    Good job.
Amazing how many electronic things like tape decks, TV's etc Sony has made since they've been in business.

That's a lot of work. Nice job. Most would've left this to the scrap pile. Glad to see it renewed.

I'm really glad you got this machine working so well considering the state it was in. You're truly amazing at these vintage deck restorations. 😁I wish I had your abilities with this stuff but with my low vision and anxiety disorder, there's only so far that I can go with servicing so watching you preform these intricate repairs is pretty mind blowing for me.

Oh, and I will be subscribing to your other channel. As a Nova Scotian who's never been out west, I really enjoy the walking / drone videos.

Arrrrg, Sony plastic overmolding and unnecessarily proprietary engineering, all designed to a failure coefficient quota, even back then. I think Hanspeter's tapes are very good, a slight difference in shell thickness, insertion force, the recorded frequency, and a million other things, all effect the phase. You did a fine job bringing this one back to life.

I'm starting to realize that the HPR azimuth tape is more than good enough for my purposes. If I align every machine in my collection to the same tape, they're all going to play each other's recordings well enough. Really though, I can't believe this particular TC-K75 came out sounding like THAT. It wasn't supposed to be this good!

@@OklawolfDefinitely yes, aligning everything in the stable to one azimuth reference is good, I wish it worked with levels too. The older machines can be a big surprise sometimes, I wish they were as modular as the later ones though.
I’ve enjoyed your walkabout videos quite a lot, these are all towns I could easily live in, but for the absence of mountains.

Curious that you didn't refinish the rusty reel motor housing?

The rust is only on the mu-metal outer case - doesn't really hurt anything to leave it alone. The motor did get some oil in the front bearing.

Nice job, lot's of work. Where do you get the WHS-300 or M-300 gauge nowadays?

I got mine from Willy Hermann, who has decided not to offer them anymore but still had one to sell me. Not sure where else a person can find one.
