3:36 you can't rely on the "maintain position" button in the finale of a race. It doesn't automatically responds to attacks. So any attack will drop you, no matter how insignificant it is. It's better to use the "relay" button on a very low number. Then you won't take the lead either because of the low number, but you won't automatically give up the moment somebody attacks
Just use relay on your rider when you don't want him to drop from the breakaway. You just set relay on 55 effort or something low and he will follow the group he is in but stay will at the back of that group.
Yea missed this comment when I made mine. The one thing to watch out for is if an attack goes (usually because everyone’s pissed you’re not contributing) your rider will not follow and ride at 55 :)

Yeah, I don’t even know how you attempt to do it without the pause button. I spam that thing like crazy when I have breakaway and peloton action to deal with. You should definitely use it more. It will prevent things like sky has getting dropped. Since you just had him on only 85 maintain position the group probably accelerated for someone’s attack and he just didn’t follow because his max was 85.
Why dont you set the breakaway riders on automatic when you are not looking? Also, could have gotten way more time with steinhauser if you just relayed at the front?

If i was the camera I would have overheated too with all the action on that stage 😂 Definitely would not be disappointed with how race is going. Up against stronger teams and GC contenders and you have 2 riders in top 5. Another year of development and either a marquee signing or a couple of strong mountain domestiques and I think you'll easily be among the favourites.
Would have been better to put Steinhauser to relay (but put it to a level where he never actually contributes) that way he would have followed the strong pace on the last climb… wouldn’t mean he’d follow actual attacks though
