Great video, you got most of the native names correct but one commonly missed one you missed as well, Puyallup. When you pronounce it, its pew-al-up. I live in the Rainer Valley where allot of fighting happened. Its not really taught in school here and most people don't even know about it.
That's been my goal! More people should know about these conflicts. I hate to see them get lost so making these videos was a huge part of keeping the memory alive.
Also highlighted most of the Nisqually battles up near Snoqualmie pass on the map, which is odd, because the battle of Conner's Prairie was already marked on the map, but the animated arrow was 50 miles away into the Cascades instead of at Lake Tapps. Otherwise, pretty dang good. The highlighted area for the Nisqually Tribe and allies is actually the Snoqualmie Tribe area, which he points out were friendly to the US Army.
Puyallup came to Yakamas as refugees so the yakama sent men to fight for them to prevent the extermination of defenseless and peaceful people, the Yakamas had Puyallup wives kinda like today.
Thank you! I’m glad the government posthumously exonerated Chief Leschi in a historical court, but why couldn’t they also posthumously convict little gov Stevens of directing the murder of a great and innocent man?
Pat Kanim we call him Indian killer ..a true traitor n he our snoqualmie family …shame he even turned in own brothers and others for participation in battle of Seattle …even tho he participated as well
Ive live close to the Nisqually Reservation and go there every no and again to buy produce, fish jerky, and fireworks their are images of Chief Leschi all over the place.
Dude wtf. Ive lived in wa my wjole 30 years and i had no idea about any of this
Same here!
America hides much of its dirty laundry.
Wow, the more I learn about what happened to the natives, the more I realize how dark our history is. Awful!
Can you name another country in which the conquered people are afforded more rights and privilege than the conquers.
No other nation in the world claims to be epitome of freedom and democracy.
Rainier…a lot…
That's good history thanks
Great video! one of the best resources i could find while researching The Puget Sound War i really appreciate it!!
Thank you! It's an honor! I worked really hard on them and had no idea they would get this kind of attention.

I really wish northwest history got more attention. It’s really interesting
You’re not from around here
Pronunciation is key
Great video- It's pronounced "pew-al-up" though. :)
Yeah.. sorry about that :\ I'm sure I'll be getting more corrections on more words far far into the future lol
You really whip through chief Leschi’s murder fast. It’s PEW ALLUP 🙃
