It’s just totally alien that people being around would ever be anything other than awesome. I get worn out talking to the person at the checkout. Days alone are heaven.

For about 10 years, I went without TV and internet. When I turned the TV on one day, all the talk shows had morphed into interrupt shows. I used to be a really good listener. Then I noticed that other people weren't such good listeners, and would interrupt. So now I just keep talking when they interrupt... and simultaneously lower my estimation of them. Now there are very few people that I value.
Yeah! People always ask introverts "Why are u so silent" then when we start talking they interrupt us. That's why we don't talk because some people are so rude.

Same, exept that "nothing" is watching RUclips videos and sitting in bed. All day. All week. All summer break. All weekend. All afternoon. Just sitting. And watching.
And they say that we don't put in the "effort" 🙄 ...well, the fact that they can say those things to me, and I'm listening, is the fruit of my "effort", but of course, they can't comprehend that.

I would suggest amending that to "doesn't ALWAYS equal"....some of us are very much those things as a result of our introversion. Our is our introversion a product of our social awkwardness? Or...I... *head explodes*
I’m fairly socially awkward and quiet, but I do enjoy being around people. My husband is also an introvert, and he’s more comfortable socially, and likes people, but would generally rather be doing his own thing. He gets more annoyed by people who talk a lot, however, whereas I can handle that longer.
When I stay home, I never just lay on the couch and do nothing. My mind kicks into overdrive. Either I make up random stories in my head and embellish the characters or I stress out about something I did one time years ago, or a dream about my future job, husband, and kids. ~INFJ
Same on the flip side for me, but I'm always working on something. I always think of really cool music or mod ideas on a boring work day, but they usually slip my mind whenever I have time to implement them
Growing up I thought something was wrong with me and I worried my parents. Now that I have met FJ, I have embraced my Introversion and look forward to being the best me as im still growing and understanding myself😁🥰
I'm not proud of it, but quarantine was so awesome for me. And even worse, I would say that I had covid symptoms and had to isolate even when that was a total lie. I love my friends so much but they're all extroverts who basically picked me up as a friend and they are all amazing but they don't understand that I need like a week of recovery after every social interaction.
The only bad thing is I like sitting alone at restaurants with my phone/book and headphones. Couldn't do that when there was a lockdown. Besides that, it was actually pretty great.
But truly I am grateful to my extrovert friends. Only because of them I can call multiple people friends without ever trying to become friends with anyone.

I can tell you, that's genuine friendship from an introvert. We don't go out of our way to explain to people or personality in an honest manner unless we care about you. Or, at least we don't tell "the whole story." I could feel the life drain from my while being by just putting myself in this guy's shoes. It was very draining.

I am the biggest introvert in the world. I like going out to places, but I prefer to stay home because I feel more safe at home (due to creepy people and I have social anxiety when I am in large crowds). I like to hang out with people, but not with a large group of people.
For me it's more of a neutral for everyone idk like I don't love them but I don't hate them it's just eh idk how to explain it but that's the best I can do

As a skeptical extrovert (ENTP) I would love to have access to a social drainage meter and test weather or not practicing social interaction increases or reduces a person’s overall social tolerance. I am also convinced that positive social interaction should drain all people slower in general because negativity would drain me very quickly if I wasn’t so aggressive toward it lol!
Negative interaction definitely drains me quicker because of added stress. Even positive, main thing that drains me is putting me on the spot a lot or trying to make me do extravert stuff like strike up conversations with strangers. I'll interact with someone if I feel like it, I need to, or I want to help them. I'll have a great time with friends sometimes, but I'll be recovering the next day to let my mind settle back down and process all the thoughts and stuff
There is this one friend (best friend) I can hang out with (almost) the whole day. She is also an introvert. And we usually both do nothing aka. sit/lay around and watch Netflix or read or something. Sometimes we have conversations - sometimes. Honestly, it's great. I need more introverted Friends/boyfriend, more people like her. But well... How do you meet them? Nobody is ever going to make the first step. You always need an extrovert as the middle person/ unofficial wing man.
I used to have a shirt as a kid saying "I'm not anti-social I just don't like you". Lol, I loved it, it was so funny to me. Probably cause I'm socially awkward, and I don't dislike anyone when meeting them. I think I wore it as more funny than being serious. And this skit reminded me of that shirt. Maybe I wish I had an adult size of it cause I had to get rid of it when I grew out of it. It was light green, short sleeve shirt and the words were blue with white outline. I think the font style was like the letters were kinda dripping.
If you tell an introvert to “just talk more”, the opposite side of that coin is that you need to LISTEN when we do so. Silently. Until we are finished. Then it’s your turn.
