As was usually the case, this BBC session one-ups the album (and single) version. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the OG version and always will, but this has more energy, and a great raw but clear sound that cuts right through a bit more effectively. Plus there’s no fade-in/segue at the beginning, so this works better in random-sequence playlists. My only complaint is that Vanian is absent, but Cap does just fine with the vocals so I suppose it’s not even really a complaint.
Wish there were more BBC versions of Strawberries era songs. For some reason, when it came to radio representation, that wonderful period got skipped over. It would’ve been great to hear a more raw, stripped down treatment of stuff like Generals, Gun Fury, and Dozen Girls.
Kelly14UK - same with me. I can listen to and enjoy almost every different era/line-up, but the Paul Gray era has always been my favorite. He just added so much more to their sound with his trademark Rickenbacher style than any of the other bass players.

Can you upload Plan 9 Channel 7 Mike Read version?
Good but Hans Zimmer raised it to another level on the album along with some other tracks. They should have kept him!
