My parents fought over my custody. Neither would give in. They each demanded that the other person gets me. They both offered to pay the other to take me.
A friend of mine recently caught his stay at home wife cheating with one of his neighbour, naturally things got heated. He kicked the neighbour out of his house along with his wife. Few hours later cops came in to arrest him, turns out his wife filed a false assault/rape charge against him. For an entire week he couldn't get a bail and had to stay behind bars on false charges while his wife and her paramour had a gala time at his own house. Weeks later he filed for divorce, in that divorce settlement he lost his house and a significant portion of his assets and had to pay alimony too. Now both his ex wife and her lover are living off his money and staying at his home while he's struggling to get back his job following the false charges against him. He's only glad he didn't had any children with her otherwise he would have lost his will to live. Moral: Don't sign contracts with people who benefit by breaking it.
Would have been worth had he straight up shot that b!tch and dealt with the ahole later. The jury would have given him benefit of doubt and man slaughter would be the most he gets..world would have been better place.
My parents got divorced when I was a kid, and they fought a lot over custody. The end result of the custody battle was that my mom won full custody and decided to move to a different state. My dad was then required to pay child support which he constantly complained about. My mom then remarried a couple years after divorcing my dad which probably made things even more complicated. That being said, I basically just have to accept my life the way it is at this point.
Maybe a nice thing to add is that adding to the cold numbers for your finances that a divorce might entail, if you have children, there are other statistics you might want to be aware of. Children of divorced couples often do worse in academics, mental health and other areas. You might have to budget for additional costs for mental health support for them, and really go the extra mile to give them a great home life. My husband and I are children of divorced couples, but they waited until we were teenagers and that was best in hindsight. Even then, I often felt like I had no place in the world when both my parents got their new partners.
Several interesting points ot consider: 1. Having two people in one house is significantly cheaper per person than two people living separately. Often this is something that needs to be budgeted for when separating. This also includes kids, who will need sleeping arrangements at two places, costing twice as much. 2. Retirement funds are usually in the name of the person who was working. This means the person who was not working (often the woman) will have difficulty in retirement, which may be a few decades away. A few thousand per year lost in investments while raising a child can be many times that when it comes to retirement. The stay at home parent can be hugely disadvantaged. Interestingly, one of the largest causes of divorce globally... is finances. Which is ironic since divorce often leads to worse finances.
Like am still wild out that people sign a legally binding contract without getting a prenup. Like meet with a lawyer while you still like each other and get a prenup before you marry anyone. I've been thinking about this lately. I've often complained about being single and want to get married. But the divorce rate is so high that I'm not confident I will be one of the lucky ones. Being a single gay man as I am does have its benefits. At least I get to keep the assets I accumulated through years of hardwork. A divorce can damage a person both financially and psychologically.
That's because you're looking at it all wrong. You don't get married for the sake of getting married you get married because you find your partner that you want to stay with. Don't look at marriage as something you're supposed to do or have to do look into something you absolutely want to do with an individual that you have come across. You don't go looking for a best friend you don't seek out and intentional best friend you just come across them and form that friendship with that individual. Look at marriage the exact same way. He spontaneously decided to drive his VERY privileged life into the ground in a fiery explosion. Very sad. Very frustrating for both sides of the family.
You cant do much for Ex dodging their dues. Unless you know of one of their property, you can ask the judge to grant you the property to sell off. For the squating, is his name on the deed? If not, treat it as eviction. If yes, its his house, he could do whatever he likes For the employment status, they would need a stable full-time job (at least 3 months) to even consider it. A payslip or even the bank records of deposit should be enough to prove that he is working. Either way, this is the time when your sister to consider if she is willing to push the guy into jail. Since he was ordered by the judge to pay child support, not paying it is breaking the court ruling and they would be jailed for it. Most spouses doesn't do that cause they are often guilted into letting the ex go. Just cause they "dont want their children to know that their ex is bad"

Another point for the IRS/taxes the year you are divorced. My divorce was final in November. I didn’t realize that the IRS considers you married or divorced for the entire year. If you don’t have children with someone there is no good reason to get married, but there are lots of bad ones by bad actors. If a man has to pay a woman for her to date you then you can’t really call that love. And imagine you share a lease with someone and with nine months left to go you discover she has been shopping for an upgrade on Hinge (the app that advertised on TV privacy tools allowing people in relationships to secretly date others). If both people have their own living situation and the finances aren’t mixed then the relationship can end the moment just one person doesn’t want to be in it. A truly healthy and loving relationship requires this.
