Those gates at the entrance to the site are quite spectacular.
Looks a nice site, were booked to stop for 5 night's at beginning of May, looking forward to the trip
If you had followed the clubs own directions rather than sat nav you would have taken the Edinburgh bypass from the A1 (A720) that would have cut out some of the traffic and avoided some of the narrow bits along the shore. Love the Edinburgh site, only 40 mins from home so use it a lot especially in winter. Muriel the lead warden is an absolute star ... though she may well still be on her well deserved winter break!
We must have missed that. Also we couldn't follow the directions, tiny abbreviated words in a book going up and down. We'll know next time.
Bob do as your told,,ITS NOT LEFT ITS STRAIGHT UP,!! 😀
What a drive bob ....respect 👍,nice site to land on x relax ....much enjoyed 👏
Bob, you can get away with disagreeing with sat nag, but always listen to van nag (sorry jenny) as she is invariably right 😊
True, so true.
Dry crisp weather...no snow in sight... fantastic...lol. Looking forward to the next outing...Poppy obviously wanted to get going immediately, but then again she did not do that long drive behind the Wheel! How many miles on the clock now?
Thanks, we've not one nearly 500 miles now.
Hi bob Jenny
The yacht we are living on which is up for sale is being taken out of the water on Monday, our plans are to travel to Dunbar on the east coast of Scotland and head south , we will be passing Edinburgh on our way, maybe we can meet at the Edinburgh camp site (on Monday) if you are there to get some advice.
Elddis encore thanks
Neal & Tricia
Is Jenny blonde as I've got one as well 😀🙄
30 years wrong I've been!!!!!!
No, Jenny's brunette, I'm the blonde, or at least we were! Sorry, we'll be leaving early Monday.
Liked the video guys.what was the background chill out music on the road called?
It's called 'Chill Day' by Lakey Inspired.
Built in sat navs are 10 times better than user but ones as they are built to last you a long time but it depends on the make
Not necessarily.. depends on the vehicle they are in, some are excellent to use and some are just hopeless...you wonder how the person designing it ever got that job in the first place. At least with windscreen sat navs you can go and pick and choose in Halfords which suits you best.
Bonkers Daniel! Have you ever tried to use a BMW or Mercedes sat nav? Off the shelf Garmin and TomTom sat nags are soooooo much better. You get to choose the style, size and complexity you want. All my recent cars have had built in sat nags and I’d still prefer the windscreen mounted alternatives.
I think it depends how new the vehicle is . I have a Skoda with a built-in Sat Nav and I used to have a TomTom but it wasn't very good. The user bought ones take more space up and can attract thieves as they leave Mark's on your windscreen
@@copperknob1971 true one thing I do like is the life time map upgrades
@@MrAyorath it depends on what car you have, I have a skoda and the sat nav is great and neat
I turn the voice off on our sat nag, can’t stand it. 😂 👍
Another good vid Bob, watching sat in our Baileys on the fairground car park in Southport, only a tenner a night or £13 if you want electric. Have you ever stayed on here ?
No, mind you we live just a few miles away. Very handy for the town and parks though.
Steve, I pass that car park every day and have always wondered what the score was, is it a proper camp site for caravans as well and do you have to book or do you just turn up?
Retro , hi, it is a proper site, not got all the fancy facilities like most of the others but that’s why it’s less than half the price. It can get really busy in summer with all the vans parking around the perimeter and they let cars park in the middle. You can’t really book a pitch it’s a bit more informal, there are about 20 electric supplies and it’s 1st come 1st served .
At about 8.30 in your video when you mentioned the 2 Baileys, why did the one on the left have covers on his wheels and front grill ? Never seen that before, what’s the point ?
@@copperknob1971 Some people cover up their wheels to stop tyres being degraded by UV light. The cover on the front stops drafts coming in via the engine bay, think it is made by 'Taylormade' , also, presumably, keeps the engine bay warmer.
Why was the wheels covered on that motorhome when you were looking for your pitch on the site?.
Some people cover up their wheels to stop tyres being degraded by UV light. Our wheels don't standstill long enough! :-)
David Taylor to protect tyres from uv light apparently... very odd
Wonder if his car 🚙 tyres are covered up back home ?
Or maybe he’s a sales rep for a nylon cover everything making company....
@@BobEarnshawMoHo 😂
What’s the weather like in Edinburgh Bob ? Blowing a gale here in Southport.
Blowing a gale here in Edinburgh. Really windy coming up.
Bob Earnshaw , we had a trip up the east coast, stopping where you are now last Easter time. We went to the Falkirk wheel next, amazing place, have you been there ?
Too complicated these days I think ... back to basics 👍
