Thanks for the video! It worked!
One tip for whoever decides to do this repair from the front:
The top clamp is tough to get to because of the orientation of the ends. You can grab the hose clamp/hose and rotate slightly to orientate the clamp ends in an optimal position to clamp and remove.

Great video Scott. Thanks for the great job! I have a question.
You mentioned removing the ball and that it was for efficiency. But my understanding is that the ball is a check valve designed to prevent water from the pump flowing back into the tub when the pump is running. I always subscribe to the less-is-more theory with anything mechanical, except when something is there to prevent a problem.
So, my question is: have you had any issues with tubs not draining completely and increased mildew smell due to increased standing water in the tub after the ball has been removed? BTW, I have mine apart right now, so would love to get your answer before I put it all back together :)
    Thanks in advance!

Awesome video! ... since our F21 errors are intermittent, I've gone for the full solution, and was able to take the hose off and remove the ball but I'm having trouble getting a wrench in to open the spring hose clamp so I can put the large hose back (you mentioned this was the toughest part of the job). I have a question , sometimes the little door that directs the water from soap to softener (where you add the laundry detergent) will make a clicking/skipping noise like the arm that moves the door from soap to softener is skipping . Do you have any videos on that or any recommendations . I have the top of the washer off and when that happens I can help that arm by putting a little pressure on it and then it will switch .

If that ever happens again. That’s a sign your pump motor is struggling. Drain pipe could have been too high.. over time that makes your pump weak. It’ll drain the water out the tub. But it’ll just be sitting in the basket on the weak pump🙃 same with dryer.. ventilation should never been too far. Save a lot of time and money when u don’t over work your motors
