Paul Andersen explains how cells are selectively permeable with the help of their cell membrane. The main constituents of the cell membrane, including cholesterol, glycolipids, glycoproteins, phospholipids, and proteins are included. The fluid mosaic model is also illustrated. The cell wall in plants, bacteria, and fungi is also discussed.

What special educator you are! I'm not in the US but you're my real teacher. Everything I do in class is to find out what that lesson is about and then when I get home, I can see if Paul Andersen has done a lesson about it. If so, then it's perfect.

Yet again, I'm sure you get this a lot, and I swear i won't comment on all of your videos I watch, but you are just such a great teacher with this topic. Concepts I understand from class are explained thoroughly in your videos giving me a mastery of the concepts. I feel as though you condense the subject and expand upon the important points that are taught somewhat well in my 2 hour class in a few 10-minute videos.

This is all so amazing: Both that these structure/processes exist AND the fact the scientists figured out that they do exist and how they work. Give me science over dogma any day of the week; it lets us see the ultimate and primal beauty in nature.

@Monkey D. Luffy Water molecules can move through with the help of aquaporin which is a protein that transports water from one side of the membrane to the other and it also regulates how much water can be transported. Water is unable to move through the membrane because it is polar so it has to go through by using the aquaporin.
