    Hot tip, water acts as a natural rust activator, called oxidation an over time micro surface rust will happen on your chain . Whenever I do my chain clean after giving it a wash but run my heat gun over it, drys the water off an heats the chain which also will help the chain lube stick better.

  • @Stigi90
    @Stigi90 2 года назад +8

    Top tip, hold a piece of cardboard behind the chain when spraying the wax, less clean up.

    You forgot about the throttle body synchronization. That’s why shops charge so much. I just bought a manometer for a 130$ easy job just takes some effort.

    Just a fyi, my yamaha dealer said they had countless new gen mts blown up caused by k&n oil filters deteriorating and breaking apart.

  • @texasblaze1016
    @texasblaze1016 Год назад

    My oil filter was also impossibly tight and i had to hammer on a filter socket to remove it. The drain bolt though was the absolute worse. I pulled so hard on my wrench that i broke my finger tip and my bike wanted to come off the stand. It made a loud metallic popping noise when it finally snapped free and i thought i broke something (besides my finger)

      @@SOCALMOTOBROS Well, that's the funny part, ordered in March, they called me just yesterday with a delivery date in the first week of November, just in time to stick it in the shed until the spring. I'll have a better answer to that in about May of '23 after I've got the 600 mile service out of the way. I've ridden the mark 1 MT10 but ordered the Mark 2 completely blind, haven't even sat on one.

      @@SOCALMOTOBROS I got one before 2022 ended it's cool main thing I'm not too great with is the gearing feels so short that a 600 would blow by you fairly easily( i'm sure A mode is loads different). Other than that, the bikes pretty good so far at my 600-mile mark. But that's kind of also me being gentle with the motor and riding in B mode so I don't get too out of hand on the motor. it definitely needs a flash though throttle is extremely choppy in lower rpms in all modes.

    **Warning** do not follow the owners manual torque spec for the oil drain bolt. My manual calls for 32 ft lbs. I'm pretty sure I just fkd my oil sump doing my 600 mile service. I'll know for sure next time I pull the bolt. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a new oil sump. I'll just be tightening by feel with a ratchet and socket next time.

  • @tg8150

    “Hand tight”…..proceeds to put both shoulders and arms into tightening it. You really should have the proper oil filter ratchet tool. It makes removing them a breeze. Also, “hand tight” isn’t enough. You should snug it up with the aforementioned tool.
    Also, cleaning a chain is totally unnecessary. Unless you’re mx’ing in the mud. It’s an o-ring chain. Needs minimal maintenance.
