I loved the concept of this video ! Would love to see the same video with the other categories of your collection because I think majority of your drugstore products are lip products and máscaras and eyeshadows so it would be interesting to see a comparison with the face products ! Also when it comes to inventories I prefer seeing people with smaller more realistic collections , people that actually use up their makeup and know their products very well and only add new products once in a while ! I find that so much more interesting than a video showing mostly new products 😌
Yay thank you! Yeah I think it’ll be a real contrast with my other products. And me too - when I see a picture of a HUGE collection it’s just overwhelming for me 😅 even my collection feels bigger than I can fully appreciate!
I would absolutely love to see the eye and lip breakdowns as well. Never even thought of this concept before but now I’m curious to see my breakdown. After getting married my husband commented once when I bought an eyeshadow palette and a lipstick from the drugstore to replace empties, that he expected it to be way closer to $100 than under $20. I told him that there was a huge difference between certain brands and stores and sales. He straight up told me “you know we make enough that you don’t have to always buy on sale drugstore makeup.” Idk why but he literally opened my eyes to how I buy nice things for others but never for myself, so when I buy my replacements now, I do tend to go for highend. (Mostly to see if it’s any better) so what once was 100% drugstore is definitely not anymore and I’m really really curious to where my preferences actually are.
I think the breakdown is due to your buns trading. Before you had your no buy you only bought drugstore mostly. But with your no buy you didnt buy, but traded and on those platforms there is more high end presented, because people might be interested in those more and you can get some money or monetary value through trades more than with 2 dollar drugstore stuff. So you traded more into those, because they also didnt cost you the high end pricepoint that you previously werent willing to spend. And you havent traded like mascaras and such as much, because you didnt run out of those yet and therefore have much more drugstore stuff from your previous days left. Also the declutters from shawna were much more high end then your previous stash. Thats just my theory. Dont know whats your underlying cause, but you might want to consider this option.
Ya I think this is spot on! And I also made a conscious decision to stop buying drugstore - partially because I associate that with impulse/sale purchases. I guess I just didn’t realize how successful I had been with this transition!
i so need to do this!! maybe while i’m packing my makeup for uni. also i totally relate to the “not wanting to get ready” thing. it’s kinda nice to see ppl online in their natural state bc no one is dolled up ALL the time :)
The majority of my collection is indie makeup, but it really depends on the category. As far as face products go I own a high-end (is thebalm high-end?) face duo, a high-end concealer, a drugstore setting powder and a drugstore primer. So it's an even split. But I use a lot of my eyeshadows (mostly indie) and lipsticks (mostly drugstore) as blushes too.
love that you've got a lot of indie makeup! I think indie usually falls in the more high end category (at least that's been my experience with the price points)
@@laralikesmascara There's a wide range. I own a lot of single eyeshadows that are 5-6€, which is on par with drugstore. But I also got some multichromes that are 17€ and LH Cosmetics pencils that also have high-end pricing.
love this video concept! I tend to splurge more on face products but almost exclusively buy drugstore for eye & lip products - I would love to see the breakdown in your other categories!
Nude by nature is actually drug store makeup. It’s an Australian brand that sells in Australian drug store. A little bit higher price maybe is because export rate?
@@laralikesmascara Yeah, I guess it is the import add on price. Just like all the US /Canadian brand here is way more expensive than sold in there. Like ELF is still cheap but pay much more than it should be.
I was so surprised by the outcome at the end!!! I'd love to hear if your makeup collection is more high end or drugstore 👇

Yes to a video sharing how you acquire your beauty products.
I might factor this into my year end inventory videos :)

I really liked this breakdown and the 13 tatoo in all the recent videos 😅
hehehe thank youuuu (it's gone now : ((((

I love doing things like this cause it’s eye opening - I really thought I had more drugstore products! And thank you :))

I think it’s similar for me! I’ll definitely be doing a part 2 :)
I’d love to see the stories behind your makeup products!
and the drugstore/high end breakdown of your other products
Maybe I’ll include that in my year end inventory :) and yay, I’ll have to do a video breaking that down as well!
This was interesting. I’m curious to go through my stash now. 🤔🤔
I highly recommend it!! it was super eye opening :)

oh so interesting!! because here it's definitely high end prices

60/40 High-end 😊
Haha!! I was close!! 😂
yes so close!! I'm so surprised by you're out here guessing my collection better than me haha
@@laralikesmascara it was a lucky guess 😜
