I bought one, in bronze, and am very pleased with it, and realizing it is virtually indestructible. People spend a lot more, and outlandishly so, for knives, and often times will never use them.

I don't think you need to be crazy to buy a pen like that! I'm a mathematics researcher and my main tools for work is pen and paper. Having a pen that writes smoothly and feels good in the hand makes work so much nicer! And personally, I don't really mind putting a cheap refill into an expensive fancy pen. The most important thing for me with the refill is that it writes smoothly, and many cheap refills write way smoother than many expensive refills. Pilot refills are among the best imo. But having a fancy pen to put that cheap refill into guarantees that you will always have a pen that feels good in the hand and will make that cheap refill much nicer to use than if you used it in the cheap pen it is designed for :) I already have an expensive fancy pen, which unfortunately requires expensive fancy refills that doesn't even last half as long as the cheap refills. I really think I'll get myself one of these tactile turn pens. They seem great!

I went in hard, very hard, my first time with Tactile Turn pens! I went for a zirconium pencil with timascus clip, zirconium side click pen with timascus clip and a zirconium bolt action pen with timascus bolt. It was a big order, but one and done. Buy once, cry once. The perception of quality remains long after price is forgotten... Anyways, I have been carrying the pencil and side click to work every day for months. I carry the bolt action after work and on the weekends. They are supreme. I am fidgeting with the bolt action now... satisfaction. I think the price for the quality is what makes them like the CRK of pens. They are mid-price compared to more expensive brands but higher quality than you would expect give the cost. Tactile Turn zirconium models are priced great compared to Fellhoelter and Nottingham.

I don't consider myself a pen guy, but after seeing it reviewed ( by Mr Shabazz, I think,)I splurged on a copper model. It is absolutely worth the price imo. Liked it so much I got a bronze as well. The only problem I have is when I drop it. If the roller tip is impacted in any way, the cartridge is done. So I just make sure to have spares available, which are fortunately easy to find and not expensive. A beautiful and well made tool.

These are my favorite pens by far - I have several versions of the Titanium
short 5.1” because I can use Fisher Space Pen cartridges which are also my favorite!

I have had my Tactile Turn bolt action (Ti) for a few years now and it has displaced every other pen out of my pocket. Other than the clip getting some scratches, the rest of the body is still in excellent condition except for very light surface scratches that you cannot really see at first glance (due to the surface milling). It is an impressively engineered and manufactured tool, and it is made entirely in Texas by Will and his team.
It's definitely expensive, but I feel that it's worth the premium and here's a long explanation why.
At 0:26, you mentioned tactical pen, so I'm going to assume you know what this pen is capable of in a self defense situation. It has the perfect amount of grip due to the surface milling. The width of the barrel feels comfortable and just right in the palm (when held in a hammer grip), the tip can be deployed with the index finger as you take the pen out of your pocket, and the cap is flat with a gently beveled edge so you can press down really hard with your thumb for a secure grip. The clip is thick and strong, does not rotate around the barrel, does not need to be secured with screws, and it allows the pen to ride quite low and discreetly in the pocket. Even the bolt is low profile and does not snag on anything or stick out too far.

I use a pen just as much, if not more than a knife. I figured I might as well get a cool one.
I’ve had the slim/short bolt action from Tactile Turn for a couple months. Love it.

They do zircuti pen that goes for $800 or $900 USD. I'd recommend checking out the Urban Survival Gear Tiscribe. I like it better than my Tactile Turn. Also, the best cartridge I've found is the Pentel Energel. It writes super well, you can get it in .3, and the ink colour is great.

@@vincentpickett121 I recently got a Grimsmo Saga and love it. Initially, I had an issue though; it couldn't take an Energel! I did some research and talked to a couple people and ended up getting some Monteverde Ceramic Gel and some Ohto refills. They're Parker style and are an easy match for the Energel. If you need a Parker style refill and like Energels I would not hesitate to get either of those. The Ohto is about 2/3 the price of the Monteverde but the Monteverde is about a 9.5/10 while the Ohto is more like an 8.75/10.

So the Tactile Turn will take an energel refill?

    • @timlattin8205
      @timlattin8205 2 года назад

@@BOH1995 it's been a minute since I had one so I'm not certain if the longest one will need a trimmed refill but yes, it will take an Energel. The large and medium may need trimming but the small one won't fit.

The guy who says dont spend hundreds of dollars on nice pens because its to much money, proceeds to spend thousands on knives when there are perfectly capable knives for 20$. Haha the Irony Kevin lol I love it! I spend hundreds on both!

There’s a huge difference between Chinese made plastic disposable pens vs a hand milled made in America pen made out of titanium lol this could theoretically last a lifetime

You never know when you might be attacked by a squatch or a chupacabra. Having a tactical, self-defense pen on hand could make the difference between life and death. Be prepared!

Very good looking pen, but not into spending big money on them. I alternate between a Parker jotter, and Zebra X701. They both get the job done for a reasonable price.

You can buy a knife at Walmart for 4$ also. But yet you buy knives for over 200$. Pens are the same 😂

This video defines irony lol. Nice pens, some might even call them Gems. At work, I use the free pens my bank handed out during this pandemic. I do have a brass Machine Era classic that i got as a gift, it sits in a cup on top of the post it notes in the cupboard.

Didn't you _just_ make a video about how some objectively mediocre knife from whatever current name Chinese Metalworks Factory 4457 is applying to the knives they're shitting out at the moment was the greatest thing ever for $200?
I'll probably never spend more than $10 on a pen, but I don't see how spending crazy money for one is any different than what we do. Like I used to say in a different life; same addiction, different drug.

You can put a little loctite 242 on the bolt and it will stay in place
