    Lovely dance, but in 1992, yang bo’s tumbling was more difficult than all these new chinese stars, and yang bo was considered a beamer.ji liya, mo huilan, kui yuanyuan etc all had powerful tumbling. Where are these gymnasts?

    • @poshbo
      @poshbo 5 месяцев назад +5

      they need more high value dance combinations. She needs to jump out of the triple twist to add 0.1 CV and avoid landing deductions, then go for minimum E rated spins or combinations. Her 3 D and 1 C dance elements alongside 3 tumbling runs aren't enough to be competitive

      @@poshbo i agree, however, an elite gymnast should have more than a tucked double back. Their twisting is usually out of control. Whoever was the coach on floor and vault in the 90’s , needs to come back asap

      You forgot Cheng Fei, the rare floor and vault specialist from China. Some people have offered a theory that at the regional level, the girls who could develop a talent for advanced tumbling and vault, end up moving to other sports, leaving the senior ranks to be biased towards bars and beam talent.

      China isn't using the training methods or selection methods that would help to have stronger gymnasts. Maria Paseka and Tatiana Nabieva were coaches in China for a bit and said that the Chinese gymnasts don't do nearly as much strength/conditioning work and instead spend more time doing actual gymnastics. Thus for the precision events (bars/beam) they can be quite competitive and beautiful, but they don't have the strength for vault and floor.

      @@pettygryphon9285 I see you presenting this fact, but i don't think that citing a theoretical 6th place finish is particularly noetworthy, especially in the context of the extremely disproportionate level of excellence this country shows on Bars and Beam -- on those two events you could cherry pick like 20 different gymnasts who would score well in event finals. So it's disappointing that China has spent 20+ years failing to develop world class tumbling in gymnast after gymnast. For a program so strong and in a country with billions of citizens, it's wild that Cheng Fei should even be the single standout to perform high-level tumbling. Same deal with vault.

    • @marwahussein666
      @marwahussein666 2 месяца назад

      @@luceafarul579 And please don't come with racism and misogyny. I see countless Chinese (or East Asian in general) gymnasts who train in the USA evolving quickly, learning complex skills and having exuberant muscles. There are several examples of this. If the Chinese system stopped preventing girls from developing muscles and learning to teach difficult floor and vault skills, I honestly don't think any country would catch up to China. Besides, China replace incredible gymnasts because they reached 21 years old, they stopped in time! It seems that with Luo Huan this might change, but still. The summary is: China stopped in time.
