It’s works well. i have used it to play Fortnite . It’s not prefect but low latency. It definitely works better with the provide receiver puck than standard Bluetooth. Thanks 🙏
@DjMartiniMidwest wow thanks for that detail! Yes, planning on using the Sony NS7 for gaming with PS5 online--- so glad that it is low latency with the provided transmitter puck! So, there's no delay with audio when using the Sony puck?
The big question I have is, can I use it along with the existing Sony speakers on the TV? So, my wife can listen to it quietly, but I can crank it up louder on my shoulders? Or does the connection turn off the Sony TV speakers? And if it does keep the Sony TV speakers on, will the sound be sinked with the neckband speaker? In otherwards all the speakers both on the TV and the neckband work together?
@@gosman949 All TVs are a little bit different but my Sony tv with the NS7 puck connected I can use the NS7 and have tv speakers working too at the same time ….Plus separate volumes tv vs NS7 speaker . Thanks.
Good review! Very informative. However, you missed some details about the Puck. In practice, they're honestly meant to connect to Sony Bravia XR TV's (specifically for Dolby Atmos, although you can connect to any TV with some caveats), to get that "Dolby Atmos" sound or the 360 Spatial Sound they claim. I say "they claim" because I feel like you can get the 360 audio from any device with a Optical Out. Now, I don't have these but I was about to buy them, but I had to do research. In your experience with these, are you getting that 360 Spatial Sound ("Dolby Atmos") Effect when just paired with regular Bluetooth or do they just sound like a decent pair of headphones? For someone who has tried these out at Best Buy, and has a Atmos soundbar, these look amazing on paper. But I guess I'm trying to ascertain if you can honestly hear an Atmos Effect from anything it's paired to. Thank in advanced!
Thanks for watching and your feedback. I do think you get a form of 360 sound from just Bluetooth. I am not 100% if it’s full Dolby Atmos experience but it’s impressive. The NS7 sound quality is good and has good volume but I don’t think it replaces a good pair of headphones. The experience is just different in my opinion but i use my NS7 for listening to TV , Movies, occasionally gaming when not in a party chat , and even some music when I’m not around people. Thanks
When you have it connected with a compatible Bravia XR tv, I can confirm the sound quality is very Dolby Atmos like, especially with video games that support surround sound and movies that support Dolby Atmos. It’s extremely immersive using a compatible Bravia XR. I have an A90J.
@@DjMartiniMidwest I connected it to my Sony 65A80J TV which has Bravia XR processor, and it is able to generate that ATMOS 360 degrees spatial sound. I got this neckband speaker because of that purpose as buying a soundbar is too expensive for me and too much clutter for my small condo living. It really serves the purpose for me for watching movies. I wouldn't recommend it hough for just music use as there are better sounding headphones at a lower cost if it's just for music, you'll really get the full value when connecting it to a Sony Bravia with XR processor - replaces a soundbar setup for a single person viewing movies with ATMOS audio.
I purchased a set and I’m loving it! For me, it was a choice between Ns7 or sound bar. And honestly, because of my living situation, a sound bar would too much for the late nights. So I went with these-and Man! These are great! I have a Sony TV-I don’t know if that makes a difference or not, but this purchase for me was perfect

I use old Sony TV Ex700 with optical output. It works for one. Right now these blue box can be availab from ebay. Does that optical splitter works for 2 Bluetooth box to provide sound for 2 users? Thanks
Thanks for watching and your question . The optical splitter ... Possibly could work for dual Bluetooth deceives but I don’t have two units to test. Sorry can’t be more helpful.
Thanks for watching and your question. Not 100% about dolby atmos “sound quality” but I think it would work as long as it’s coming through the tv signal / Hdmi signal . I have not been able to get it to work though the PS5 . Thanks .
Definitely a good idea but it’s kinda hard to explain and show the 3D experience sounds of this speaker without physical trying it out. Also not get copyright issues from the movie too. Thanks for watching and your feedback.
Thanks for watching and your question. Unfortunately I can’t answer 💯 .. I don’t have a sound bar to test . But if using the provided puck adapter it should be fine. If only using Bluetooth from the tv it might have delays but I would not think any thing unusable. My opinion only. Let me know how it works if you test it out . Thanks
Thanks for watching and your question. My opinion. I don’t exact numbers/ latency. But via Bluetooth it works great .. barley if any noticeable latency via tv or computer. Sounds best when using the provided puck / output receiver. I Play fornite occasionally and i find it very accurate with surrounding sounds / foot step placement. Thanks
Thanks for watching and your question. It is Bluetooth and it does not have latency specs for gaming … but I use it very often for causal gaming like fortnite… and like it . I use it with the provided Bluetooth transmitter puck for the Best gaming results . I believe I get great game feedback and sounds . If your a serious gamer headphones are the best but this is a nice alternative. Thanks .
Thanks for watching and your question. Should work with the Bluetooth pad / puck via digital out or Bluetooth. I don’t have a Xbox series x so not a 💯 but it should work. Thanks.