I like the animation with the lesbian couple that both have student debt that they haven't paid off yet trying to stick the other lesbian wife with their own student debt. Men that are viewing this comment... DO NOT SIGN a marriage certificate if your bride to be has not fully paid off their student debt. This is a good rule to follow, don;t even bend this rule. If she gets mad, tell her to hurry up and pay it off if she wants that engagement ring. She will then either debt snowball herself, or dump you. Both options in this case are a win for you as a dude.
I paid off my ex's mortgage before we got married and was married to him for less than 10 months. All the lawyers I talked to in Nevada where we lived said that I had no claim to this property because he never added me to the title when he said he would (hello, financial abuse) and because we weren't married long enough for me to get any assets after the divorce. We filed for divorce without any attorneys involved in order to save money, but I wish we'd used a mediator because I might have actually been able to get my full contribution towards his mortgage. Or maybe not. The guy was an amazing con artist.

Be super honest with your spouse-15 years together here. Get fights over with early… always give your spouse room to think about bombs you drop on them. Helps Build Trust.
I've always felt that good marriage is made by good divorce. People should be tied together because they want to be, not because they have to be. Planning for divorce makes sure your marriage is strong or else you would just get divorced! (Which is also ok).
It’s amazing how a woman can degrade a man and explicitly tell him how he was who she settled for than who she really wanted, and think its humorous for RUclips. That’s not funny. It’s dehumanizing for men because then you only see them as utilities to be spent/used and you’re only looking for the best deal which is very shallow. Ik this man would never degrade his wife in this manner because you’re probably who he genuinely fell in love with, had to chase, put in effort, time, energy, resources and consistency to get you remotely interested for marriage. He had to work for what he wanted, while u sat thinking of another and “settled” for him when the man you wanted didn’t want you. This man doesn’t deserve that, nor does any.
Then don't get married dude. It's not something that you have to do. Why are you complaining about something that you have absolutely no obligation to do?
So many comments about men who have it bad in divorce. Definitely happens but the reason you don't hear about it as mich the other way is because a lot of the women who would be in that situation are dead because they have been killed by their partners 🤷♀️ Both suck, but it's interesting how that's rarely mentioned, added to the fact the women usually jave very little in retirement but live longer and quietly suffer in later years because of it.
Er...While it is true that a high proportion of murders of women take place in domestic abuse situations, in absolute terms murder is still _extremally_ rare. In the UK, for example, in the three years between March 2018-March 2020 214 women were killed by a partner or ex-partner according to the Office of National Statistics, so that's about 71 a year. In 2019 there were 219,850 marriages, crudely, that's about 0.03%. The rate is broadly similar across most of the western world. Domestic abuse is underdiscussed, but only a very small proportion of women in unpleasant marriages are murdered.
Moral of the story is.. don’t sign a contract with someone who benefits from breaking it

Marriage is a mistake too many people fall into, and the tax savings are not worth it at all. True love will be perfectly happy as a less stressed unwed couple that isn't held hostage over the fear of a expensive divorce.
Yes! Exactly! True love will be perfectly happy without shackles! People saying otherwise are bad actors.
Another point for the IRS/taxes the year you are divorced. My divorce was final in November. I didn’t realize that the IRS considers you married or divorced for the entire year. So I had been claiming “married” on my W4 statement at work all year until November but then come tax time I had to claim “single” I hadn’t realized that I didn’t have enough taxes taken out for 11 out of 12 months. Looking back I should have changed my deduction as soon as we separated.
