SpaceX to Rescue Astronauts Stuck at Space Station

- NASA is calling on Elon Musk's SpaceX to bring back astronauts stuck at the International Space Station after Boeing's Starliner had thrust issues. Boeing's craft will now return to Earth from the space station with no one on board. This is a huge setback for Boeing. Bloomberg's Guy Johnson reports.

a lot can happen in 5-10rs, musk can find his way in prison or a mental institution and his company(s) might be sold to other competitors. The SpaceX staff could just jump ship (literally) to work for Boeing.

I remember when EADS/Airbus won the Air Force refueling tanker contract and Boeing demanded another chance and they were awarded it over Airbus the second time because Boeing lobbyists got to the politicians. Now Airbus is churning out new planes left and right in Mobile Alabama in a huge facility. Airbus is now the world's leader in plane manufacturing.
Props to Elon for doing what needs to be done. A hero and humanitarian. What a rare combination in these days and time. Keep looking beyond the horizon .... that's the future Elon. Thanks.

If a publicly traded company opts to outsource overseas to reduce expenses, it should begin by outsourcing the CEO position. By saving millions in this manner, the company can maintain the employment of numerous American workers. These employees, in turn, will contribute to the local economy in various ways.

I believe the problems at Boeing started in the 2000s with a top level shift in "corporate culture decision making" from human avionic engineers who knew and loved flying and its risks, to computer nerds who stressed cost reductions. Compare the profiles of Boings top leaders to (for example) Elon Musk, who personally knows every nut and bolt on what he is building.
I think Boeing should stick making aircraft and improve it.

Boeing is a major UNION shop that is 'too big to fail'. SpaceX is nonunion. Union build was a good thing once but not anymore. Unions are more into Politics and not in doing outstanding work.
