Great video! Once you connect to camera, is there any in-camera menu settings you need to look out for to get it running? Or is it just a matter of connecting to the cloud and it will automatically send footage from that point on? I am working with a Canon C300 mark ii. Thank you!
Thanks for watching Nick! I believe it should be automatic. The Teradek will let you know it’s linked and then check frameIO to make sure the files are uploading.
@@nickmarkart for sure. Good luck! Definitely recommend testing anything w C2C first before you rely on it on a paying job. It can be finicky. But it’s really amazing tech when it works!
Thanks for watching! I’m not sure what other devices are approved to work with Frame IO aside from the teradeks but I’m sure cheaper options will become available. I’d check their website for the latest supported devices 😆👍
@@FilmJams First i had a steering part go bad on my Silverado 4WD truck, so i did it myself to save money... now a transmission cooler line is leaking and instead of a thousand bucks to have all 3 replaced, I bought the parts for $100 and tackling that myself as well. Gotta pay for my wife's kitchen by saving on my end where i can.... also put a new roof on my storage shed, but my house i think is a little too much for 1 man... then somebody calls me and was referred to me for wedding video and photos (which i don't do except rare cases) and when i give them options and pricing they say "oh wow, i didn't know it would be so much".... Second that... We're actually about to go into production on a feature with a c500 and 2x c200s. Documentation days that the c500 does pass the full file name metadata through to the teradek, but truncates it. I'm certain there won't be any issue relinking if the TC is good and the unique part of the file name is there... I'll know in a week :/
When you said 2 minutes = 3 Mb file size, was that using the 4 Mbps bitrate? I am trying to estimate file sizes for our proxies. When I transcode a 2 minute HD clip to H264 at 4 Mbps bitrate, the resulting file is between 60 and 80 Mb. The Teradek Cube is able to create files at a fraction of the size using the same bitrate as transcoding with Adobe Media Encoder? Just trying to make sure that is correct. Thanks
Yes it was at the 4 Mbps rate as stated in the video. However if you have more movement in your shot the files will be bigger. There’s no exact way to determine how much media it will take without taking into account the content of the footage. More action can almost triple or quadruple the file sizes. I’d recommend testing a similar setup to what you’ll be filming to get a rough idea. Our calculations were based off of a locked off shot.
As a hotspot? It will work but only as good as your signal is. I’d def recommend testing it in your filming location. I’d also recommend using one of the lower bit rate settings for the proxies.

Amazing FILM JAMS!
Thanks! We appreciate that!! 😄🎥
coolest 2021 tech so far
I agree! Really cool stuff!
Nice explanation of the tech. I can see this coming in handy to add to the workflow when working with clients not on location.
Thanks for checking it out Jai! I agree. Super handy tool to have in you bag of cinema tricks :D
Another superb edit 😍 cool technology
Thanks Ocarra! It is pretty cool stuff 😆👍🚀

Thanks for the video! When is the next video coming that you mentioned about how to relink proxies to original media?
Soon! We had to shift and get a couple other videos out while we had some gear in stock. But yes coming soon :) thanks for the message.

@@shaneburrell3554 nice! How did it work out for you?
Any updates for the follow-up relinking video? This one is great!
Sadly got pulled in another direction. I would like to do that video still!

@@FilmJams make sense thank you, and In case iphone battery die or no signal will the internal sd on Teradek keep recording proxy files ?
@@lucariccidj yes. I think all the details are in the video. Did you check it out?
@@FilmJams I watched all till the end but I’ll rewatch and check when you speak about the must have sd card in order to work
Yea you said that at 4:32”
Does this work with any camera? P6k pro?
Yes it does! Thanks for checking it out.
