  • This is a ride on Toronto Transit Commission 8049, a 2007-built Orion VII equipped with a Cummins ISL engine and an Allison B400R transmission.
    In this video, 8049 is operating a route 501B from Queen at Bathurst to Gerrard & Broadview (Bridgepoint Hospital). Buses are currently replacing streetcars between these two points due to construction along Queen Street in Downtown Toronto. We board at the Augusta Street stop, halfway between Bathurst and Spadina, and ride to the end of the route.
    Filmed in the early afternoon on March 20th, 2024.

    I thought the 2007 bus were being retired. Good to see them still running.

      They are slowly being retired, but some are in use on contingency work like this. The new Xcelsiors are largely being used away from Downtown Toronto, on corridors like Eglinton and Finch.

      @@Welwyn22 Ok and I did see a video the other day with the NEW FLYER XCELSIORS on route 29 and it was an artitculator. Them NEW FLYERS got some serious speed
