    I am an NHS doctor so just wanted to clarify a few bits as people might be watching for some information and get confused with certain conditions Tiffany mentioned.
    1) Gastroenteritis just means a tummy bug/infection. C.dif is a form of gastroenteritis caused by a bacteria. Most cases of gastroenteritis are viral, looks like this is what Tiffany had.
    2) A Hernia is not just a lump. When the abdominal wall is weakened, it allow abdominal contents to push through the muscle layers and bulge out and this is called a hernia. In this case, an incisional hernia just means it happened at the site of the surgical cut. Hernias are extremely common, and most doctors even just out of university are able to diagnose them. If anyone is concerned about a hernia, their GP can diagnose them. Referral to surgeons are only necessary if surgery is needed to fix it or if the hernia gets strangulated(meaning part of bowel gets trapped in the weakened muscle opening of the abdomen and blood supply is cut off)

    • @annelyceimgrund6884
      @annelyceimgrund6884 3 месяца назад +27

      While I 💯 agree that a hernia is something that most people would first address with their PCP, I think Tiffany did exactly the right thing in *her* situation (having just had major abdominal surgery) to assume a potential post-op complication and to contact her surgeon first.

    • @michellej1983
      @michellej1983 3 месяца назад +35

      As I said this is just general info not relating to Tiffany. I am not giving an opinion on her case. Tiffany is free to make her own decisions and does not need any validation from us. Both the things I mentioned are not specific to cancer patients. They are common medical conditions the NHS deals with everyday.

      Your current ideas are absolutely correct. You need this year to reset your immune system, to recover, and to de-stress. Work but mask. Washboard hands. Wipe down your equipment. Brilliant! Be alert to your general health. Great! Watching what you eat and drink is wonderful. I think that some people don't know alot and some do. You will teach them but don't worry if they are not receptive. You need not excuse yourself. You are doing well for yourself and now you have made everything very clear.
      As for not going for a walk, you must go out. You need to see friends. You have to live and Matt wants a life with you. Whatever, do not turn into a victim or hypochondriac. You are going to have ups and downs. We all do. Be vigilant. Be as active as you want to be without going overboard on anything. Moderation in all things. Amma knows best. Listen to her. She's no dummy.
      I think you are wise to watch out for large indoor gatherings. Covid has not disappeared. Norovirus is going around too. Lately in the U.S. even measles has been circulating because some people don't vaccinate their children. Measles is extremely infectious.. maybe one of the very most infectious viruses and it can have consequences that are serious. Viruses are all around. We all get sick sometime but it's scarier for you than others. Come to think about it. Im worried about norovirus which is circulating in my area. So. masks for me too. I'm old now at 82 years. I need to watch my health also. Bit I'm still going food shopping tomorrow and to the plant nursery very soon. I still visit with neighbors. I can't be a hermit. My children see me and my granddaughter too. I had a big Thanksgiving dinner. I made sure all my vaccinations and boosters were current and timed for the holidays. I asked my guests to be current on vaccines too. They all were. I do wash hands very often. Nothing is going to keep me away from having a good life as long as I am able. I don't go out if my way to seek out crowds in small spaces or do more than I can do without getting excessively tense or tired. Moderation, again!
      Be well. We all wish you to be healthy and happy.

    FYI, gastroenteritis is not like the common cold. Some years back I got sick. I went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with a UTI. I did not get better so I went back to the ER when I started vomiting what I know now was stool. Long story short, I was diagnosed with gastroenteritis and a large abscess in my colon. I was admitted to the hospital. After a week in the hospital things had not improved so I had surgery. A foot of my colon was removed. Two weeks in the hospital and 6 weeks recovering I was much better. Glad you are doing better. 😊

