What Floyd to mention is that him and Manny moved up in weight at the same pace, but Manny stayed at 130, even though he was coming into the ring at 140+. Plus Manny's career covers a wider spread of weight, because he started at a younger age. Floyd also weighed 106 at that age.

Also In every combat sport a jump in weight is a very serious career move. Just how many times do we hear the issue with strength training and movement or weight issues in boxing? This could easily be a stay in your lane moment. My Son mirrors Pacquiao in size and in less time has gone from 120 lbs to 180lbs. It took Pacquiao some 10 years to go from flyweight to welterweight. That's a mere 35 lbs or 3.5 lbs per year. My Son owns a gym, and mixing supplements into shakes, protein powders, etc will put on muscle weight. Add in effective strength training and you could easily replicate what we saw with Pacquiao's progression through weight divisions without compromising agility. Now, I'm not saying that Manny wasn't on the juice, only he knows that, but I am saying that Mayweather doesn't complete know what he's talking about because his strength training likely focused on complimenting his movement versus bulking up. They're different, but you can certainly add muscle and still maintain agility. Just look at the NFL. My Son did fail at maintaining agility, but at a high athletic level there's plenty of proof that an athlete can maintain speed, flexibility, and agility while putting on muscle.
