Gorgeous documentary. Powerful story. 1) The story would not be complete without Marcus revealing the details. It’s a piece that’s absolutely needed. 2) My thought is if someone can live through it, the least, the very least I can do is listen/read/see it.
They left out so many important details and there were so many misconceptions you can make after watching the movie. There was no mention of their real father in the movie and that the father referred to in the movie was really their stepfather, there was no mention of their half-siblings Amanda and Oliver, and the discovery of the headless photograph was discovered by their younger brother oliver and it was not on the concealed cupboard but from the bedside drawer of their mother's bedroom. The part when they were left in a home care by their mother after their real father died in a car accident... I thought this was a compelling documentary and was perfectly made as it brings you to a roller coaster of anticipation and emotions, but I was disappointed after reading and researching more about their story and that many parts from the book itself were missing in the movie.
Regardless , it was a truly amazing documentary- but, the book they wrote tells much more about such details you mentioned. I think though in a film -one must avoid too much context - to not water down maybe a message they were trying to convey through making the film - which was about the twins unfailing love as brothers.
Agree, I did research and all the details you mentioned was left put and they were vital. It was important to know about the father and other two siblings because I'm sure they went through the same as them or worse.
Thank you, for making this documentary- for survivors of sexual child abuse - it tells the story of redeeming love between the two of these brothers. The awareness that these situations of abuse goes on. -is important to know of and the example of how one might overcome these wounds & find some sort of healing. .

How do you know this? I didn’t hear of siblings or step father. I have tried to research this after watching it and getting nothing
