These guys are not going to fix SA football, on the contrary with these narrow views, they are actually gonna kill "up & coming" players' spirits. They may have been best players of their times but coaching is a different game all together. I personally wouldn't have employed Hugo Broos but nevertheless I think he has a solid plan for the future Bafana Bafana, that much is very clear. Yes I may not agree with some of his selections and omissions, but the picture is bigger than one single match. A friendly match like the one we played against Guinea in my view it's primary objective is not quite to win it, but to explore a plethora of things, i.e. a pool of players, different combinations, combination play, point of reference, among other things. Yes in this particular game we missed a lot of clear cut scoring opportunities which for me was an indication of a number of weaknesses of our team, i.e. poor basic football technics, mental aptitude & game pedigree (football intelligence) particularly with our forwards, and these are the things maybe certain omitted players would have dealt with differently. So yes let us criticise where it's due but let's do so constructively and more so with lateral and proper understanding of modern football.

If you check carefully in the first half we build up the ball well but when it came to the final third we struggled because Foster was slow but made good runs. Hlongwane and Lakay were dead. Broos's style of play is good but the selection of certain players is wat killed his teams. For example our wingers can't dribble and they don't eliminate defenders. Dolly is the only winger that can do this. The standard between France and Bafana are not same my guy. South African Football is slow when it comes to building up and they don't recover the ball quick enough. So tonight they were exposed.
I personally still support Hugo Broos but he must select better players. I mean Mvala is weak when it comes to ball playing, the wingers can't dribble and eliminate, Xulu ball watches a lot. A few things needs to be fixed but I still hv faith in the way hugo broos's kind of style. He's just not selecting the right players.

Remember Broos came in at last minute to assist with World cup play offs as you mentioned also don’t forget that he was also to SAFAs main preference, they failed with Benni and decided last minute to get Broos but so far he is the first coach to not fear anything and i like that he tells it as it and mentions those trying to sabotage their plans, just shows its not all about collecting pay checks but also about his reputation

We can have all the defence possible but if this coach select wrong players for attach trust me we will always play for draws and loses bcuz we will eventually come across "that" will be able to break our defence and maneuver to score just that 1 lucky goal and we lose an important game. I hate this coach for his team selection but I like his philosophy. I wud have loved that he also brings in what he calls the "OLD" players to stabilize the team and teach these amateurs how its done. My issue is when Junior said "the chances bafana bafana had, were because Guinea made mistakes' and my counter argument is that "those mistakes were part of the game plan" we were pressing them so that they may commit mistakes. the main thing was not to allow them to play their normal passing game.
I hope you watched the game and saw the commitment of the boys especially their pressing game, they did not allow Guinea to have time on the ball, they pressed them high up and forced them to commit those mistakes, which Junior fails to credit them for.

What Junior was saying is that these chances were not particularly due to SA being good at creating chances but rather the opposition being poor at playing out from the back and in a game like France (good opposition) where we lost 5-0, our lack in chance creation will be exposed and it was. Our players are so poor technically and tactically. It's sad but I can't blame them really. You can't expect to develop your technical skills when you play on bumpy pitches and receive no high level coaching at a young age. Our players are stiff, no agility, always flat-footed, have very little tactical awareness, can't strike the ball cleanly and this only just a few things. Our talent is very raw and unless we give these boys high level coaching at a young age we will never compete with the best.

But things are not done properly in South Africa, story of our lives! Also that's why a new coach is hired to replace a failed coach, that is also part of building!
The new coach must then build his new squad, that he believes will make changes and bring results, 'coz clearly the old squad faild, it's only logic! The approach Broos is taking is good, he is not just calling people up because of their names, and the clubs they play for, which we've seen happen and took us nowhere really.
He has his own philosophy different from most previous Bafana Coaches and it's promising.

You can blame the coach which ever way you want. Our players are tactically poor. Coaching is about giving the guidance to how and which tactics they can use against the opponent. Our players can't read the game, can't play off the ball, can't trap can't pass and poor ball kicking techniques. And all of this is because of poor non existent development. We can bring pep or Jose or Thomas it will still make no difference. The Europeans are better than us and will forever be better than us unless we sort out the development issue. For us even if you can check at the townships if a player can out run other players with the ball he is then applauded to be the best but it takes a whole lot of things for a player to be complete and of course not perfect.
