My sincerest sympathy to this family. I have suffered with depression most of my life and am still on medication. People's attitudes on mental illnesses must change. This is a disease that has, and continues to, exact a toll far greater than it needs to.
So very very sad and heartbreaking!! Prayers for him and the rest of his family and loved ones!!! Don’t ever be afraid or embarrassed to ask for help!!! God bless you!
I have family both in Eastern US..and Montana that have farms and ranches. The all American life. But boy ..it sure can get tough..and having community..and help sites..is so important. A tough job..and life...keep these folks in our prayers..
What an amazing and strong family. To have the strength and courage to reach out and help others after suffering such a terrible tragedy is remarkable. I wish them peace.
It's ok to be not okay 😞 # sorry for your lost - Grief is the price we pay for those we love ( Famous quote I came across) Life is hard but God is always good ❤❤❤❤❤ Thanks for sharing your story
It is a touching story and hits home with me. I was living in Korea when my father-in-law tragically passed away. He was retired, but was farming to feed elders in the village. I travelled 3 hours each away at least every weekend throughout harvest season to tend to the crops he handled by himself. Mind you, I had no idea what I was doing, but all in the village appreciated my efforts. Handed out all the crops to the elders and even planted the garlic to harvest the following spring.
My sympathies to the Webster family. There's not many farmers that don't know of another that's done this. So sad. I hope the son can carry on with the farm.
There’s no shame in battling depression and anxiety. No shame in any mental health issue. I’ve battled depression my entire life. I believe my dad who was also a farmer in NC did too. He died from heart disease at the age of 72 but had had issues throughout his life with alcohol. I believe that was his medication. Prayers for this family. Prayers for anyone battling mental health issues and contemplating suicide. 🙏🙏
One of the known effects of anti-depressants (although the pharmaceutical industry doesn't want you to know it) is suicidal and/or homicidal ideation. I only mention this because it was stated that this poor farmer had just had his depression meds switched shortly before ending his life.
Pills can work but they often make you feel worse before better. That’s what happened to me. 12 years on the same med and feeling much better. Only small bouts of depression once in a while.
I don’t understand why nobody is discussing the real issue. This man sought help and the doctor threw a pill at him. Obviously the new pill reacted negatively with him. Until the doctors and pharmaceutical companies are held responsible for what these drugs do, nothing is going to change. I’ll continue to suffer in silence after giving up farming because I’m afraid of the pills.
You are correct It really bothers me that doctors throw drugs at all issue.. Then say.. I did something.. there.. Its their shield instead of actually trying to help the person
I can understand that fear. My wife suffers from a mental illness that is currently being controlled by one pill a day, but it took some time to get here. I had to sit with her for a couple of days and watch her because this medication takes awhile to start working, which it did thankfully. I hope you can find help!
If anyone needs it, there's a book called 30 Days to Overcome Suicidal Thoughts by Harper Daniels that might offer some relief. It's important to look out for each other.
Please please if you are struggling out there with a world that is harsh take a look at”The morning after I killed myself” It brought me back from the brink.❤❤❤❤❤
My sincere condolences to the Webster family. Having lost a brother to suicide, I can very much relate. PLEASE, if you are struggling with mental issues, please seek help!
Farmers get 13 cents per loaf of bread. Even if it sells for $8. Government doesn't care to offer financial help they ask for, and voters def don't care as long as food is on shelves...
Unfortunately, suicide takes away the struggles and pain from that person, and places it on the shoulders of the whole family. Depression is an infection of daily thoughts and moods. A good therapist can help reduce those infectious thoughts and teach a person tools to help get through the rough spells. The key is ,ask for help, it's OK. Sorry for your loss!
I’ll tell ya what. I get together with a group of veterans every week. I also lost a brother to alcoholism, and my dad and I went on a journey together in a program called Alanon, where we work the same steps that alcoholic work, and get through losing someone to the drink. Recently, I lost my wife to ALS. It’s a mountain nobody can climb all at once, but I can survive today. One day at a time.
To the entire Webster family, my sincerest and most heartfelt condolences.

If farmers fail then we lose everything. Support farmers and the brave people that feed the world!
Absolutely!! No farmers, no food. They carry a huge burden every single day!
God Bless our farmers with all they need to be successful in life.
Farmers feed us and yet so few think about their lives and their struggles. I hope the Webster family will find peace.
Soo sorry for their loss. Makes me sad that he could not keep living.

Heart breaking. Sympathies to the family try to remember how he lived and not how he left
Praying for this family and all who suffer from thoughts of suicide 🙏
It takes a brave person to ask for help. Sadly too many are ashamed and shouldn’t be.
Having been depressed before I can tell you that the medications can cause worse suicidal issues.
God bless the Webster family with comfort and peace.
This was a tough story to tell. Thank you so much for spreading awareness. I wish the Webster family the very best. R.I.P. Brian.

Thank you government for your everlasting burdens you put on people which leads to these outcomes..
Unbelievably sad
If the Government wouldn't be so hard on farms and farmers it would help a lot
