Was wondering what that was! Love the video, have never been to Fort Miley despite living so close so definitely going to make the trip there this weekend. Those trees growing through the concrete, wow!
As a former SF resident for about a minute (a couple of years), I wish these kinds of videos were around when I lived there. I would have definitely visited spots like these and your other videos. I lived in the Dogpatch/Potrero Hill neighborhood, so I am hopeful you start highlighting other, lesser-known spots around the city. Thanks for producing these videos and I cannot wait to see what next week's one is about.
Thanks Marko. I really do wanna venture out into other neighborhoods at some point, I’m just trying to find the right way to cover them. But it’s coming someday!
Very cool! Thought it was the fort over the bridge on the Marin side. Never went to Fort Miley. Thanks again for good work. It always feels like I there along side. Quite needo👍👍👍👍
The flat picnic area @8:24 used to have quonset huts on them. My friends and I used to climb on them until one day in the mid 1970's someone set them on fire. They were soon torn down.
Yes, you can thank my birds for that feather on my face the entire video.

I've skated here since I was 10! It is so much fun and there is a downhill mountain bike course now on the north east side of the skate spot

Good stuff Joey, you have a new sub! It's nice to have ground photographers while I'll cover the Bay from the drone perspective! :)
This has been a world famous skateboarding spot for the last 30+ years. I never realized it used to be an actual military base.
Also, thanks for these videos... this is still one of my favorite parts of the city.
a hidden gem within Fort Miley is the ropes course, from the harrowing leap off the "perch" to the rewarding zip line
I used to skate here all the time during my highschool years

I walk here everyday....it's heavenly...!
West Wei where this located in sf? What area
Ravens cawing = "Hey, I think that's Joey Yee down there...I subscribe to his channel!!"
Other raven: "No kiddin' really!?"
I believe it. Ravens are hella smart.
Ghost coming out at about 3:50 left hand side.
if u could give me a little guid on how to get to that exact spot that would be very helpful an much appreciated!!
Joey , whats the location of this place. Looks super dope. Im from the visitation area
It’s right next to Land’s End. The entrance near the corner of 48th Ave & Point Lobos.
@@JoeyYee is it pretty self explanatory on how to get to that bunker?
Okay, but Joey in glasses = 🥰
The guns were there after the Golden gate bridge
Golden gate was complete in the 30s
World war II was in the 40s
How do we get here, is it hard and a long walk? We do paranormal explore videos and want to check this place!!!
Not long or hard of a walk at all! Just a quick jaunt up the hill from the Land's End parking area.
@@JoeyYee oh cool!!!! Thanks. I think we're heading up there next sat, thanks for the video and Inspiration!!
No dude they've been painting over all of it all of the time since like 02 04 until they shut everything down
Leave nothing in your vehicle and park somewhere visitable....walk behind the museum and you will be rewarded with my personal paradise...
That's my favorite spot too!
@@spike555331 they did lots of work lately...the entire path is nicely trimmed and heavenly.
@John Doyle legion of honor
Dude. Pretty sure bridge was built before WWII
But didn't think bout WWI
fort miley used to be the S.F. cemetery, still LOTS of human bones there
go IN the underground there
Looks like a homeless person's paradise too. Do those dark hovels at bottom of stairs reek like urine. Very cool abandoned place.
Last time I was there there was no graffiti ruining the history. Scumbags.
Oh well not like any action happened there anyway Japan never came through
