How to play Diamonds and Pearls by Prince on Bass

- In this quick bass lesson I'm going to show you how to not only how to play Prince's hit "Diamonds & Pearls"! My goal, my hope is that it is presented in a way that respects his complicated relationship with social media sharing while allowing me to share some of the most important music of my development as a musician.
WHO I AM
My name is Ted Gould III (aka Blyss) and I am a "NoLa grown" musician and music educator. I play a wide range of music in my work as a musician but the music styles that inspire me more than any other are Funk, Soul and R&B. sounds excellent but: I hear a "D" as the first note of the third lick in the intro. so: D E CD C, F A CE D, and then I hear D F AC B GG.

You're like the only one who constantly switches between second and middle finger. I felt like an alien because I trained myself to do it like that, and I felt even more strange when I saw that even Prince didn't do that. Now that I see you do it as well, I feel more secure. Thank you very much!! May I ask you if somebody taught you to play like that or if that was your own idea?

Yup thats how i play it, along with playing the C after the harmonics on the E string (8 fret) using pinky finger, which allows all 3 harmonic notes to ring freely.