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing that!!
I split up with my ex. And now I have money. I even have quality time with my kid.
you thief
The lack of the moustache is killing me.
I just noticed that Phillip is rocking a full sleeve, NICE!
I went through a lot of financial crisis after my divorce, I had to raise my two kids alone, Currently I'm living smart and frugal with my money. Bought my second house already. Saving and investing lifestyle in the financial market made it possible for me; even till now I earn monthly through passive income. I'm planning on retiring when my kids finish college.
I'm a single dad. Not quite long I started investing. I'm very curious and need help on how to enhance and increase my returns. Any good investment tips would be appreciated
@@eadad4371 Generally, investing requires higher knowledge. For this reason, It's important to have a solid support structure (financial consultant) to guide you through especially in asset picking. I operate with (Regina Louise Collaro) an investment advisor who partners with a licensed wealth management firm. For the record, the experience has been the best for my finance. She is quite popular for her services so you might have heard of her.
She made me financially stable investing through her help, now I earn on a monthly basis through her passive income strategy... So I’ll advise you do get a good Investment advisor for yourself.
@@stephaniefythm That’s great , your investment advisor must be really good,I have seen testimonies of people using the help of investment advisors in making them more financial stable. Do you mind sharing more info on this person?
@@eadad4371 look her up on the internet and leave her a message she's quite popular for her services as she was recently featured on cnn. She can work with anyone irrespective of where their located
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.
AWEDOME VID. Very informative.
Thanks for broaching this sensitive topic with good information! I liked it!
Might want to mention alimony not being taxable/deductible may not be allowed for federal but depending on your state you might have to report it
-CPA/Financial Planner
i havent watched yall in a while so his lack of mustache gave me a freakout moment due to the subject of the video lol
Johnnie Taylor made a couple of songs called "Cheaper To Keep Her" and "Who's Making Love" they are very interesting songs. 😂
Imagine getting divorced
(2:36) One of the advantages of having a similar income of your spouse is that the alimony payments will be small if they are required.
I've been waiting on this topic discussed on this channel. I'm sure other people asked for it too.
Being able to buy insurance policy on divorce would be game changer
NO MENTION OF A PRENUP
Alimony isn't temporary new Jersey became 1 in reducing Chronic homeless 2 years after ending life time alimony
You list one state out of 50 and are trying to claim that it's not temporary??? It is temporary in most States. There is such a small percentage of people actually paying alimony yet you're trying to pretend that it's a much larger issue than it really is
You got a Ryan Gosling. You did well
Marriage: 50% chance to lose 50% or more of your money!
And it's not temporary accept in new Jersey with is how they became 1 in reducing Chronic homeless 2 years after ending life time alimony.
And what's the definition for being forced to work not getting the benefits or what your putting your efforts into.
That's slavery.
And it is fare more come for a man on the street paying child support to endanger the health and life of the man then for child birth and pregnancy to endanger the life or health of the women. I understand why the trolli argument doesn't work for men's rights but doesn't terminating a pregnancy defeat the purpose of male disposability
And no one is forcing you to get married so I don't know why you're complaining
@@UlexiteTVStoneLexite No one is forcing you to make that comment so I don't know why you're complaining.
@@windowguylol if you don't like sushi you don't have to tell everyone else to not eat sushi. That is how ridiculous this statement is it's like criticizing sushi and everyone that eats sushi because you don't like sushi. No one is forcing you to eat sushi you just look ridiculous when you're complaining about it
@@UlexiteTVStoneLexite you comparative makes not sense, if I eat sushi I expect to enjoy it since the beginning to the end, marriage on the other hand, everything works perfect at the start, but then the men end up ruined financially because of the divorce, just look at the divorce stats and who is taking advantage of the divorce
You guys are great together
Can you do a video on the discrimination against singles in our society?