    Tiffany, you are a smart young lady. When you had the issue on holiday, before the new year, you were thinking through what was going on. Then with the bump in your tummy, you still were thinking it through doing what you thought was best. I think many of us were encouraging you to check in with your team, including myself. Yet when you really become I’ll, you instinctively knew you needed to go to A & E. You did not over react. It was the Dr who believed you needed to be in hospital, your labs were telling him/her you needed medical care. That was the reason you ended up in hospital. Your kidneys were being effected due to no fluid intake. Dr evaluated with his expertise. Yes I am a retired nurse, but not a Dr. One look at you and Alma or Amma? Not sure of spelling; heading to A&E for the second time, one look at you my assessment of you, said to myself I am so glad you are going back. You looked so sick. Trust yourself as you did. You are doing just fine. I wish for more kindness in the world, yet we forget our words hurt others too. Please be kind. Tiffany with all of my heart I’m grateful you are well again.

    You don’t owe anyone an explanation for anything. You had cancer. Of course you are going to panic. I would panic too if it was me. Don’t let those cruel people get to you. You did the right thing going to the hospital. I’ll be honest Tiffany. It really makes me mad when people say cruel things to you. They need to be taught, if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all. I love you so much and I’m so thankful that you are still here. God bless you sweetheart. 🤗❤️🙏🏻✝️

    I totally understand your problem. A lot of us with cancer have compromised immunity. In my case I don’t get sick too often but when I do get sick I get quite sick. I take supplements an I watch what I eat. I think that’s why I don’t get sick as often. Praying for you Tiffany. I also have an ostomy.

    Dear Tiffany, first I’m so happy to hear you are feeling better! When you said that your focus needs to be on boosting your immune system and self care I was so glad to hear that! May I suggest that you consider looking into working with a integrative oncologist that can help guide you…there are so many integrative safe treatments that you can do that have proven results in boosting the immune system. Also flooding your body with clean water and nutritional dense foods is so so important. We unfortunately live in a very toxic world and for anyone with a compromised immune system a simple virus could be deadly. Now is the time give 100% to self care and helping your body heal and get stronger than ever 💙

You are the only one who knows your body and how you feel when you are unwell. You have been through so much both physically and emotionally. No matter how hard it got, you have been a trooper and are fighting so hard to live your best life. To me you are an inspiration, a survivor, an awesome human being. I want you to know that you are so loved and appreciated. I pray for you, your beautiful mama, Matthew and your loved ones. Keep fighting and keep up the faith. Please don’t explain yourself just know most of us want you to get better and never want you to see problems as they are no big deal!! I do not think people who dont have an underlying health issues understand how quickly things that don’t affect others can absolutely floor us. I very rarely get ill, but even if I get a cold, all my underlying issues kick in on top and I am ill. Like you say , everyone is different , you just take care of you 💙

    The people who said you were overreacting have absolutely no place saying that to you. If the doctors in A&E thought you were able to go home they would not have kept you in for the number of days they kept you there. You have gone through a massive surgery which even now I reckon your body is still healing from and getting used to a new and different way of functioning so for you to suffer from Gastroenteritis its obviously going to have way more impact on your body. I'm so sorry that these negative nancy's have had the absolute nerve to put their "keyboard warrior" comments against your videos. I really wish you well and totally get that your mind goes straight to cancer when you're unwell, there would be something very strange if your mind didn't go there immediately. Thinking of you and so glad that it was a virus and not more cancer albeit you were very unwell as a result but thankfully Gastroenteritis gets better. Take care, much love from Scotland 😊

      @@flufffyfoxI agree that cruelty about anyone with a chronic illness is inexcusable. However, it would be legitimate for people to discuss the ethics of RUclipsrs who make significant money from putting videos on RUclips. Making and editing videos for RUclips is work and I don’t criticize anyone for their work as long as their work does not harm others.
      But it is fair to have ethical discussions about the amount of disclosure people make about the money they earn from their RUclips channels, and about whether they delay sharing updates on their health to generate more views on more videos. RUclips viewers do have a right to know the things RUclips content providers do to increase the amount of money they make from views.
      Fluffy Fox I think you would be a good person to lead that kind of respectful discussion as you care about Tiffany and are not wrapped up in jealousy about the lifestyle Tiffany can afford due to her RUclips videos.
