After my mum died I couldn't shake the feeling I wasn't happy with my husband and left a year a go, but moving forward has been so hard with the fear and doubt.
WOW....Me too, I knew I wasn't happy with him for a long time but I was busy helping to raise our 6 Grandies and taking care of My Parents and his Parents too....something I felt was a Privilege, hard work but still a privilege. My Mum's passing was the catalyst, she was the last and my youngest Grandies were about to start school. I'm 67 now and leaving is Totally out of character.... #2- What has been delayed (advanced healing of inner traumatized child issues) is showing up in a ripple effect of encounters with mature family members, friends, and even some new acquaintances. The repercussions of old trauma and past highly toxic codependent relationships is surfacing as later in life (used to be called mid-life crisis) crisis, often resulting in severe illness, and death (or extreme emotional shutdown.) The disconnect of the blocks become the foundation of limited functioning supporting a type of comfort zone that is fragile. Triggers surface and the danger of toxic compliance is real. Shame from this especially later in life, is stifling. Letting go to embrace the miraculous when our understanding it is inadequate. Navigating advanced trauma healing is worth the treacherous journey at any age (as I am a struggling survivor and a witness.)
