I love this kind of video, being able to watch all the recording process and how you get to the result you're looking for, which is the one we finally listen to. I feel like I'm able to connect more with the music after seeing the humanity behind the perfection of the final result. When I see you repeating one note or a part of the piece over and over, I feel more connected to you and your music cause I can see myself in that process of playing and playing and repeating just to get that one note right (with worse results than you, obviously). But still...when we watch the final product is great, I mean, that's what we want to listen to, your best interpretation of the piece, but also, being able to watch what's behind...I don't know, I think it makes me enjoy it even better, I think it shows the struggle, the effort, even the loneliness of sitting hours and hours just playing for youserlf, and it makes me appreciate even more the beauty of this art and how, no matter how difficult it is, no matter how many hours I have to spend to get one piece to the best interpretation I'm capable of, it's certainly worth the effort... :)

I really enjoyed this video! Thank you for sharing! I once had the good fortune to have a private lesson with the great pianist Ivan Moravec. He told me that the best piano teacher is oneself and that I should record and analyze my own playing as if I were my own student. At the time, I found this difficult to understand. I mean, how could I determine what's right or wrong with my playing with enough objectivity to genuinely improve it without outside knowledge? As it turned out, the knowledge was already there, accumulated almost subconsciously over many years of music study and, well, life. The transition from being someone's student to being a student of yourself is one that just kind of sneaks up on you. Like Rip van Winkle, you wake up one day and find you are your own piano teacher! O_O

6:01 really resonates with me because I will play a note, not like the way one note sounds and hit it like 20 times in a row 😂 anytime I do that in front of other people they get so confused

Wow, such an emotional piece! Good idea you record and examine later. Many musicians do this and find it helpful. You have a lot of love to give.

It's so strange to see those old videos of your dear Tiffany again, from before this terrible pandemic that changed the world and changed you. that optimistic innocence of the time. It's sweet and nostalgic at the same time. Be well dear Tiffany. A sweet kiss from France.

This video offers some insight into your exacting process. I guess you share that "being your own worst critic" thing with the rest of us, since you saw and heard flaws in what many would consider a flawless prior performance, as well as being twice the age you were then, feeling the piece differently now. The other day, I got to hear the take you went with. Again, beautiful, dare I say, flawless!! It doesn't seem like you were all-the-way sold on it, but it's fun to see the process, which produced the result.

It is interesting seeing your mind work in reaction to yourself. Some things most of your audience may not detect or respond to in the same way . I’m glad I watched your earlier recording of this piece before watching your own feedback to it which to my untrained ear sounded very similar. Both sounded great. I like how some of your performance was still fresh in your mind. It helps your audience to understand more about you and what you go through when wanting to achieve a recording you are satisfied with. And it is also a good snap shot of what adapting to imperfection can entail even when it doesn’t necessarily involve music.

Tiffany, I really liked your playing of nocturne in C sharp minor. I try to emulate it in my playing but I know I'll not come near that since I'm self taught and started piano in my mid 30's.

Beautiful, very poetic and intimate rendition of this piece! Great pedaling: nothing blurred, very transparent. Did you use the Sostenuto pedal? Despite your criticism of your old version I'm also still impressed by little Tiffany's performance back then. It seems that even at that early age you put true feelings into the music.

I have a question to you. Is there any part of your body that hurts when you are playing the piano? Or do you have no problems at all? Because I have some problems and I work on them and they are getting better. But I don't know if it is possible or even normal to feel no pain at all.
    Have a wonderful weekend :)

I have a question. So if your recording sessions are typically really long, how do you go about competitions or concert type settings where you just don't get a second chance to go back and re record anything and yet that's the content that public ends up seeing? Do you walk away with a feeling of dissatisfaction?
