To be fair there are a lot of incredible builds on the southern canal
4:11 I would never have expected to actually see one of my own signs in a FitMC video,
To give some context: I am just a random player unaffiliated to any repair groups. When I decided to travel the canal, I found this part to be completely dry, forcing me to walk for a few thousand blocks. Since I had nothing better to do, I set up this sign and started to fill the dry line with water. I made the raft tour because I am just a single casual player who lacks the skills or time to fully fill the canal. I literally just filled a bunch of buckets and dropped the water each few blocks.
The sign is outdated since I haven't logged into 2B2T for a while due to not having time often. But one day I plan to return and will probably try to fill that portion out a little bit more.
Happy to hear you had fun with the band-aid I put on.
- TheLate
Edit: Wow, thanks for all the likes and comments.
I am aware that a single person is claiming I am fake. I only have to say this: If you go to the official discord server for 2B2T, there is a channel where you can ask a bot for stats about specific players. Typing in commmands like "!seen TheLate" or "!stats TheLate" will quickly prove that I exist, that I died 23 times so far, and that I haven't logged into the server for over a month.
Also I am not affiliated with a group called TheLate. My username in Minecraft is a joke about how I only started playing the game in 2018, thus very late after the game got big.
Intreating insight :D

Ikr! It's been a while since I played on a Minecraft server. And this kind of village would definitely be built for players if I played again.
My jaw dropped when I saw this, it's so festive and welcoming, I'd love to live there. It looks meticulously planned and put together, major respect to the builder for putting effort into good vibes despite the likeliness of being destroyed.
I won't ever be skilled enough to survive in this volatile server. Even so, I constantly admire from a distance.
2B2T has such incredible lore and history, so many factions and players. So many conflicts and wars. So many creations, so much cooperation! It's all so deep and complicated, it's basically it's own separate world!
Im surprised matpat hasnt done a video on that
The Southern Canal now extends 254.76 miles from spawn, approximately equivalent to the distance between Chicago and Cincinnati. Not bad for a block game.
Not bad indeed.

that’s approximately 409.99km for civilised people.

So crazy seeing the griefed spawn base with the taco truck in here, the very first time i joined the server back in 2021 i headed down the canal and found that place un griefed. Never met anyone there but survived in a bunker down below for a couple weeks, where there was a melon and pumpkin farm. Built my first afk fish farm and mob grinder down there. Left a couple signs and set out with some melons and eventually got sent back to spawn i'm sure LOL
I love the thought of all the 2b2t players feeling inspired by this video to extend this and just how much farther the canal may go in the future. Can't wait for part 3 six more years down the line.
and also some of the canal being destroyed and rebuilt again

it's cool to see how even when the canal gets skinnier, it still looks like it was built very systematically.
usually trying to escape spawn region in an anarchy server is pretty simple
1.keep dying until you find water
2.if it leads under the cobblestone towers, go swim under it, if not, keep dying
3.swim under the cobblestone towers and use airpockets too your advantage
4.find nether portal, if not, use boat to escape spawn
(much easier said that done)
It's so cool to see you passing through pre-b1.8 terrain.
@Rock girl bot
Literally yesterday I was thinking that in one video you once mentioned that the southern canal is really long and was wondering if you ever made a video going further into detail about how long it is and what's on it. This is a cool coincidence.
fit mc used popbob 2b2t hack to hack in your brain!!!
coincidences don't exist, it's actually collective consciousness @Murzac
i loved the part where the Southern Canal said "it's canalin' time" and the proceded to go on for 400k blocks, truly one of the moments of this channel
10:44 gotta say that was smooth
Idk why but this was such a great video, seeing the pure chaos of the begining of the canal vs how *mostly* pristine and intact everything was towards the end. The video ended on such a positive note too !
Happy that I got to see these cool builds along the canal, sad to know that they're probably gonna get griefed real quick now that people know of them.
True, but look at the bright side: with this video, more people managed to see them intact than they could ever have in the server
I hope the fit fam keeps them alive. Travel safe my friends
@@theRealSlimGordon I like that perspective, cheers man.
Yeah someone will create a lot of restoration work for the southern canal corp after this video by blowing it up with tnt or using sponges. super cool though

When crafting anything on 2b2t, it is always with the expectation that it will not last forever. It is a conscious choice to show off your design in a world that will destroy it as soon as possible. With that in mind, I think speeding up the inevitable is a worthwhile cost for documenting and immortalizing the builds and history of the server.
They can also literally just follow the canal anyway
Fit, one of the things I appreciate most about your channel is how you present all of these things from a sort of documentarian point of view. You could be making videos of griefing these bases, you could be making videos exposing base locations, etc. But instead you present us with purely exploratory content, and that's my favorite thing about you. Thanks for the good stuff
As someone who first escaped spawn using the southern canal, this was a cool video! It was interesting to see how the monuments have changed since travelled the canals last. I noticed The Fortress of Adida by Kav & Ayy was relatively intact which is crazy! Always bringin that nostalgia!
