"Impossible" music always ends up getting played! Just like Tchaikovsky's violin concerto, all it takes is the right person and enough dedication. Good shit.
I’d be lying if I said this subgenre of metal is my favorite but, the musicianship of these bands and this guy in the video is some of the best I’ve ever seen.
@Lee Wright why not? Once you have nailed and refined the individual skills it's just a matter of practice. You can even practice slap on a guitar (it's easier to learn first on a wide-spaced bass, though).
The video would have been much more effective if he reduced volume of the song to half and played over that (at his current volume). Right now, your amazing bass playing is (for the most part) buried. How about a 're-mixed' version of this video?
This is why Rings of Saturn needs a bass player. This is a 100% improvement to this song. I like Rings of Saturn but they sound really thin without a bass player. You killed it dude!
Well, you should send this video to the guys at rings of saturn. Cause this songs was speeded up after recording. So technically, you're better for the job than the actual members. Awesome job!
Absolutely not fond of their music, but out of all these guys the bass player actually did record at normal speed. There's even a (very easy to find over here, really) playthrough where he slays this song. By the way, the guy's a technically gifted jerk. :}
I hate to break it to you but it is sped up. Joel Omans, the guitarist, left the band because he thought Lucas Mann was a shitty musician for recording at half speed, and they got into fights over it too much, or something along those lines. I'm sure if you dig, you can find the facebook post where Joel explains why he left, and confirms that Lucas records everything at half speed. Personally I don't think it matters in the slightest if they did. I don't give a fuck how they make their music, I just care if the music is good, regardless of how they get it to sound good.
Yeah that alone is quite the feat, let alone slapping, with double thumb. Tapping in and out of harmonics. Finger style, and walking the length of all 6 strings, ohh, and playing a 6 string bass just itself. Every single video I see him play in. He absolutely shreds it! Even the stuff most people would require a pick to play. Putting some 9f the writers of these basslines to shame! Great job!
dude, you're the beast unleashed by the abyss itself. And it's the first time I heard bass into Rings of Saturn (audibly and not into a cavern far away). Great fuck'n video man !!! HAILS
I don't know what I was expecting from a RoS cover' but this wasn't it! Holy shit, though! How do you even come up with writing this?! Go RoS, and you for playing this
RoS once said something like "our bass player never misses a note/plays perfectly and doesn't even ask for money" so all you need to do is just play for them for free and then we can see you with them! :)
The fact that Rings Of Saturn doesn’t even have a bassist makes this even more impressive
They had one back than. There is even a official playthrough on yt.
Lucas records the bass and it's backtracked live
Sean Martinez used to be their bassist
Now they don't even have a vocalist
@@SkarletOctaviaMUSIC lol
Most technical bass player I've ever seen.

+Den Tkachivsky You really give Alex Webster no credit?
+Eliud Espinoza And Jeff Hughell... hehe.
check out Scott Plummer - Viraemia
Jorge Zuniga I've seen it, i think that this is more technical, idk why

Good shit.
There's still a FUCKTON of Conlon Nancarrow that's never been played by a person
Tchaikovsky? Nah. Try Paganini.
I was also wondering if i was the only one to listen both to classical music and brutal death metal
@@pierolauri7977Nope
RoS needs a bass player and you'd fit perfectly
Lucas records the bass but yeah they need one for there live playing
+Derek Reynolds Their old bassist was absolutely mental and this guy is just as good, It would be awesome if he joined
+EverestBlizzard they need a bass player for there live shit I don't get it why they don't get one
Truly Lucas Mann does bass
+Derek Reynolds They would have to pay someone so they just use a backing track.
This makes me proud of human race.
Your channel inspired me to quit playing bass
😂
Inspired me to practice daily. Someday...
lmao
LMAO! 😂😂😂
Gabrijel Steiner: I agree :D :D :D
U missed one note in 2:16...pathetic skill...

he didn't miss a note, he hammered it, which makes covering 3+ notes easier to do

It doesn't actually sound good is why no one uses it.

Rings of Saturn needs to re-think their "no more bass player" policy. And you should post just the bass track.
This dude is absolutely insane, its funny how ROS has no live bassist and this guy goes above and beyond with this cover
this is the reason why ring of saturn dont have bass player lol

"Bass doesn't take skill"

Every idiot. Every idiot said that. Most of them happen to be guitarists.
