during their teens for two sims of mine from different households. But the other one didnt show at all. Even when I changed the family, the other one was ALWAYS missing. Just then I realised is always the same group of npcs around. This is SO LAZY.
I am a SIMP for tropical themes, so the Island one didnt disapointed me... that much. The one from ts3 still superior (although lagged my pc the most LOL). HOWEVER the mermaid occult is only fun because I have a mod to improve it. Is so empty in gameplay is stupid. The potential is RIGHT THERE.
I feel like most packs are made thinking about content creators that make those little movies n'stuff. So they have the animations and interactions for a lot of things. That as a gameplay is boring, but can be filmed and edited into a script. Is the only explanation that comes to my mind.

I love Island living! My least favourite so far is Eco Living, cause the world is so uuuugly. I mostly bought it so my islanders off the grid could get some electricity, and don't have to gather water every few minutes. 😅

Out of all of them I really enjoyed Snowy Escape and I do like Growing Together. But honestly lack of content is an issue. CC is the only thing saving this game. But at the moment I'm having to wait to buy an desktop to run the sims 4, ridiculous.
High school years was a fun pack for me at first. But after a full day of playing and discovering the game had to offer, I’m like this game pack was a waste of money.

The midlife crisis and burnout make me so mad. I'm sorry work sucks but you can't avoid doing a good amount of things all because it makes mental burnout worse. I don't normally have an issue with the creative one but my sims get the mental one constantly from work.

I don't know if the Mermaids would work with the skill/power tree approach of the Vampires etc, if I was to revamp them, I think I'd add a secret world that you could reach via Sulani, and maybe have factions there that you could do tasks for, so mermaids were more about their society than about accruing powers, although I suppose it could work sort of like celebrity does.
Hopefully the My Wedding Stories pack gets a bit of a clean up with the new romance themed expansion, I'd worry about new players buying them together without knowing how many problems there are with that pack!

I only bought the Star Wars pack for the Build/Buy stuff... mainly for Sci-Fi Builds and maybe also for the Light Sabers as theres RPs i do that use them but that's rare...

Don’t get me wrong I love The Sims but TS4 doesn’t have the same charm as Sims 2 & 3
The only pack of the Sims 4 who i feel is 100% a must do is The 4 Seasons. Not because is particularly good, but because is painfully obvious that it was meant to be in the base game. It feels incomplete without it.

This "okay I'm bored now" is so me when i first started playing the sims 4 after so many years of sims 2 and refusing to play sims 3 because i didnt like the faces and rabbit holes 😅 20 minutes into sims 4 and i didn't touched that game until a year ago. Still got the most hours in sims 2 and even more on sims 3 than sims 4. I only build houses there and create sims. Hopefully sims 5 gets a bit more enjoyable 😢
Greetings - I have not watched one second of this video. My comment is solely based on the title. The Sims 4 has been out for 10 years. Why are you still spending your money on something that makes you unhappy? Instead, you should leave the game alone and spend your money and time on what brings pure joy and happiness into your life.

My favorite pack are cottage living. Because I love to be able to live of the land. My least favorite is Journey to Batuu. I hate that you can’t build at all and the missions are so repetitive.
I have the laundry day pack and I am honestly not a fan of it because my Sims will complain that the house is dirty but never do their laundry
SO glad I never bought My Wedding Stories. It came out the same year my then boyfriend proposed to me, so I was VERY tempted, but I waited for the reviews and prevented major disappointed. I even got to listen to 'At Last' in Simlish while watching Sims of myself, him, and my family be in the wedding venue we already have in one of the other neighbourhoods. My real life wedding went perfectly. ^_^
Honestly the dogs and cats is one for me you have to walk one dog at a time it doesn’t do much

I hate all the packs because I could only playa couple of them on ps4 so I stopped and went back to the sims 3 when I got my computer back in febuary this year it's so much better
