Mama miah at 12pm is the adjunct it can be removed and it’s gramatical AND you can move it to the beginning of the sentence and it’s fine At 12pm a New York man shot three people.

Every sentence uses CP, to show whether its a question or not thats why that sentence had (-Q)

Hi again, Trevtutor. These videos are really helpful. Thank you for them. So DP movement is never motivated by a need to fulfill theta criterion, right? Theta criterion has more to do with semantics, yeah?

Theta criterion is part of semantics, yes, but it's still incredibly important for syntax. Movement isn't motivated by theta criterion, since DPs will always "start" next to verbs in order to get theta roles right away. Theta criterion/roles may prevent movement though, since we don't want DPs to be getting two theta roles.

literally the first thing he said: we want the theta role be distributed from the head of the VP, but because of head movement constraint, we can't just move it from the VP to the spec-TP
