- In this clip, Godfrey gave his take on the Black Panther film. Godfrey praised the film but pointed out the energy surrounding the film's release as something he hasn't experienced. He spoke about seeing scores of Black people repping Wakanda during the buildup to the movie and especially after its release.
Godfrey said that he plans to view the Black Panther multiple times because he sees it as homework. He believes that there are multiple layers to the film that need to be unpacked and analyzed.

Unfortunately it’s not just Dominicans and it’s not just to avoid an association with Haiti, it seems any West Indian/Caribbean individual from a “Spanish” island/colony all do the same thing. I’ve met plenty of Black Puerto Rican’s who do the same thing.
It speaks to a deeper issue of what the perception of black is. Clearly it is viewed as a negative thing, so much so that even the darkest Dominicans would rather associate themselves with a country that only gave them language rather than the country that gave them culture, religion, their physical appearance, their history, etc

I would have liked to have seen african based actors in it (Im from UK). For instance, HK cinema and Japanese cinema had legends such as Chow Yun Fat, Tony Leung, Beat Takeshi, and they broke through (some of them) to US cinema. So I guess I didnt explain myself properly. I wanted a platform for black people outside of US to thrive. There was an actor from africa that I did like (the River Tribe guy) but he limited screen time with only 2 lines. Godfrey's always on point. Saw him in person once. Black Panther is some next level shit. The only problem I have with the movie was that the character played by Michael B. Jordan was more likeable than the main character, you could empathise on why he had the hate in him. The lead character needs to be more portrayed in a more likeable way, to me he misses some sort of strong character. Besides that I think it was a great movie, great scenery. Why did the female warriors carry spears when they had spaceships flying around lol