Thanks for watching and your questions. Not 100 % on multiple units being able to be connected on one Device.. good question? I would lean to no but not totally sure. (It really Would depend on your tv or device having multiple Bluetooth device compatibly). Some do some don’t. Cause one could be connected via normal Bluetooth and other one could connect via the transmitter puck. Second question .. Yes NS7 will connect to a PC via Bluetooth. Thanks
Just returned mine i think sony cheaped out and should have put more speakers around this and its not real ATMOS it only uses optical cable inwill bet the next gen will be much better
I have never owned a Bose unit but I did give the soundwear a good test at the store . Very similar sound Signature for both but I did prefer the Sony’s comfort & price . Everyone’s ears & comfort are different but I liked the evenness of punchy lows and even mids /highs . Will not get super lows / bass from either unit and is not a replacement for a good pair of headphones. Thanks for watching and your question.
I just bought these and they are on the way, but IF you wanted to use these for game chat (talking xbox only) you may be able to use the xbox app. Of course these we need to be connected to your phone if it does work and you would have to give up the game audio I believe. Just a thought anyway. I very rarely chat in games, but just saying it could work I believe. I’ll test it out soon. Thanks for the review!
can you use these as a COMPLIMENT to your existing sound system? Or are you forced to use ONLY the NS7. Meaning... can I watch TV with somebody or will I forever be doomed to watch TV alone with the NS7?
Thanks for watching. Great question. Yes , the NS7 can compliment the sound separately and you can still have the sound on the tv or through a stereo as well. Just tested it too to make sure on my Samsung and my Hisense Roku tv . This might differ on some various tv models though. If you can use Bluetooth headphones and the tv speakers at the same time it should work fine . Thanks
Bose always has great sound clarity in my opinion but sometimes Sony makes a good product that makes a good blend of acceptable clarity with accurate bass tones. I like the sound from the Sony NS7 but everyone’s hear is different. Thanks.
I have only heard the Bose in stores but it does have better fast charging , has a protective remove-able cover , and is more flexible/adjustable. Although I really do like the Sony NS7 sound . But they are Actually Really Comparable and everyone’s ears are different to there hearing likes .. If you can find the Bose for 200 dollars . It’s a hard choice. I will stick with the Sony My thoughts…
I plan to buy bose neck speaker on last year, but when physically try it at store, I am so disappointed because the bass are unacceptable, feel nothing. I am wondering, can Sony handle the bass?
Best I can say is the bass is accurate and acceptable but not warm in my opinion. Its not going to beat a good pair of headphones. But I do like the sound better then the Bose but that’s just my opinion. And I’ve only heard the Bose in a store setting with limited testing . Thanks for watching and the question.
Thanks for watching and your question. It is IPX4 rated for water splash ..no water submerge . So sweat should be ok ... It has a little weight and it would bounce while jogging... Walking is ok but jogging or running and it might be uncomfortable. My thoughts. Thanks .
DESIGN, CONVENIENCE & COMFORT ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE Using the NS7 for 3 months now. The primary reasons why you will buy this product: You do not want to use over ear headphones as they become heavier and sweatier after prolonged use. You do not want to use in ear - ear buds as they cause ear pain & irritation after prolonged use. Also ear buds fitment is a big issue with many people. You want to use the speakers mainly indoors and do not need active noise cancellation as your usage is only or music, movies or games. So if you are someone like me who wants a bluetooth speaker with acceptable sound quality which could be used easily, comfortably and something that rests on your shoulders around your neck and can be used for longer period of time without giving you any pain to your ears, no sweat, or irritation then this product is best for you. I also possess the Sennheiser Momentum 2 & Jabra 85t - but I will not compare their sound quality with this one. Those products are in a different league and far more superior in bass reproduction and sound quality than the NS7. You can use these speakers for connecting to your iPhone/iPad/Mac mini/Macbook, android tablet/phone very easily. The 360 surround sound is not available then as it’s only limited if you use this speaker with a compatible Sony Bravia TV. When I knew it won’t offer me 360 surround spatial sound in normal Bluetooth connections and I don’t have a Bravia TV why did I spend so much money then? Well. The answer is very clear to me. I purely bought it for Sony’s design, the convenience it offers and the overall comfort of use. It is an expensive buy and the cost does not justify the quality of sound. Many other bluetooth speakers will offer you superior bass & sound quality and are available at half the price. NS7 is either pure indulgence or a thoughtful purchase if comfort and convenience is paramount to you. If sound quality is paramount don’t even think about the NS7 unless you have a Bravia TV to extract its full potential. Pros: Resembles a travel pillow Sony’s ergonomic design & build quality Fits securely around your neck Acceptable audio quality Multipoint connection - pair 2 devices at once Decent battery life 10 minute of charge gives you upto an hour of extra play time Its fabric finish and silicon neckband are soft & easy to clean USB C charging port Lightweight & comfortable to use Good & easy hands-free calling experience with optimal microphones placement IPX4 - Splash-proof Wireless transmitter - Optical cable & USB cable is provided in box Due to open ear style - you are still being aware of your surroundings. Cons: Very expensive It’s bulky & could feel uncomfortable sometimes Compatibility issues Mediocre bass response Sony app is required to set up Best features only available if paired with Bravia XR TV’s Not fully waterproof Upward facing speakers are highly localized - if you move your head to left or right you do lose sound. My verdict: An unconventional niche product that you can use with any Bluetooth source, but pairing it with a Sony Bravia XR-series TV only enables the unique surround-sound experience. For me a decent audio is an acceptable trade-off for comfort. A personal speaker solution you wear around your shoulders. It fulfils my requirements exactly!
