Fantastic instrument - played one a few years back and really enjoyed it...still thinking about it! Great playing! In 1999 I hiked the Appalachian Trail with a Martin Backpacker...ok to play but sounded like crap! The furch has lovely tone, very expressive, and feels good.

We used to canoe in Alabama with an old OVATION guitar. Plastic and aluminum neck. It got submerged more than once but we drug that thing around for a decade. The real problem was it had a round back and we all had round fronts so the lap fit was not good but she got passed around the campfire a lot.
LMAO, yeah my Dad has the same problem with his belly and my camping guitar. I have an old applause pumpkin shell that I found in the trash that I take everywhere with me. It has a wooden neck but this thing takes some abuse and tunes right up every time.
why do you think they say to lossen your string when you not playing i know most of us dont do it but it streches the strings hence you need to retune every so offten but with this the strings are the same length as before but not under tension while dismantled
@@AldoHam Hmmm... Interesting. I've never had anyone tell me to loosen the strings on my instruments when not playing. In fact, I've always been under the impression that you should always leave the strings under tuned tension, particularly with guitars that have neck rods, so that the neck stays in proper compression and doesn't warp. I'll have to research this a bit.
Ohh Dr Johnson your beautiful day’s timing is absolutely perfect i just come back to my reality after taking a trip into seizure land. And this stunningly bit of mind fixing magic has got me back to sort of normal ( this has taken me nearly an hour to write 😂😂) have a beautiful day and please forgive me if it doesn’t make much sense. But my head is a bit of a washing machine much love to you and your beautiful lady Nikki 😘
This was one of the coolest guitar videos I ever saw, hahaha...., very well done!!! 😎 Question(s): That pickup sounds amazing! What's the secret? I've never seen anything like it (I think). So what is it? I didn't see you plugging a cable into an amp, did you use a wireless system? What amp did you use? And did you do some post production? I'm asking because I think I tried all the options I could find to get a good acoustic sound from any pickup, but it never sounds good enough. This however might be the best acoustic I've ever heard coming from a pickup, so I really want to know. Please, tell me your secret(s). 😊👍
It hoenstly comes down more to the player. He is definitely using a wireless transmitter right into a recorder (you can see it on the wheel of the boat and the TX unit on top of the guitar). Pickup not sure what it is
Hi @Justin Johnson ; just as I emailed Furch a question regarding Fishman Powertap Earth, I came across this video, where you demo what I only dared to dream about: a wireless pickup system demoed on a Little Jane. Thank you for showcasing. I am not sure if I want to drill a hole into the LJ. Could you please tell us what you mounted there how with what? When I search for "XVIVE Audio U2" I get a very different looking system with plugs. What do you use here, exactly? Thanks!
Wow , that is one snazzy little package JJ . Furch make great sounding guitars and this one is testament to their brand , in your hands it sounds like it was built for purpose , thank you Justin and cheers from NZ .
@@FurchGuitarsOfficial Bouquets where they deserve to go , you guys make an awesome product and it pleases me to watch and listen to Justin Johnson make beautiful music with your guitars , so I thank you guys very much , cheers , I reside in New Zealand and I would say your guitars have a big following down this part of the planet .
Love your set up Justin. My family just recently sold the cottage but man seeing this brings on the memories. Great playing and it makes happy seeing you enjoy your well deserved success. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦!
it's a quick swig of coffe for me on this Sunny Sunday AM.....ready! ok, I see the fish rollin while this boat is rockin.....awesomeness yes, of course a Fine piece played on a Fine Furch I really was hoping to continue when JJ parks that vessel to enlighten the other happy fish
Hi y'all wow what a great tone from a travel guitar. Have guitar will travel and write on the road! Thanks for the demo Justin. Fantastic playing and sprit as always. Ciao Puck in NOLA.
I actually picked up a travel guitar not too log ago just to keep in the car. Old 1986 Cougar I travel in. 5.0 EFI. Travel guitar was one of my favorite investments. Definitely comes in handy.
I'm surprised that the fish aren't jumping in the boat to get a front row seat! So here's the MAGIC that is Justin Johnson. I hate boats, I have never played a travel guitar that sounded any good, I love alcohol, but I love it so much that I can't drink it....if you know what I mean. Yet here I am fantasizing about how great it would be to be there. Abracadabra!! kevin O'Rourke

Anyone else impressed that thing was in tune after putting it together?
open mouth and still wondering
Of course, what kind of tuners have this machine, awesome.

And the guitar is still in tune. Amazing.
I'm sure it was probably tuned beforehand but, dang, it still held its tune pretty well! I'm interested...
Those guitars have a reputation for staying perfectly in tune after assembly

The lake don't look as swampy as it sounds. Make me wanna boil some crawfish, and wrestle a gator.
Don't forget the corn fed Philly in Jean shorts
OK, I'm impressed, and also with the guitar. I would never expect it to hold tuning.
