That terracotta pot with Sankey impressed around it is a water dish for under an old plant pot. Sankey were an old terracotta plant pot manufacturer and quite valued now. Some nice bits there, Shane!
Takes me back, dad and me used to spend every weekend digging, mainly Leatherhead area, Aldershot especially, remember they were trying to build a housing estate there, was a massive area, builders clocked off Friday at 4 Diggers clocked in at 5 all weekend, no end of ginger beers and cods, pulled a Warnes safe cure out and a few pot lids. Those were the days, before security wallahs
Great stuff , I had one of those peppers out nice bottles, your second dig that was seam then 4 foot to the next is exactly like mine less the water 😂look forward to the next glad you’re still digging mate
some nice early fragments in there. always exciting to see... and the hope that /one day/ something complete will emerge. gotta say I'm always impressed by your diligence around restoring the site. that's doing it properly.
