This rests on Nuclear Fission creating energy abundance. AI might help solve it, but there are still huge lag times in building out the infrastructure converting the old processes into new ones utilizing the new abundant energy.
The fusion plants being experimented with are still boiling water, we will not get to energy abundance until we converting the energy created directly to electricity. Only one experimental lab is going that way.
AI being used for materials science is also going to lead to a huge jump in society. It will accelerate the creation of new exotic materials that we need to build the new society.
Very true in terms of the infrastructure. China managed to keep a candle lit for around 48 seconds using fusion but it was energy negative, the us has created the worlds first energy positive experiment if I'm not mistaken.