Marriage is obsolete. As is making kids. Soon we will be robots and this horrible shit need never happen. Better living and eventually unliving hopefully will come soon. Divorce and marriage is horrible, it needs to go.
If you aren't doing it for religious reasons, I don't see why get married. You can always leave your wishes in a will.
Not 1¢ on 1¢ arguing! 😂 you guys literally make it 2 cents
Oh I love y’all! The little humor! 😁So much info here too!
So what I'm getting at here is, Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
Could you make a video about Vangaurd target retirement?
Pretty brutal that the dude has to pay taxes on alimony.
could have used this video two years ago thanks
*RIP mustache.* I miss you 😔 lol
What tax breaks do married people get? I haven’t seen any.
Yeah been down this road and never again.
What about having a pre-nup in place? Do you guys have an recommendations on that, or do you have a video on it?
You wanted JTT, but got Ryan Gosling instead. You married Ken!
Loved the jovial moments between the two of you
Great topic 👏 👍 but please stay together ❤ 🙏
1 out of 4? I think this is only in the US
For someone who is staying celibacy, I am kinda having a field day to watch this lol
Plus conflict resolution is much cheaper
great topic to cover and I love the playful banter.
Hello Natalie, how are you doing ?
"I'm pretty sure" that's a bit concerning 👀
can you do a video about mortgage interest rates
Divorce is never the way out, My wife and I have been having issues before I sort out help from a spiritual adviser,i wasnt going to let my marriage of 18years crash
@philipp llobet well not the orthodox way but i was referred by a friend to a spiritual adviser and healer
@philipp llobet her name is SHELLY RENEE WHITE ,and she is a great spiritual adviser as well as caster
you can look her name up online and you will find all you need.
Can you make a video on how a marriage affecte your finance too , thank you
4:37 I don't see how it makes sense that only 1 parent can claim children as dependents, but then have both pay child support. Technically the children are still dependent on both parents.
We miss the mustache!!! #bringbackthemustache
It's because Philip shaved the mustache, isn't it
Would love a video on post nup and what happens with the terms if a divorce happens or if kids are added to the mix afterwards.
julia did not get jonathan taylor thomas so she settled for ryan gosling instead
Be super honest with your spouse-15 years together here. Get fights over with early… always give your spouse room to think about bombs you drop on them. Helps Build Trust.
Marriage is betting each other half your sh*t that you'll love each other forever.
What a Great channel. Please Never Stop Making Your Videos.😃😃
I've always felt that good marriage is made by good divorce. People should be tied together because they want to be, not because they have to be. Planning for divorce makes sure your marriage is strong or else you would just get divorced! (Which is also ok).
you can flip a coin to see if a divorce will happen, that's about the odds of it happening
I was scared they were getting divorced when i saw the title.
Men, never sign a contract with someone who is incentivized to break it. That is what getting married is in this day and age.
I just commented this too lol glad to see some men use common sense
And we supposed to allies for them going out of their way to kill babiy
@@osmosisjones4912 no you're just not to stand in our way and allow us to do what we want with our own bodies
Then don't get married dude. It's not something that you have to do. Why are you complaining about something that you have absolutely no obligation to do?
@@UlexiteTVStoneLexite he's not ranting, just giving sound advice. I've seen exactly what he said play out.
Marriage is grand. Divorce is fifty grand.
Main reason i dont want to get married
Love the video and its very informative but
YOUR MUSTACHE IS GONE. I AM NOW A SAD PANDA. The tattoos are amazing tho 😌
Marriage is a transfer of wealth to smart women from dumb and desperate men.
The things people say about marriage bro, sheesh 🛑
Why are you talking about it as if it's something that you have to do? If you don't want to get married don't!
@@UlexiteTVStoneLexite When did I say that?
Why does an individual get to maintain a similar standard of living that they didn’t create for themselves? I’ve never understood that.
Because law is baised.

OMG I was convinced I’d marry JTT too!
I’d have taken Prince William too 😂
